  • HOW-TO use Microsoft Access databases from within OpenOffice.org 1.1
  • OpenOffice.org (OOo) is able to read and write from a wide variety of databases, as long as they support one of the standard interface specifications such as ODBC or JDBC. Fortunately, Microsoft Access (MS-Access) supports ODBC. This HOW-TO takes you step by step through the process of linking OOo to MS-Access using ODBC. The process has three simple steps: 1. Create an ODBC Data Source for each database you want to use (you only need to do this once per database) 2. Create an ODBC Data Source within OpenOffice.org for each database (you only need to do this once) 3. Enjoy using your MS-Access databases in OOo! Creating an ODBC Data Source for the MS-Access database Within MS-Windows, choose Start -> Settings -> Control Panel and double-click the ODBC Data Sources icon.. • Case Study on the Bluetooth Vulnerabilities in Mobile Devices
  • Summary As the widespread use and acceptance of Bluetooth continues concerns are being raised related to security vulnerabilities and privacy issues inherent in the use of this technology. Inadequate device resources and lack of user awareness has compounded this issue where the emphasis on design constraints, functionality and ease of use sometimes outweigh security concerns. Recently some concerns have being highlighted relating to the possible security vulnerabilities in commonly used devices, and also the possibility of the imperceptible tracking of device users through the use of distributed and connected Bluetooth sensor nodes. This paper discusses some of these issues and highlights a number of vulnerabilities in the current generation of Bluetooth enabled devices. In particular, the current methods being used to exploit these vulnerabilities are discussed and the results from a case study are presented which identify the percentage of popular devices susceptible to this type of misuse. Key words: Bluetooth Security, Bluesnarfing, Bluebug, Privacy. Download pdf Case Study on the Bluetooth Vulnerabilities in Mobile Devices
  • O MNI B ROKER
  • O MNI B ROKER is an Object Request Broker (ORB) that is compliant to the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) specification, revision 2.0, as defined in [1] and [2] by the Object Management Group (OMG). Some highlights of O MNI B ROKER are: Full CORBA IDL support Complete CORBA IDL–to–C++ mapping Complete CORBA IDL–to–Java mapping Uses IIOP as native protocol Dynamic Invocation Interface Dynamic Skeleton Interface Interface Repository Peer–to–Peer communication with nested method invocations Support for non-blocking method invocations Support for timeouts Seamless integration with X11 and Windows A COS compliant Naming Service IDL–to–HTML translator for generating “javadoc”–like documentation DynAny API for dynamic Any type handling The current beta version has the following limitations: Only persistent (i.e. manually launched) servers are currently supported No multi–threaded C++ applications (OmniBroker for Java supports tread–per–request and thread–per–client). This manual is — apart from the “Getting started” chapter — not a replacement for a good CORBA book. There are many excellent introductory books on CORBA fundamentals, for example [4] or [5]. This manual does also not contain the precise specifications of the CORBA standard. This would definitely be out of its scope. However, for the understanding of this manual, a good knowledge of the CORBA specification in [1] is absolutely necessary. Especially the chapters covering CORBA IDL and the IDL–to–C++ mapping should be studied thoroughly. Do not expect any of the CORBA teaching books to be a reference for the IDL–to–C++ mapping. The books currently available only give an overview and are neither complete nor up–to–date. There is no substitute for the official CORBA specification as defined in [1]. What thismanual does contain, however, is informationon how

  • Enter the Matrix - Games Cheats Hints & Trainer PC Guide
  • Enter the Matrix is just another example of a movie franchise that had to have a game sequel. Unfortunately, it was slated to appear in the same time with the movie in question, having the producers rush the development and finally releasing a somewhat unfinished game on the market (and if you were to ask me, a bad looking one at that). The game doesn’t follow the adventures of Neo as we might have expected, but in terms, it follows the story of a small character, at least in the movie and it’s used as a pretext for filling some of the gaps in the original script. Cheat mode: Enter the Hacking engine in the game. Enter CHEAT.EXE and the cheat menu will be unlocked. Enter one of the following codes to activate the corresponding effect. • Technical Trends of Mobile Web 2.0: What Next ?
  • As one of the most programmatic web application trends, Web 2.0 has recently opened the 2nd golden age of the World Wide Web (WWW); thus wielding great influence on various industries. The effect of Web 2.0 is not confined to the wired Internet industry; in fact, it has dramatically spread to the mobile industry. In this paper, based on their definition of Mobile Web, the authors will discuss various related issues. First, the background and main characteristics of Mobile Web will be discussed. The core technologies related to Mobile Web will then be investigated. Such exploratory effort of discussing Mobile 2.0 is expected to provide a good overview of the current Mobile 2.0 trend and lead to further research on the area. The advancement of high-speed mobile telecommunications technology and handset technology is providing the momentum for the new mobile environment as it goes beyond 3G to 3.5G and 4G. Despite such hardware advancement, however, the software provided in the mobile environment is not that different from that of 2G. Under such condition, the next-generation mobile data service represented by Mobile Web 2.0 is recognized as the new growth engine for the mobile industry. Therefore, this paper seeks to observe the “Mobile Web 2.0” trend for the next-generation Mobile Web environment. Specifically, the concept and key technology trend of “Mobile Web 2.0” and future direction of key Mobile Web 2.0 will be discussed. Download pdf Technical Trends of Mobile Web 2.0: What Next ?
