DownloadImporting Data from Microsoft Access into LISTSERV MaestroThe purpose of this white paper is to demonstrate how to use the ODBC driver plugin with Microsoft® Access® database files. This allows LISTSERV® Maestro to use Access databases as a data source, making it possible to have LISTSERV Maestro extract data directly from an Access database [3].
The ODBC driver plugin is a special database plugin that allows recipient information or drop-in content to be pulled from any ODBC data source. The ODBC driver plugin can be used in the recipient wizard with the “Select Recipients From a Database” recipient type [1]. It can also be used in the target group wizard with the “LISTSERV Maestro Retrieves Recipients from Database” target group type [3] to retrieve recipient information from an ODBC data source. Additionally, it can be used to create drop-in content elements by retrieving content information from a database [1]. ODBC drivers exist for many applications [5], making a wide range of data available to LISTSERV Maestro for recipient retrieval or drop-in content definition.
By connecting directly to an Access database, you can use any standard SQL statement to extract data. You can even use the Access tools and wizards for constructing your query and testing it within Access. Then, by switching from Design View to SQL View, you can copy the SQL statement from Access and paste it in to LISTSERV Maestro.

Download PDFImporting Microsoft Access tables to SAS DatasetsThere are several ways to import Microsoft Access tables into SAS. They are as follows:
1) Using SAS/ACCESS to ODBC:
1) SAS/CORE, SAS/BASE and SAS/ACCESS interface to ODBC licensed and installed at your site.
2) The Microsoft Access ODBC driver must be installed and configured on your PC.
3) Use the following code to read the Microsoft Access file into a SAS dataset. Libname sasuser ‘c:foo’;
Proc SQL;
Connect to ODBC (prompt);
Create table sasuser.TEST
As select * from connection to ODBC
(select * from tablename);
disconnect from odbc;
quit;
- ‘Prompt’will activate a pop-up window where you can choose your data source name. Alternatively, you can use ‘DSN=’in the parenthesis and specify your data source name.
- ‘sasuser.TEST’ is the name of the SAS dataset you will create from this query.
- ‘tablename’must be the specific unit of data that we are reading.
For Microsoft Access the DSN references the database(.MDB file), and the ‘tablename’refers to the table in the database.

• The Kurzweil 3000 Engine stores each student’s Kurzweil 3000 settings and preferences. This allows students to access their customized settings from any Kurzweil 3000 client computer connected to the Kurzweil 3000 Network.
• System administrators can manage large, and changing, numbers of Kurzweil 3000 users and Kurzweil 3000 licenses from a central location using the Kurzweil 3000 Administrator.
• The Kurzweil 3000 client software may be installed on as many computers on your network as you want, regardless of the number of licenses you have purchased. As long as there is an available license on the Kurzweil 3000 Engine, it is available to any client on the network.
• Teachers can track each student’s progress and daily interaction with Kurzweil 3000 via the Eventlog file
The Kurzweil 3000 Network is a software application that consists of one or more computers running client software, and at least one computer running the Network Engine software.
While logged on to the Kurzweil 3000 Network, users can work with Kurzweil 3000 using their preferred Kurzweil 3000 settings, which are saved on the Kurzweil 3000 Network Engine.
The physical layout of a Kurzweil 3000 Network consists of the following:
• Kurzweil 3000 Network Engine computer. A computer on which the Kurzweil 3000 network engine software has been installed. This Macintosh must be running Mac OS X version 10.3.9 or later. The Kurzweil 3000 network engine’sHow to Create a Flash Form with PHPThe Flash form consists of 2 basic parts. One part is the group of text fields that make up the form. These are actually contained within a movieclip aptly named "form." Secondly, you have the send button. This will be the button that activates the code that sends the form information to the PHP file. At that point, Flash's job is done. It's then up to the PHP script to make sure the email gets sent.
1. Start off by making the appropriate form fields. Make sure these are input fields and not static or dynamic text fields Include as many as you want. Each will be sent to the PHP file where they can then be sorted. This example uses 3.
2. Assign each text field a var value. This is NOT an instance name. The var field allows you to associate a variable with the given text field Because loadVariables is being used to transmit the information, this is needed to make the value of these text fields easily recognized as variables to that command. This example uses name, email, and body for field variable names.
3. Once you have created and named each field, select them all and create a new movieclip out of them. This will be the form movieclip. Give it the instance name form when you're done.
4. Next, create a button. This will serve as the send button. This will exist not within the form, but in the same place as the form. It's on this button
