  • Pain Free ASP.NET 2.0 ObjectDataSource Generation
  • Microsoft provides a very simple layer between the web interface (asp.net 2.0) and the database. The object they use to perform this is the SqlDataSource. It works very well in many cases. It’s fast, easy to use and great for demonstration of technology and to show how fast you can program database type applications. It falls apart (IMHO) when the application starts getting larger and requiring more customization. It’s also very hard to maintain because at the end of the day, it puts most of what it does in the aspx page itself. The ObjectDataSource on the other hand completely abstracts the web interface from the database. This means that you can completely isolate the web interface from directly going against data tables. Because this layer sits between the web and the database, it allows for complex transformations of incoming data to the back end databases. This would be near impossible (and unreadable) with the SqlDataSource. In general, the bad news about ObjectDataSource’s is that they are bulky to program. Lots and lots of repetition, lots of attribute lists and lots of chances to make small mistakes that are hard to find. This being the case, it is just screaming out for some kind of code generator and hence the name, “Pain Free ODS Generator” Who This is For The Pain Free ObjectDataSource Generator (PF ODS Gen) is for engineers who just read the Why part above and knew exactly what I was talking about. It’s for engineers who know how to build ObjectDataSources
  • Zeus: Master of Olympus - Games Cheats Hints & Trainer PC pdf
  • Witness Greek cities in all their glory Zeus: Master of Olympus is probably the greatest city builder to date and I might even add that it’s even better than its predecessor, Pharaoh. The simplicity and the ingenious symbiosis between Greek mythology and this great genre has tuned Zeus into a memorabilia, a God among mortals if I may say so. Here are some cheats and hints to help you in your adventures: Cheat mode: Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + C, then enter one of the following case-sensitive codes to activate the corresponding cheat function. For example, Thesues’ Hall needs to be built by the palace, surrounded by walls and have good appeal. On maps where space is at a premium this can be difficult to accomplish. To get around this, after you have filled the requirements to summon the hero, and while the hero is on his/her way to the city, you can demolish the hall and any of the structures you had to build to meet the requirements. Then, rebuild the hall where it can be connected to a road. The hero will not care and will serve your city as
  • Checking Microsoft Windows Systems for Signs of Compromise
  • This guide does not cover the administrative aspects of a compromise, rather it is intended to outline useful tips in finding malware, links to tools for examining the system and define the reasons for undergoing this work. This document will deal with basic levels of intrusion analysis, aimed mainly at intrusions on desktop systems, or initial examination of servers. It is not an in depth technical discussion of recovery of mission critical servers. It should also be noted that a number of these tools will change the file system - this will more than likely make the drive inadmissible as evidence. If you think you might want to involve law enforcement, this isn't the guide to read! A compromise can occur in a number of ways, possibly a machine was unpatched against a certain vulnerability, or the user is using weak passwords (particularly on Windows shares) or the user 'clicked on the wrong thing'. However the machine has been compromised, it is important to analyze the system to work out how the intruders got in, as this will give you the means for preventing entry in the future - it is useless to reformat and reinstall a box, only to leave the same way in wide open. Understanding the mode of entry can also help determine if other machines on your site have been compromised, i.e. was entry gained through a service unique to this machine, or common to the whole site or department ? However entry was gained, one of the most

  • Network Effects and Microsoft
