  • Freelancer - Games Cheats Hints & Trainer PC and Map Guide pdf
  • Freelancer came after a long wait and delivered exactly what it promised: an open-ended universe, tons of solar systems to explore and a gripping story that would keep you glued to the monitor. The intense action and the multitude of items (weapons, engine, missiles and so on) made its replay value go through the roof, not to mention the formidable multiplayer available. We can only hope that Microsoft (Digital Anvil, the developers are now gone) will see the potential and continue this universe’s tale. God mode Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Use a text editor to edit the “perfoptions.ini” file in the game folder. Change the “DIFFICULTY_SCALE = 1.00? line to “DIFFICULTY_SCALE = 0.00?. Finding secret bases and jump holes When you are looking for hidden jump holes to other systems, turn on your Nav Map, then select the “Show Patrols” map. The lines that appear show popular paths that the AI ships use. Almost any path that stretches out beyond the normal trade-lane traffic of a star system will lead to a hidden starport or even a hidden jump hole. Fly out to where the line leads to and turn on the “Solars” option on your targeting computer. You will usually find a place of interest. However, in places with reduced sensor ranges you will probably have to rely on visually looking for something. Also, to find all the paths, make sure to look at the “neutral”, “hostile”
  • OpenOffice.org 2.x Setup Guide
  • This document is designed to provide users with instructions on installing OpenOffice.org 2.x and its successors on their systems. Starting with OpenOffice.org 2.x, installation is done using the native installers available on each system. This means that installation only requires that you unpack the download image and then launch the local tool. Using the native installers will provide better upgrades et cetera. Language packs are mostly available from each Native Language Community and may also be available from http://oootranslation.services.openoffice.org/pub/OpenOffice.org/ plus the appropriate release. RPM-based Installation 1. Unpack the downloaded image into a directory. For example,Currently, the following command would unpack into the current directory: tar xvzf Ooo_2.0.xxx_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz . 1. su to root, if necessary. 2. cd into the directory with the unpacked image. This could be RPMS. 3. Then execute rpm -Uvh *rpm for the standard installation in /opt. If you prefer to install in another directory, try rpm -Uvh --prefix // *.rpm or something similar. When relocating, only relocate the base rpms, in other words, do not include any user interface RPMs as these must go in their default locations for proper system integration. Note: Upgrade the core first and then upgrade the user interface. Separating steps 3 and 4 ensures a good upgrade. 4. cd into the desktop-integration directory and execute rpm -Uvh for the menu rpm that applies to your system. For example, on a RedHat-based system, you would use rpm -Uvh openoffice.org-redhat-menus-.noarch.rpm or similar. 5. Download and install any language packs needed for OpenOffice.org. For example, if you relocated Openoffice.org, you need rpm -Uvh --prefix ///
  • Using IrfanView to batch resize and rename your photos
  • IrfanView is a very fast, compact and innovative graphics viewing and editing program for Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista. It is free for non-commercial use and is on the Approved Software List. IrfanView is simple for beginners and powerful for professionals. In the following tutorial we describe a procedure to resize and rename a number of files to be ready for uploading to Pixbird. If you just use an iPhone you don’t need this procedure. However, using more powerful cameras the file sizes will get quite large and therefore the upload time is extended. Since Pixbird does not keep large files und is going to resize your pictures anyway it is a good idea to resize the photos at your end and before uploading. Step 1 Open Irfanview and select the “File” button at the top of the screen. Next select the “Batch Conversion/Rename” option to open the Batch conversion window. 1. Select the folder with the images you want to prepare for Pixbird (be sure to keep the original images in a separate folder) 2. Select “Add all” 3. Click the “use this directory as output” button (if you prefer to select a different folder to write the reduced size images to, select the “Browse” button and do so). 4. Be sure the “Batch conversion – rename result files” setting is selected (if you like to keep the original file names select “Batch conversion” instead). 5. Name pattern: Select “Options” Step 2 The following window will open for batch conversion. At this point you will have six (6) settings to check. Download pdf Using

  • Web 2.0 – More than Social Networking
