Web 2.0 for Content for Learning and Teaching in Higher EducationThis report is the result of a study into the use of Web 2.0 technologies for content creation for learning and teaching in Higher Education, funded by the JISC, and carried out between March and May 2007. It draws on existing studies, interviews with staff at universities who have implemented Web 2.0 technologies for learning and teaching, and a week-long web based seminar (webinar) with expert contributions, both from speakers and the audience. The report builds on the briefing documents that were written especially for the webinar and the results of the webinar discussions, many of which can be found in the Moodle site that was used to support the conference.
Web 2.0 will affect how universities go about the business of education, from learning, teaching and assessment, through contact with school communities, widening participation, interfacing with industry, and maintaining contact with alumni. However, it would be a mistake to consider Web 2.0 as the sole driver of these changes; in reality Web 2.0 is just one part of the Higher Education (HE) ecosystem. Other drivers include, for example, pressures to greater efficiency, changes in student population, and ongoing emphasis on better learning and teaching methods.
Nonetheless, Web 2.0 is, in our view, a technology with profound potential for inducing change in the HE sector. In this, the possible realms of learning to be opened up by the catalytic effects of Web 2.0 technologies are attractive, allowing greater student independence and autonomy, greater collaboration, and increased pedagogic efficiency.

Technology should help you reach a decision, not hinder you. Which is why MetaStock Professional is based on visual investing. Visual investing lets your eyes operate the software, freeing your mind to concentrate on more important matters–like your trades. Visual investing is made possible through object orientation. Simply put, “object orientation” means that the commands for objects are contained within the objects themselves. Rather than having to search a maze of menus and toolbars, you access commands directly from the objects.
To use MetaStock Professional, you only need to know two commands: • Right-click on everything. The object will display a menu of its commands. • Drag and drop everything. The on-screen animation of line studies and the fluid manner in which you can move indicators, prices, and inner windows greatly simplify the interface while helping you see investment opportunities. By mastering these two commands, you will be positioned to make better trades using MetaStock Professional’s extensive collection of analysis tools. Thank you for using MetaStock Professional.

Tools Parts T-handle hex – 4mm none
Note: In most cases the alternator belt does not need to be checked any more. Early models should have the pulley and belt upgrade that came out a few years ago. Current recommendations are that the belt is installed and adjusted, then not disturbed until 36K when replacement is specified.
1. Remove the four bolts holding the black plastic alternator belt cover at the front of the engine, 4mm T-handle hex.
2. Remove the cover by sliding it straight down.
3. Check the belt for cracks or shredding.
4. Check the belt tension, quite tight, ~1/4” deflection when you press on the center. Note: Paul Glaves suggests that proper belt tension is when you can twist the belt ~90 degrees, midway between the pulleys. If you can twist it more than 90 degrees, it is too loose. If you cannot twist it 90 degrees, then it is too tight.
5. Leave the cover off for the valve adjustment procedure on the next page.

You will be expected to implement an abstract protocol called Simple Registration Protocol using simple TCP socket programming. To illustrate the use of the protocol, you will also implement a concrete application: a simple appointment management system. This application will introduce you to the use of LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP), a free, powerful and commonly-used combination for Web-based applications.
The SRP uses a client-server model where multiple client processes request services from a server using request messages. These requests are answered using reply messages. The SRP includes only one mandatory request message (called REQ) and one mandatory reply message (REP). REQ is sent by a client to the server to indicate a specific application-defined service (e.g. reservation, confirmation, information request). The server responds with a REP message, the contents of which is specific to each type of request. The server should check the validity of each request and should not fail if an invalid request is received.
The client follows these three steps to make a request:
1. Establishes a TCP connection with the server,
2. Sends the request to the server, and
3. Closes the connection.
If the request is valid, the server
1. Opens a TCP connection to the client,
2. Sends the reply, and
3. Closes the connection.
Note that the REQ and REP messages are sent in two separate TCP sessions. The client will close the existing REQ TCP session and wait for the server to open a new TCP session for the REP.
Download pdfAspectC#: An AOSD implementation for C#A major problem with Object Oriented Programming (OOP) is that it cannot deal efficiently with crosscutting concerns. Aspect Oriented Software Development (AOSD) is a new methodology that tries to enable the extension of the separation of concerns capabilities in software development. AOSD, which encompasses Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP), hopes to enable the developer or architect to capture crosscutting concerns in a modular fashion.
The objectives of the dissertation include the design, implementation and evaluation of a tool that enables the modularisation of crosscutting concerns within C#, that we have called “AspectC#”. AspectC# must:
Allow the developer to use AOP constructs within C#.
Make no explicit language extensions to C#.
Be extensible for future development.
AspectC# hopes to enable the developer to modularise crosscutting concerns within C#. By modularising crosscutting concerns this will lead to an easier development and maintenance of applications.
The evaluation included a small case study comparing an example using AspectC# and OOP with C#. We believe the case study and tool supports the case for the use and promotion of AOSD. Special emphasis was placed on picking a real world, easily understood example of the use of the tool and we believe this represents an excellent introduction to some of the most widely used AOP and AOSD techniques.

Many people concluded that the web was overhyped, when in fact bubbles and consequent shakeouts appear to be a common feature of all technological revolutions. Shakeouts typically mark the point at which an ascendant technology is ready to take its place at center stage. The pretenders are given the bum's rush, the real success stories show their strength, and there begins to be an understanding of what separates one from the other.
The concept of "Web 2.0" began with a conference brainstorming session between O'Reilly and MediaLive International. Dale Dougherty, web pioneer and O'Reilly VP, noted that far from having "crashed", the web was more important than ever, with exciting new applications and sites popping up with surprising regularity. What's more, the companies that had survived the collapse seemed to have some things in common. Could it be that the dot-com collapse marked some kind of turning point for the web, such that a call to action such as "Web 2.0" might make sense? We agreed that it did, and so the Web 2.0 Conference was born.
The list went on and on. But what was it that made us identify one application or approach as "Web 1.0" and another as "Web 2.0"? (The question is particularly urgent because the Web 2.0 meme has become so widespread that companies are now pasting it on as a marketing buzzword, with no real understanding of justIBM ThinkPad 600E Online Book PDFThis chapter provides necessary information if you are using the computer outside the country where you purchased it. All of the Bravo/a seat head rests can be removed whit ease. You only need these pliers (don’t know the right name ;) ) The next step is to pull up the head rest and grip the pins whit these pliers.
WARNING : Put some thick cloth under them plieers, or the plastic will get “eaten“ !
Then when you have a good grip, turn the pliers in CLOCKWISE direction for 90°. You will feel something give away and it will turn more easy, that is the lock giving away. After you have done that, just pull the head rest out of the seat. And that’s it, all done ! To put all together back, just plug in the head rest and turn the pins ANTI clockwise.
