1. Click Import Pictures. Locate the folder where your images are located. If you have not found images, visit http://www.jakesonline.org/websearching2.htm to access a list of search tools that can be used to locate digital imagery.
2. Click on your first image. Hold the shift key down. Click on the last image-this will select all images. To select images non-sequentially, hold the control key down and select. Click OK once selected. The images will now load into the timeline.
3. To reorder your images, click and drag and reposition in the timeline.
NOTE: you can always add other imagery by repeating step 2 above.
4. OPTIONAL: Once the order of the images have been determined (this may be predetermined in a storyboard), you may wish to remove the black borders of your images. Click Remove Black borders. Click Yes to All. Click OK.

Download pdf UsingWeb 2.0 applications as alternative environments for informal learning - a critical reviewWhilst a number of methodological and philosophical difficulties surround its definition, ‘informal learning’ is now acknowledged to be a vital element of education for learners of all ages (Colley et al. 2003). Despite the ‘slippery’ nature of the concept (Girod 1990), there is an emerging consensus that the nature of informal learning is more specific than simply being any learning outside of formal education. At one level informal learning is “undertake[n] individually or collectively, on our own without externally imposed criteria or the presence of an institutionally authorised instructor” (Livingstone 2000, p.493). Thus, whereas formal learning is typically institutionally sponsored, classroom based and structured, informal learning “is not typically classroom based or highly structured, and control of learning rests primarily in the hands of the learner” (Marsick & Watkins 1990, p.12). Yet we should not overlook the fact that informal learning also includes a range of learning stimulated by general interests which is ‘caught not taught’ (Davies 1998).
There is growing evidence that many people are engaged in a wide range of technology-based informal learning at home and the community (Cranmer 2006, Impact2 2003, Facer et al. 2003). As Sefton-Green (2005, p.3) concluded from an extensive review of literature in the area: “computers and other aspects of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) allow children and young people a wide variety of activities and experiences that can support learning, yet many of these transactions do not take place in traditional educational settings. download PDFCompiling Eclipse Applications for Windows With GCJ/MinGWIn this document, we examine the creation of native (Windows) executables for Eclipse applications (not for Eclipse itself). While we have concentrated on Windows aspects, the equivalent systems should work without any difficulty on Linux. We will eventually test the generation of native Linux executables.
The advantage of compiled Eclipse application executables is that they do not require the JRE, they are self-contained except for the one swt dll. The applications can be distributed in zip format and can be moved around on a machine without requiring changes to the registry (there is no information saved in the Windows registry).
GCC and MinGW:
To compile Java applications to run on Windows, download the MinGW build of GCC/GCJ 3.3 for win32 from http://www.thisiscool.com/gcc_mingw.htm. This build uses a slightly older version of Eclipse (Eclipse 2.0.2) but it worked without any problems on the applications that we tested. This build includes a build of the SWT libraries so that the entire Eclipse application can be compiled. (The Swing libraries have not yet been ported to GCC/GCJ.) Special thanks are due to Mohan Embar and Ranjit Mathew for their work in building this win32 version.