  • The economic theory of network effects has received a great deal of sustained attention, as it appears to capture some of the most important features of modern high tech industries. The positive implications of the theory are important for understanding the structure of those industries, especially over time. They include positive feedback in the decision rules of individual actors, indeterminacy of equilibrium, lock-in to particular network standards, first-mover advantages or barriers to entry, high inertia for established standards but high volatility for nascent ones, and strategic competition that is intense in the period of establishing a network standard, then largely absent after lock-in. This is not the simplest body of implications to test, for two reasons. As the theory involves strong elements of positive feedback and the resulting coordination, econometric testing faces severe difficulties associated with distinguishing the behavior of different actors. Another critical implication of the theory, multiple equilibria and the resulting indeterminacy, poses very difficult problems for the empirical scholar of attempting to observe what didn‘t happen. This paper tests the theory by looking at business documents from the Microsoft antitrust case. While the documents are public because attorneys thought they would be useful in the policy context of a trial, my use is entirely positive, not normative. The unique perspective offered by internal documents gives us an opportunity to examine the relationship between the theory and the marketplace in several ways. Microsoft is a very analytical firm, and thinks of itself as involved in complex strategic games involving many
  • Creating a Paperspace Template
  • Since my first days with DesignCad, a paperspace template was not available until I created one and imported the file into my existing drawing file, filling in the necessary details into the titleblock before printing. Frankly, it was a pain until DesignCad came out with paperspace templates. To the new user, the existing templates are quite and more than suitable and may indeed be suitable for some experienced users and customers alike, but from time to time or as is required, an up to date template is required to: 1. look professional, 2. convey the information required by a given standard i.e. local council or Patents Office. 3. Your drawing standards and template requirements have changed. My own business has a drawing template log, where any changes to templates are noted and dated. Why? For quality reasons and if my company is audited, I can show the auditor the trail of changes, if asked. To the new user, creating templates can be a daunting task, even to a reasonably experienced user, so with this tutorial, I will endeavour to guide you through the task. Paperspace templates are all based on a standard, being ISO, DIN, JIS, ANSI to name but some. Most, if not all are based on the ISO Standard. Download pdf Creating a Paperspace Template
  • Ford Sierra Service and Repair Manuals PDF
  • Ford Sierra was first introduced in late 1982 with the option of seven different engines and four different trim levels. This manual covers the four cylinder in-line petrol engines, but other models in the range are fitted with V6 or diesel engines. The Sierra was introduced by Ford as the successor to the Cortina and initially received a mixed reception as it was one of the first vehicles to make use of the aeroback body style designed to reduce the air drag coefficient to a minimum in the interests of fuel economy. Mechanically the Sierra is similar to the Cortina with the exception of all-round independent suspension. Initially, 1.3, 1.6 and 2.0 litre SOHC carburettor engines were available, with Hatchback and Estate body styles. In late 1984, a 1.8 litre SOHC engine became available and in 1985, a performance orientated 2.0 litre SOHC fuel injection engine was introduced. Towards the end of 1986, the 1.3 litre engine was phased out. In order to fill a gap in the range, a Saloon body style, designated the Sapphire, was introduced in early 1987 and shortly afterwards, a 1.8 litre CVH engine replaced the previously used 1.8 litre SOHC engine throughout the model range. A 1.6 litre CVH engine was introduced in September 1991 to replace the 1.6 litre SOHC engine used previously, this engine being broadly similar to the original 1.8 litre CVH engine which was in turn uprated in March, 1992. A 2.0 litre DOHC (Double OverHead Camshaft) engine was
  • The Eclipse 3.0 platform: Adopting OSGi Technology PDF Download
  • Eclipse was mainly designed to be a tooling platform, but with Version 3.0, Eclipse is now evolving toward a Rich Client Platform (RCP). This change, driven by the open-source community, brought a whole set of new requirements and challenges for the Eclipse platform, such as dynamic plug-in management, services, security, and improved performance. This paper describes the path from the proprietary Eclipse 2.1 runtime to the new Eclipse 3.0 runtime based on OSGie speci?cations. It details the motivation for such a change and discusses the challenges this change presented. 1 Although Eclipse was initially created to serve as an open platform for tools, its architecture was designed so that its components could be used to build essentially any client application. Now in Release 3.0, Eclipse has reinvented itself, evolving toward a 2 Rich Client Platform (RCP). The RCP is a natural progression toward integrating not only tools but Download The Eclipse 3.0 platform: Adopting OSGi Technology Manual
