Programming, Automotive, Hardware, Gadget

In this paper we present experiences with the .NET Framework and Visual Studio.NET which we won in two big projects. Thereby we give hints for the practical use in .NET projects.
We designed and implemented two systems:
• A database maintenance system for the internet risk assessor “MIRA” for the Munich Re. Up to 10 developers were included and the project had a size of 8 man years.
• The core application of the real estate investment company Real I.S. of the Bayerische Landesbank Group. The system was build by a team of up to 14 developers in 20 man years.

Axpert The Process Server

How is it different from building an application using visual studio for dot net or any visual java development tool?
The basic difference is the amount of programming that needs to be done is significantly reduced. Reasonably complex applications ERP, CRM, HMS, HCMS, etc can be built without writing programs in any programming language. However, fundamental database and SQL (select statements)

This introduction serves as a high-level overview of the different test approaches and tools, including Java Explorer, Java Framework, .NET Explorer, and .NET Framework that are offered by SilkPerformer SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) Edition

SilkPerformer .NET Explorer, which was developed using .NET, allows you to test Web Services, .NET Remoting objects, and other GUI-less .NET objects. .NET Explorer allows you to define and execute complete test scenarios with different test cases without requiring manual programming—everything is done visually via point and click operations. Test scripts are visual and easy to understand—even for staff members who aren’t familiar with .NET programming languages.

C# Series: Basic Calculator

This section will introduce you to the Complete Programs tutorial series, the tutorial, creating the project, and adding controls. This project is meant for beginners, so the program will not be as complicated as the others. The program will be similar to the basic calculator in windows.

The C# Complete Program tutorials, similar to the XNA Complete Games, cover programs from start to finish. We start off with a very simple program, and get more advanced as we go. This program is a very simple calculator. We will cover a very abstract way to handle button presses and operations.

What Is Silverlight?
Silverlight is a new Web presentation technology that is created to run on a variety of platforms. It enables the creation of rich, visually stunning and interactive experiences that can run everywhere: within browsers and on multiple devices and desktop operating systems (such as the Apple Macintosh). In consistency with WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation), the presentation technology in Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 (the Windows programming infrastructure), XAML (eXtensible Application Markup Language) is the foundation of the Silverlight presentation capability.

Beginning with version 2.5 (currently in Preview Edition) building Silverlight 2 applications, and especially assembling the User Interface components such as items from the toolbox, and layout controls, is easier than ever. A Note on This Tutorial. The history of the material for this tutorial is that Scott Guthrie wrote a terrific introduction to this material at the end of February, which he gave me permission to turn into a series of videos, currently (or soon to be) available on Silverlight.NET. This tutorial completes the circle by building on the videos and integrating the material into the Silverlight Tutorial series. The project we’re setting out to build is very similar to the Silverlight chat service built by ScottGu, and is shown in Figure 5-1

Writing Applications Using PHP

Many developers have learned to use PHP over the years because it’s a good solution for creat- ing Web pages and the price is right. The PHP acronym is like many other new acronyms for the Internet—the acronym is recursive (refers back to itself). PHP stands for PHP Hypertext Processor. This general-purpose HTML scripting language works much like ASP (see Chapter 6) or other page description languages you might have used. Essentially, you mix HTML with scripting information. When the PHP process sees HTML, it sends the text directly to the user. It processes any scripting information, and passes the resulting HTML to the user as well.
