  • Analyzing IP Traffic Captured by Netsniff
  • NetSniff is a multi-network-layered real-time traffic capture and analysis tool developed as part of the ICE 3 project being run out of the Center for Advanced Internet Architectures (CAIA). NetSniff uses the PCAP library [11] to capture network traffic on a network interface or from a tcpdump [11] formatted file and parses the captured traffic at multiple network layers to produce a detailed set of statistics. Logfileparser is a complementary tool creating a database and filling it with the data captured by NetSniff. This database file can then be queried to obtain relevant statistics and generate graphical results using the R [7] software. This paper describes the procedures involved to install over a FreeBSD machine all software required to generate these results, as well as provide a brief tutorial in the usage of both lofileparser and R. The first section describes the installation and basic use of NetSniff. Section two outlines the installation of logfileparser and how to generate a database from the logfiles created by NetSniff, while Section 3 covers the installation and usage of R to generate graphical results. • Audi A4 and Volkswagen Passat Gen 4 1.8T BCS (Boost Control System) Installation Instructions
  • The rear panel calibration adjustment allows you to fine tune the BCS for your vehicle. If the setting is too high or too low, your car will not make full power. After the BCS is installed, the rear panel adjustment can be set during a short test drive. Start with the setting on maximum (100). See if the car pulls strongly to redline. Turn down the setting until the cars pulls strongly to redline in all gears. If the cars surges (cyclic variation in power), turn down the setting a little bit. Wiring Instructions The diagram below shows the location of the wires on the ECU connector plugs that are used to tie in the BCS. Be sure to trace the wires to the ECU pins to insure that connections are made to the correct wires. Do not go by wire color alone. You must confirm the correct wire by connector location. Connections will be made to the wiring harness a few inches from the side of the engine computer. All connections are made using the crimp connectors that are provided. The T-tap connectors are in two parts. The dark red piece is clamped onto the wire with a pair of pliers. After striping the corresponding wire from the BCS, crimp on the male spade connector. Make sure you crimp onto the bare wire and not the insulation. Shrink the insulation onto the wire with a heat gun. Inspect the male spade connector to make sure that the spade terminal is centered inside

  • Analyzing Video Services in Web 2.0: A Global Perspective
  • Serving multimedia content over the Internet with negligible delay remains a challenge. With the advent of Web 2.0, numerous video sharing sites using different storage and content delivery models have become popular. Yet, little is known about these models from a global perspective. Such an understanding is important for designing systems which can efficiently serve video content to users all over the world. In this paper, we analyze and compare the underlying distribution frameworks of three video sharing services – YouTube, Dailymotion and Metacafe – based on traces collected from measurements over a period of 23 days. We investigate the variation in service delay with the user’s geographical location and with video characteristics such as age and popularity. We leverage multiple vantage points distributed around the globe to validate our observations. Our results represent some of the first measurements directed towards analyzing these recently popular services. The Internet is emerging as a prime broadcast medium offering Television, Radio, Cinema, and the exchange of videos for personal as well as commercial use. With the increasing demand, numerous websites offering a variety of options for sharing user-generated multimedia files have become available. YouTube, Dailymotion, and Metacafe are among the most popular video sharing services on the Internet today; they were the top three video streaming sites in the SeoMOZ Web 2.0 survey 2007 [2]. The new services leverage a video delivery technique known as pseudo-streaming [3]. This differs from traditional web streaming in that the video content can be played back as it is
  • How to create a dynamic maelstrom in Maya 8.X
  • A tutorial on how to make an animated giant whirlpool with foam and spray. Inspiration from Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End. 1. Start by creating a NURBS or a polygon plane. NURBS is propably best, but I used polygons on this one. Make it a high resolution, like 80x80. 2. Go into Polygons>Mesh>Sculpt Geometry Tool. Or if using NURBS go into Surfaces>Edit NURBS>Sculpt Geometry. 3. Model a valley in the middle of your plane. 4. Select your plane and go to Animation>Deform>Create Nonlinear>Twist. Resize the deformer, so that it fits just like on the image to the right. 5. Start playing with the Start Angle under the derformer’s attributes. After finding a suitable value, then start sizing the plane. As we scale it through the y-axis, the deformed plane will now twist like a whirlpool. 6. Go to frame 1 and extend the duration of your timeline. I went with 400 frames. At frame 1 keyframe the scale of the y-axis. Size to the point, where you want the shape to begin. Then go to frame 400 and scale the y-axis out, so that the malstroem will be at its final state. Key- frame and watch the animation. Simple, but if done properly it looks cool. • PIC16F8X EEPROM Memory Programming Specification
  • The user memory space extends from 0x0000 to 0x1FFF (8K), of which 1K (0x0000 - 0x03FF) is physically implemented. In actual implementation the on-chip user program memory is accessed by the lower 10-bits of the PC, with the upper 3-bits of the PC ignored. Therefore if the PC is greater than 0x3FF, it will wrap around and address a location within the physically implemented memory. (See Figure 2-1). In programming mode the program memory space extends from 0x0000 to 0x3FFF, with the first half (0x0000-0x1FFF) being user program memory and the second half (0x2000-0x3FFF) being configuration memory. The PC will increment from 0x0000 to 0x1FFF and wrap to 0x000 or 0x2000 to 0x3FFF and wrap around to 0x2000 (not to 0x0000). Once in configuration memory, the highest bit of the PC stays a ‘1’, thus always pointing to the configuration memory. The only way to point to user program memory is to reset the part and reenter program/verify mode as described in Section 2.3. In the configuration memory space, 0x2000-0x200F are physically implemented. However, only locations 0x2000 through 0x2007 are available. Other locations are reserved. Locations beyond 0x200F will physically access user memory. (See Figure 2-1). Download pdf PIC16F8X EEPROM Memory Programming Specification

For example, Thesues’ Hall needs to be built by the palace, surrounded by walls and have good appeal. On maps where space is at a premium this can be difficult to accomplish. To get around this, after you have filled the requirements to summon the hero, and while the hero is on his/her way to the city, you can demolish the hall and any of the structures you had to build to meet the requirements. Then, rebuild the hall where it can be connected to a road. The hero will not care and will serve your city as
