  • Hitachi-LG GDR3120L Tutorial
  • The outer Xbox 360 “shell” is entirely screwless. Plastic friction tabs hold the case together. There are many different tutorials for opening the Xbox 360, with different methods. Here are some links to “opening the Xbox 360” tutorials. I decided not to cover opening the Xbox 360 in this tutorial since it is already long enough and there are many other tutorials for opening the Xbox 360. Notes: - The Anandtech guide says you need to use a Torx 12 screwdriver. There is no such thing. You need a Torx 10 screwdriver. - Removing the grey side grill on the hard drive side is a little tricky. The first friction tab is actually inaccessible from the top holes in the case, so you need to stick your screwdriver in the hole by where the hard drive button is and unclip it. (See Pic) - In order to push in the back clips, you can do one of two things. You can use a thin metal object such as a precision flathead screwdriver / bobby pin / paperclip OR you can make an opening “key” out of a CD spindle case. The key would not work for me, it was too flimsy, but it works for some people. You can purchase an “unlock kit.” - If all you want to do is just flash the firmware, you only need to remove the six long screws on the bottom. (See Pic) Read all these guides and watch all the videos, figure out how you want to go

  • A mSQL and perl Web Server Mini HOWTO
  • Everybody who wants to install a web server database but does not know which software is necessary and how it is installed should benefit from reading this text. This text provides all information necessary to get a SQL database for a web server going; it does not go into any detail of CGI programming, nor does it explain the SQL database language. Excellent books are available on both topics, and it is the intention of this text to provide a working platform based on which a user can then study CGI programming and SQL. For getting a small scale SQL system running (not the notorious example of a major airline booking system, or space mission management database) it will be sufficient to have the software described in this text and the documentation accompanying it. The user manual of msql (a database introduced in this text) provides sufficient information on SQL for building your own database. The reader of this text should have a working knowledge of how to obtain files via ftp if he has no access to CD?ROMs, and a basic understanding of how to build binaries from sources. Anyway, all steps explained in this text were tested on a real life system and should also work on the reader's system. It can be safely assumed that databases with a high volume of data or a complicated relational setup (like, perhaps, a lexical database for a living language) must be accessible to many users and operators at the same time. Ideally,
  • Creating Quake III players for the VWA project
  • This document is intended to be a guide or a reference for those who, using Maya to create their characters, want to export them into the Quake III Arena engine. It’s based on our experience at the Virtual World of Art (VWA) where we wanted to create our own avatars for our environments, and reflects as well some particularities due to the specific needs of our project, that might not be the same of the average user willing to create boths for the game. We just use Quake III Arena as an engine for a very different context than what the game itself is about, but I think that it can be a useful reference nevertheless for those Quake III Arena enthusiasts that, using already Maya to model, texture and animate their characters, would like to see them fighting in Quake III Arena. Although this tutorial is based on Maya, this is not a Maya tutorial. Knowledge of this tool will be given for granted. It is not a step by step modelling, texturing and animation tutorial (there are other tutorials out there covering these areas pretty well already), although I’ll give some tips on some of these areas. What this tutorial is about is the workflow we use at VWA to get our information from Maya into the Quake III Arena engine, with the intention to clarify some concepts and dark areas where almost every user trying to make this process for the first time most probably will hit his

  • Adobe Flex 2 Programming ActionScript 3.0
  • This manual provides a foundation for developing applications in ActionScript 3.0. To best understand the ideas and techniques described, you should already be familiar with general programming concepts such as data types, variables, loops, and functions. You should also understand basic object-oriented programming concepts like classes and inheritance. Prior knowledge of ActionScript 1.0 or ActionScript 2.0 is helpful but not necessary. The manual contains numerous sample files for important or commonly used classes to demonstrate application programming concepts for those APIs. Sample files are packaged in ways to make them easier to load and use with Adobe® Flex™ Builder 2 and may include wrapper files. However, the core sample code is pure ActionScript 3.0 that you can use in whichever development environment you prefer. ActionScript 3.0 can be written and compiled a number of ways, including: ? Using the Adobe Flex Builder 2 development environment ? Using any text editor and a command-line compiler, such as the one provided with Flex Builder 2 ? Using the Adobe® Flash® CS3 authoring tool from Adobe For more information about ActionScript development environments Download Adobe Flex 2 Programming ActionScript 3.0
