The MicroTrack 24/96 can be connected to a computer via the USB connection to transfer audio files. The USB port is also used to recharge the internal battery of the MicroTrack 24/96. Typically, a computer’s USB port will supply enough power to recharge the MicroTrack 24/96’s battery, though a USB power supply is also provided for charging without a computer.
The MicroTrack 24/96 has an 1/8” microphone port which supplies 5V for electret microphones like the included stereo “T” microphone. Two 1/4” TRS inputs accommodate mic or line level inputs, and can supply phantom power for condenser microphones. A coaxial SPDIF input is available for recording from a digital source; the MicroTrack 24/96 automatically sets the sample rate to match the incoming stream. An 1/8” headphone port and RCA line outs can be used for monitoring recordings and playback. Just as HTML documents are interpreted by a visual web browser, ConXML documents are interpreted by a virtual conversation browser. This virtual browser is connected to the mobile, IM, and email networks allowing messages described in the ConXML docu- ments to be sent and received. Through HTTP this virtual browser fetches and interprets ConXML pages from other application servers while maintaining the state of the conversation in the virtual browser. It is very simple using this architecture to build highly complex ConXML applications that extend existing web applications, since the only requirements is to output an alternate markup while using the same business logic. The design decisions needed to build a conversation application are the same used to build a web application. Some applica- tions may use static ConXML pages, while others rely on dynamic ConXML page generation using an application server like RoR, Tomcat, or PHP.

We also identify required and optional features for statically typed languages as well as conflict situations. The implementation presented in this paper is a simple prototype (a preprocessor) based on the trait flattening property [9]. It is meant to be a study case for a clean implementation.
The main problem concerning traits and statically typed languages like CSharp is about typing traits and to keep the ability to share code easily. Many approaches already exist in theory. This practical work contributes to the research about traits by presenting a simple prototype, showing the possibilities and difficulties in integrating traits in statically typed languages.
Although the focus of this work is on CSharp most of the results are directly applicable to other typed object-oriented languages. The implemented “trait flattening framework”, kept mostly language independent, would also work for most other c-like languages (with only slight modification).
Section 2 shortly introduces traits. The following sections cover the basics about CSharp, give a short overview about a first dirty-prototype done in CSharp itself and contain some more extensive descriptions, results and practical research by doing the final implementation using Smalltalk.
