For this whole scheme to work, you need a few tools. These include:
• .NET Framework SDK
• Microsoft SQL Server
The .NET Framework SDK is a free download from the Microsoft website. You go to the Microsoft website, click on download, select “.NET” then search—then pick and download the 100MB (or so) .NET Framework SDK 1.1 package. The SQL Server is a bit of a different matter. Apparently Microsoft (in all their wisdom) wishes to make it relatively difficult for developers to get a copy of their server—so they’re selling it for $49.99 : http://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/development.asp There is a way around buying SQL Server: Use the school provided server. Another possible way around is to download the “Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000)”, which is really just SQL Server, except without any tools. (ie: like MySQL server without the useful ‘mysql’ program to interact with the database). There are many ‘Query’ programs online to use instead, like “SqlBuddy” (search sourceforge.net for it). That's an unfortunate coincidence, but the math can still work out in favor of the diesel-powered Jetta. Looking at today's gas prices (6/30/2008), driving 15,000 highway miles per year, you'd save $376.22 per year in fuel by driving the diesel Jetta.
Details on the Jetta TDI's $21,990 base price are still sketchy, but we assume that the price premium over the gasoline-engined version is about $1000. That means that the TDI will still pay for itself in less than 45,000 miles of highway driving.
But that's assuming that you wouldn't rather have the diesel in the first place. I, for one, would rather drive a Jetta TDI every day than a 2.5-liter gas Jetta - especially if it only had two pedals in the driver's footwell. The gas Jetta gets a conventional six-speed automatic; the diesel gets VW's wonderful DSG twin-clutch transmission. That's reason enough.

First, we’ll explore the functionality of Chimera and export VRML files of the reovirus attachment protein sigma1, then we’ll use the ‘multiscale model’ option in Chimera to export the reovirus core as VRML. We will then use PyMOL to create a cartoon protein representation and export it to VRML.
