Even though much of the machinery behind the Web remains relatively unchanged — just upgraded, versioned, and rebundled — people surfing the Web have changed. Web netizens have progressed beyond solely seeking information to embracing greater levels of interaction, even if it’s virtual. It’s not enough anymore to deliver goods as promised from an e-commerce site. Merely informing your online audience of breaking news is passé, and amusing visitors with quirky applets is seriously behind the times.

Since the release of v2.5 many things have changed for WordPress users. While SEO still has some basic rules, optimizing a WordPress blog is getting easier as new plugins are added and upgraded. The most important change in WordPress v2.5 (and above) is the new improved dashboard. As with all change this revision triggered much controversy, pros, cons and confusion. Those users familiar with the previous versions of WordPress found it hard to adapt to the new interface, and many beginners found the navigation less intuitive than they expected.

To add fuel to the already fast-paced momentum, the company just announced end of fiscal year 2007 revenues that were the strongest in the company’s history—a 22% jump from its respective 2006 results! Web search services are among the most heavily used applications on the World Wide Web. Perhaps because search is used in such a huge variety of tasks and contexts, the user interface must strike a careful balance to meet all user needs. We describe a study that used eye tracking methodologies to explore the effects of changes in the presentation of search results. We found that adding information to the contextual snippet significantly improved performance for informational tasks but degraded performance for navigational tasks. We discuss possible reasons for this difference and the design implications for the better presentation of search results.

The Front installation is for cars without a RTI (navigation system) that are not MELBUS prepped (factory preinstalled MELBUS cable in the trunk). The iMIV can be placed behind the dashboard, in the glove compartment or underneath the passenger seat. You will have to connect both the Front Mount Power Cable and the MELBUS module to HU Cable to the back of your radio. You will also have to connect the iMIV to your iPod with the iPod Cable.
