Secure Data OutsourcingThe networked and increasingly ubiquitous nature of today’s data management services mandates assurances to detect and deter malicious or faulty behavior. This is particularly relevant for outsourced data frameworks in which clients place data management with specialized service providers. Clients are reluctant to place sensitive data under the control of a foreign party without assurances of confidentiality. Additionally, once outsourced, privacy and data access correctness (data integrity and query completeness) become paramount. Today’s solutions are fundamentally insecure and vulnerable to illicit behavior, because they do not handle these dimensions.
In this tutorial we will explore how to design and build robust, efficient, and scalable data outsourcing mechanisms providing strong security assurances of (1) correctness, (2) confidentiality, and (3) data access privacy.
There exists a strong relationship between such assurances; for example, the lack of access pattern privacy usually allows for statistical attacks compromising data confidentiality. Confidentiality can be achieved by data encryption. However, to be practical, outsourced data services should allow expressive client queries (e.g., relational joins with arbitrary predicates) without compromising confidentiality. This is a hard problem because decryption keys cannot be directly provided to potentially untrusted servers. Moreover, if the remote server cannot be fully trusted, protocol correctness become essential. Therefore, solutions that do not address all three dimensions are incomplete and insecure.

Times were good, and new technologies were being developed at a torrid pace. Well, as we all know, those days of starting a dot-com and taking a private company public in 12 months are long gone. Not only has the ?nancial market changed dramatically, but so has the security landscape. If you don’t know that security is now a necessity, not a luxury, you have either been living in a cave for the past five years or are lost remembering the fond old days when your dot-com stock was worth something.
From the beginning, when we first created the concept for Hacking Exposed, our goal has always been to educate and enlighten. Some may say, “educate and enlighten the bad guys,” but we disagree. The bad guys (and gals) already know what we are presenting. In fact, the good news is that many of you know or will soon know the techniques and concepts that many attackers rely on to do their dirty work. We always say that security isn’t necessarily difficult, it just requires a bit of education and a lot of vigilance. So in Hacking Exposed, Fifth Edition, the operative word is vigilance. Whether you are a home user or part of the security team of a Global 100 company, you must be vigilant. Do not bow to the pressures of apathy. One of these Web 2.0 services is Flickr, a photo-sharing platform that allows users to upload photos, tag, comment and add them to favourite lists and build a personal social network.
Using the relationships between users, pictures, tags and groups, analysis of Flickr’s social structure gives a hint about the way people interact on a digital platform. Our project is part of a larger research project that aims to predict the success of social structures inside communities. Therefore we introduce a new approach to measure the performance of social entities inside the community and work out managerial implications. Although Flickr has become one of the most active Web 2.0 platforms, little research has been done so far. Mislove et al. [Mi07] state that online social networks including Flickr are so different from real world ones that the same measurements cannot be used. Kumaret al. [KNT06] from Yahoo Research have investigated the evolution of Flickr and Yahoo!360 by using an empirical model to prove their classification of three user groups.
The process of pictures becoming popular through social network relationships is explored by Lerman & Jones [LJ06]. Advertising on social networking websites has also been a point of interest in Clemons, Barnett & Appadurai [CBA07] who suggest a change of marketing and advertisement efforts caused by new requirements.
This paper is divided into five sections. After aEXPERT RIGGING IN MAYATentacled appendages have been around as long as weird creatures in movies and comic books have existed. But creating the proper movement, and getting the right look, is deceptively difficult. Mechanical tentacles such as the sentinels from the Matrix series, or like Doc Ock’s in Spider-Man 2, are particularly challenging.
This tutorial walks you through setting up a character with tentacles, and should give you a good idea of the general approach to take. Part of working in CG is the ability to push the limits of reality – mechanised parts can be exaggerated to stretch and reach further than possible, or be squashed like a slinky – if set up properly, they can do anything you like. Michael Ingrassia, from Escape Studios in London, has provided us with a cartoony character with tentacles to rig and animate. I’m assuming you’re already familiar enough with Maya that you can rig a complete character without a problem, so we’ll be focusing on the tentacles and claws – how they attach to the body, and how all the parts work together to help bring the character to life. The character rig is very basic, so if you’re trying to do anything fancy, you’ll probably need to add more to it.
We’ll walk through a spline IK-type setup in Maya. Maya has a very intuitive and powerful IK solver and its spline abilities function well when set up properly. There are no FK controls for the tentacles, although I would usually provide that to theMicrosoft Access Tutorial pdfThe Basics Part 1. Start MS Access

The Precision M6300 notebook is here now to replace the older Precision M90 model and it is aimed at the business market. From the outside the new Dell laptop, the Precision M6300, features a “Road Ready” chassis design based on a magnesium alloy casing which allowed the manufacturing company to reduce the total weight of the laptop.
On the hardware department, the Precision M6300 is based on Intel’s mobile computing platform, the Santa Rosa. As a central processing unit the M6300 comes equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo X7900 CPU which has a standard running frequency of 2.8GHz as well as a frontside bus speed of 800MHz. Just like most other notebooks based on the Intel Santa Rosa platform, the new Dell comes with a maximum of 4GB DDR2 of random access memory which is fully supported thanks to the 36-bit addressing system, even for 32-bit operating systems. The M6300 comes with a discrete graphics card based on the Nvidia Quadro FX 1600M graphics processing units which has 256MB of dedicated video memory and can additionally share 256MB because of the implemented TurboCache technology.
