  • Hi. In this tutorial I gonna show Ya sum stuff about Maya PaintFX. There are various possibilities to use PaintFX. You can paint: attributes, expressions, scripts. You can also make your own script or expression and paint it on. In this tutorial I'll focus on making grass, adding sum dynamics and animating it. So let's get started. Open Maya and create NewScene. I use the HotBox coz this is the best solution for me to navigating through Maya interface. You can use standard menu sets of course if you more like it :) Tips: To open up -show- the HotBox press and hold down the Space button on your Next we need to create sum geometry to paint on it, coz PaintFX will be created on curves on surface. Create NurbsPlane. Scale it a little bit so ya get sumthin' like that. There are few diffrent ways to create PaintFX.   • Over the last several years, computing systems based on adaptive learning with fine-grained parallel architectures have moved from obscurity to front-page prominence. These systems derive some of their novel architecture from ideas gleaned from biology, hence the name "neural network". Although many of the ideas behind this field are not new, improved computing hardware, better understanding of learning algorithms, and limitations of traditional approaches have combined to renew interest in neural nets. The ultimate success of electronic neural networks will depend on their effectiveness in solving real-world problems. Therefore it is important to choose realistic benchmarks as a focus for research in algorithms and hardware for neural-network computing. Optical character recognition (OCR) of handwritten digits is such a benchmark problem: it has a clearly defined commercial importance and a level of difficulty that makes it challenging, yet it is not so large as to be completely intractable. We have demonstrated that a neural net can perform handwritten digit recognition with state-of-the-art accuracy. The solution required "automatic learning" and generalization from thousands of training examples, and also required designing into the system considerable knowledge about the task — neither engineering alone nor learning from examples alone would have sufficed. The resulting network is well-suited for implementation on workstations or PCs, and can take advantage of digital signal processors (DSPs) or custom VLSI.   • There have been several reports of “printing problems” in MS Word reported over the last couple of months. After much research and testing, I believe that I have been able to determine the probable cause of these problems and a potential fix. Microsoft Word is highly customizable program. The problem arises when changes are made to the default printer settings without the user knowing this has happened. This could be interpreted as a “corruption”, but if used as designed, it really is a feature. To better understand how to avoid this problem, users need to better understand one of the basic processes of the MS Word program. Word maintains a file called normal.dot. This is a template file – the basic pattern that Word uses every time that it starts a new blank document. This file can be customized if, for example, users always print to non-standard size paper or wanted specific margins or tabs. The “problem” appears to be caused by changes being made to this normal.dot template. My guess is that there are one or more documents “floating around” where the template has been changed and the current user inadvertently updates their own normal.dot to match.   • Jetta IV, Golf IV Triple Gauge Panel Installation Instructions Tools Recommended: Radio Removal Keys 1. Prior to installing gauge panel, have all wires and tubing run to gauges and tested. It is recommended that all wires be left long to free workspace behind the panel. 2. Remove radio using radio removal keys. Snap keys in. Pull up and out. With radio hanging out, cover climate controls with a soft cloth to avoid scratches. Push in tabs on side of radio to remove keys. 3. Remove storage bin by pulling straight out. 4. Install center gauge into panel using standard U brackets included with most aftermarket gauges. If your 2 1/16 gauges did not come with mounting brackets, fabricate some, or order the standard brackets. Tighten center gauge tight by hand. Over tightening gauge will cause panel to bend. 5. The outer mounting brackets must be modified to install the triple gauge panel. There are two ways to modify the brackets to secure the panel. As illustrated to the right, you can simply use the outer leg of the mounting bracket to secure the gauge panel in place. To do this, you will need to cut the outer leg 1/8” shorter than the inner leg, and bend outward to extend beyond the side of the gauge panel. When installing, you will need at least ¼” of slack between the mounting bracket legs and the appropriate ribs along the inside of the center console. If need be, cut the bottom of the legs proportionally to allow enough slack. Similar