  • Web 2.0 was meant to revolutionise the way people interact both at home and at work. Yet to date the technology appears to be firmly ensconced in the consumer marketplace where individuals are now highly familiar with the ease of collaboration via Facebook and the value of wikis and blogs. Just how receptive is the corporate market to this new way of working? For the last 10 years technology has done little more than replicate the working practices of the past 30 years, simply adding speed and convenience. But users now want and need to see this consumer Web 2.0 style technology deployed in the corporate workspace to improve productivity, collaboration and information sharing. But are businesses buying in to the concept of the new office environment based upon less hierarchies, team oriented working and cross functional contribution? Are they attracted by opportunities for interacting online with customers and suppliers? Do they understand the potential cost savings associated with web based technology delivery that drives out the need for desktop based applications, hence reducing support and maintenance costs? Or is the continued media focus on Web 2.0’s role as a consumer facing tool undermining its corporate credibility? Web 2.0 – More than Social Networking is a research study that looks at current levels of Web 2.0 adoption and understanding across the UK. On behalf of Parity, Bournemouth University asked businesses whether or not they had invested in Web 2.0, and the business reasons behind the decision making. The results reveal endemic misunderstanding and
  • Progress DataXtend™ CE for C# pdf
  • Performance, availability, and scalability concerns often take a back seat to application functionality until the end of a development project. However, in Improving .NET Application Performance and Scalability, the authors warn: “Many, if not most, performance problems are introduced by specific architecture, design, and technology choices that you make very early in the development cycle, often in the design stage.” The strategies they recommend for building performance into an application stress the importance of choosing a scalable solution for persistent data access. Analysts also confirm that data access technology has a significant impact throughout the project lifecycle: – Development Phase: An R.B. Webber study concluded that coding and configuring data access typically accounts for 30 to 40% of total project effort. – Tuning Phase: Performance and data integrity issues often do not surface until testing. – Deployment Phase: According to a 2004 Forrester Research survey, 66% of performance problems are first identified by irate users calling the IT help desk. Progress ® DataXtend™ CE for C# provides cost effective, scalable, and high performance object oriented access to relational data for Microsoft ® .NET applications. DataXtend CE meets and exceeds data access requirements at each stage of the project lifecycle, ensuring a fast, free flow of data. Tightly integrated features shorten development schedules, simplify performance tuning, and ensure enterprisewide deployment scalability and high availability. In the previously referenced document, a Microsoft architect strongly suggests that development teams plan up front for performance: “If you’re very lucky, performance problems can be fixed after the fact. But, as often
  • Getting Started with Freeway Shop in a Box
  • Of the many innovations the Internet has brought us, one of the most visible is online shopping. The advantages for merchants are clear lower overheads in both staff and shop space, provision of greater convenience for their customers, 24/7 and international availability of the store, and the ability to compete on a far more level playing field with larger companies. The spread of internet shopping sites is a testament to all of these. However, the implementation of an online store has often been difficult, especially for the individual user. A catalogue needs to be presented allowing customers to select products to buy, these product choices must be tracked (usually in the form of the common shopping cart), and all-importantly, a secure way of processing the customer’s payment details is vital. As is often the case, a demand for services rapidly begets solutions, and there are now numerous companies that offer these services for integration into a website. PayPal, Verisign, and Authorize.Net are well- known companies who provide secure credit card processing services. Many companies who provide shopping carts link with these (and other) credit card processors. One of the better of the shopping carts is Mal’s e-commerce (http://www.mals-e.com) which provides two packages: a free service offering integration with PayPal, NoChex and Paymate, and a premium service offering integration with VeriSign, Authorize.Net and a wide variety of other credit card processors. And now, using the power of Freeway’s Actions technology, you can take advantage of Mal’s shopping cart to quickly create your own online store.
