Nowadays, transacting business through E-commerce platform has become an important business trading way in modern society. E-commerce has been applied to literally every aspect of our society. The requirements of users are variable, different methods are in need of realizing E-commerce, even the deployment platforms are different. The JSP, ASP, HTML and other traditional scripting language has become unable to meet the needs of designing a complex system, even if it has been realized, the coupling between codes, the configuration environment and system deployment dependency fall far short of various requirements of users. It is a highly skilled work which demands good conception of beauty and much professional knowledge of the program designers. However, it is difficult to fulfill the needs in reality.

The Flexible Image Transport System (FITS) is a powerful and widely adopted means of exchanging Astronomical Data. There are also a great number of tools and libraries available on many platforms to facilitate working with FITS. We present the FitsLib 1, A library written to facilitate development of astronomical data analysis tools on the Microsoft.Net Platform. This has been developed as a wrapper over one of the very popular and time tested FITS libraries, CFITSIO. Fits.Net library merges the advantages of speed and ruggedness of CFITSIO with the language independence of the Microsoft.Net technology and a simple Document Object Model (DOM). We believe this library will be intuitive for .NET programmers. We present the design and usage patterns of the library in C-Sharp. We also discuss performance issues of the library. Finally we present a number of applications and web services, which are currently running on this library.

The .NET framework was designed to be the “lingua franca” for Windows development, with the expectation that it will set a new standard for building integrated software for Windows. However, it is inevitable that there is a time lag before .NET is fully adopted and existing applications are recoded. In particular, there is a large body of legacy code that will likely never be rewritten in .NET. To address this situation, Microsoft provides attributes, assembly, and marshaling. At the Numerical Algorithms Group (where I work), our particular interest in using these techniques is to utilize numerical software developed in C from within the .NET environment. Because C# is the premier .NET language, the examples I present here are in C#. While I use an example of data types that are current in the NAG C Library, the techniques I present are general enough for calling unmanaged code written in C from C# directly.

For our Silverlight 1.1 example, we chose to port our Silverlight 1.0 example to 1.1. This provides a good feel for the differences between the two versions and for how to port applications from 1.0 to 1.1, and, in particular, it gives us an opportunity to see what is better about developing for 1.1. This chapter doesn’t duplicate the in-depth explanation of Chapter 7; instead, it focuses on the main differences and changes between the 1.0 and 1.1 versions of the example application, Lumos. So it is recommended that you review Chapter 7 first to get familiarity with the solution.

As already mentioned in the short summary above the scenario used for this collaboration brief deals with two key components: Microsoft Active Directory and SAP Central User Administration. Active Directory, being the integrated, distributed directory service included with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, provides a central user repository used to centrally maintain user data, thus avoiding the redundant, error-prone maintenance of user information in several systems. Most organizations already use Active Directory to organize and manage information about all kinds of their different resources like users, computers, applications and so on.

The .NET Framework’s managed environment allows developers to improve their programming model to support a wide range of functionality. The goal of the .NET Framework design guidelines is to encourage consistency and predictability in public APIs while enabling Web and cross- language integration. It is strongly recommended that you follow these design guidelines when developing classes and components that extend the .NET Framework. Inconsistent design adversely affects developer productivity. Development tools and add-ins can turn some of these guidelines into de facto prescriptive rules, and reduce the value of nonconforming components. Nonconforming components will function, but not to their full potential.
