If and where conflict arises between what is reported in the HTML documentation and this guide, preference should be given to the HTML documentation that is updated more frequently. JADE (Java Agent Development Framework) is a software development framework aimed at developing multi-agent systems and applications conforming to FIPA standards for intelligent agents. It includes two main products: a FIPA-compliant agent platform and a package to develop Java agents. JADE has been fully coded in Java and an agent programmer, in order to exploit the framework, should code his/her agents in Java, following the implementation guidelines described in this programmer’s guide.
This guide supposes the reader to be familiar with the FIPA standards1, at least with the Agent Management specifications (FIPA no. 23), the Agent Communication Language, and the ACL Message Structure (FIPA no. 61). JADE is written in Java language and is made of various Java packages, giving application programmers both ready-made pieces of functionality and abstract interfaces for custom, application dependent tasks. Java was the programming language of choice because of its many attractive features, particularly geared towards object-oriented programming in distributed heterogeneous environments; some of these features are Object Serialization, Reflection API and Remote Method Invocation (RMI).

To distinguish the models, look for a mini-DVI port (shown below) on the PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI) computer.
PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI) The mini-DVI port is used with an adapter cable to connect the computer to a monitor, television, VCR, or other video device. The adapter cables that can be used with this port include a mini-DVI-to-DVI adapter, a mini-DVI-to-VGA adapter, and a mini-DVI-to-S-Video adapter. By contrast, the PowerBook G4 (12-inch) computer has a video-out VGA port instead of a mini-DVI port. PowerBook G4 (12-inch) Specific model differences that are noted in the Take Apart procedures include ” Reed Switch Board and Cable For the PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI) model, this part is called the “Hall Effect Sensor Board and Cable,” but the procedure is the same. ” DC-to-DC Board The component layout on the board differs, but the procedure is the same. ” Heatsink The heatsink shape and thermal pad placement differs. ” Inner Frame The main frame shape differs, but the procedure is similar. ” RJ11 Modem Board The procedure is the same, but the placement of the tape that secures the cable1.8T Boost Control SystemThe 1.8T BCS (Boost Control System) is designed to work with all throttle-by-wire Audi and Volkswagen 1.8T engines. Compatible models include the A4, Beetle, Passat, Jetta, Golf and GTI. The BCS provides user adjustability of maximum boost. At the minimum setting, the boost is held to the stock level of 6 PSI and the car will drive exactly like a stock car. As the boost setting is increased, the allowable boost is increased in precise increments. At the maximum setting, the boost is allowed to reach 14.5 PSI. This boost increases horsepower by 30 hp and the low-end torque is increased by 45 ft-lbs. The BCS includes a ten segment, three color LED boost gauge that reads in 1.5 PSI increments from 1 to 14.5 PSI. The display is electronically filtered to provide a smooth reading.
The BCS offers an alternative to aftermarket re-programming of the ECU. With the BCS, the stock ECU programming is maintained. This helps to preserve smooth and predictable drivability.
The BCS is easy to install. Its small size makes it easy to fit in the center console. The six wires leading from the BCS are all connected to the car’s wiring harness at one location.
