NASA Image 2000 Users Guide Basic OperationsNASA Image2000 is an image processing software package available on multiple platforms, designed to bring high-end scientific image processing capabilities to the standard desktop computer. (See Minimum Specifications in Section 1.2 for limitations for Mac and Unix operating systems.) Developed to meet the needs of educators, NASA Image2000 supports the display, analysis and processing of satellite imagery.
NASA Image2000 Functionality
The functionality built into NASA Image2000 was designed to provide the capability for the display and analysis of geo-coded satellite imagery. Users can perform standard image processing tasks, similar to those available in general graphics packages. In addition, the system provides other less common functions, including (but not limited to) the following:
Display pixel intensity, pixel location relative to the image, latitude and longitude values and their corresponding projected coordinates (for geo-coded images only)
Non-destructive image annotation including text, symbols, lines and polygons,
Processing based on a region of interest (ROI),
Image math using scalars and other images,
Compute image statistics,
Generate a histogram,
Measurement options including distance, area, perimeter, and angle,
Apply map projections,
Create, edit, and animate a stack of images, and
Create a montage from a stack or from open images

Once you've used a piece of software for so long, it seems difficult, sometimes impossible, to convert. The truth of the matter is that once you understand the basics of 3D graphics, the core of the problem becomes the specific software interfaces.
3D Studio MAX (and its little brother gMAX) are reasonably logical interfaces. Certain tools are organized and grouped in certain ways so that with two or three clicks of the mouse you're on your way to completing a task. Efficiency in any software comes from repetition. gameSpace, like its big brother trueSpace, takes an interesting approach in terms of its interface. Many tasks can be accomplished without cluttering the interface with overcomplicated control panels and dialogue boxes. Most functions in gameSpace are context sensitive, meaning they only appear when they can be used. And the interface can be customized in so many ways; it's difficult not to improve workflow.
The goal here is to compare the features and functions of gameSpace and MAX, highlighting those most commonly used in the development of game media. This is not meant to be a tutorial or a quick start guide. Each system is engineered for the particular application. The AEM Cold Air System differs from all others in several ways. We take the inlet air from outside of the engine compartment where the inlet air is considerably cooler than the hot underhood air. The cooler inlet air temperature translates to more power during the combustion process because cool air is denser than warm air. AEM has conducted extensive inlet air temperature studies and we have seen temperature reductions of up to 50 degrees by pulling air from outside of the engine compartment.
The air mass flow to the engine is increased because of the increased airflow and reduced inlet temperature, which translates to more power. The AEM Cold Air Systems are 50 states Street Legal (some models and years still pending) and come with complete instructions for ease of installation.
Our system is constructed of lightweight aluminum and then painted with a zirconia based powder coat for superior heat insulating characteristics. The aluminum will not crack in extended use like plastic and it is actually lighter than plastic. The tube diameter and length are matched for each engine to give power over a broad rpm range. Unlike the plastic systems that use a continually diverging cross section, we take advantage of the acoustical energy in the duct to promote cylinder filling during the intake valve-opening event.

Go to Create>Shapes>Line. 1 In the Splines rollout set Initial Type to smooth and Drag type to bezier. In the left viewport draw a line similar to below. Go to Modifiers>Patch/Spline Modeling>Lathe. Don’t worry if you’re lamp base looks similar to below. In the Modifiers rollout click the plus sign next to Lathe and then click on Axis. Move the axis until you get a nice shape. You may have to turn on Flip Normals.
In the Modifier List set the Segments to 32. Once you have the segments set you object will change in appearance a slight amount. What that does is add segments which smooth your object. Compare the difference between the top and bottom images below.

The Titan and the Armada have new power-folding mirrors, the Xterra adds an entry-level X model, the Murano sports new wheels and a restyled grille, and the Quest adds a 3.5 Special Edition trim package.
