How do I get my RCP-Application on the Web? This question is asked more and more these days. Besides pure provisioning solutions like Java Web Start there are different approaches that use Eclipse Equinox on the server and recreate the user interface using JSPs or similar technologies. This approach has the disadvantage of a reduced code reuse in the UI, since it is almost impossible to recreate the workbench concept and the familiar extension points with different technologies. This is remedied by RAP, a web-platform that can execute regular RCP applications with few restrictions. This gives developers the opportunity to take an existing RCP application and deliver it as an “ajaxified” web application with a small effort, without coming into contact with Servlets, HTML or JavaScript. With it, RCP concepts like Views, Perspectives or Wizards can be put into web applications.
The First Steps
In order to become familiar with RAP we will start by installing and starting the available demo application. To do this, we download a new RAP version from the project's homepage [1] and unpack it in any directory. RAP is being delivered asAnalysis and pattern detection on large amounts using standard SQLThe development in automated people tracking technology in the last decade has resulted in applications where large amounts of data can be generated with significantly less manual work than ever before [11, 12, 13]. One of such examples is the computer vision based tracking on sport videos, where, if certain conditions are met, computer tracks athletes with very little user intervention [14]. Such data can be used in performance analysis [10], giving sport community the feedback on player and team performance.
Years ago, analysis of sport matches was almost entirely manual, and the ability to gather certain kinds of data (like motion trajectories) was severely limited [7]. Before the introduction of automatic methods into the sports video analysis, every piece of information had to be entered into the computer by hand [3], and therefore manual annotations generated relatively small amounts of data.
However, by introducing the computer vision based processing of videos, the amount of data may increase dramatically. Widely used video standards (PAL, NTSC) assume frame rates of 25 or 30 video frames per second, and computer vision based tracking methods usually process each captured video frame for the greatest reliability. Therefore, in case of standard PAL videos, motion data of players is available at intervals of 40 milliseconds, and users have the ability to provide their manual annotations at the same temporal resolution, if they wish to. QUICKTIME
Apple’s Quicktime must be installed for Designer to function and so version 7 is supplied on the CD; navigate to the Apple Quicktime folder and double-click either “QuickTimeInstaller.exe” (Windows) or “QuickTimeInstaller.dmg” (Macintosh) to launch the installation process.

Setting up Maya for the Tutorial
Before you begin this tutorial, it is recommended that you reset Maya to its default preferences. Please go to Maya’s Main Menu > Window > Settings and Preferences > Preferences. This will open up Maya’s Preference Window. In the Preference Window, go to the Edit menu and select “Restore Default Settings”.
Maya has a “Project” based system which will help you manage your files. It is recommended that you create a new project for this tutorial by going to Maya’s Main Menu > File > Project > New. When the Project Window pops up. You will need to name the project, then select the location that the project will be created in. Click the “Use Default” button before pressing “Accept”. Maya will automatically manage your files to this project from now on.

To create the conventional snowman we will need to start off with 3 spheres. Maya has a list of default shapes that can be used to create the base body of our snowman.
