  • Yahoo! BLUEPRINT Mobile Application Platform
  • The Blueprint language is an XML markup set based partly on XForms. Applications are hosted on your own Web server, which must respond to HTTP requests from Yahoo!’s server by returning valid Blueprint pages; Yahoo’s server acts as an intermediary between your application and the end-user’s hand-held device. To host a Blueprint application, you must submit a package containing configuration and resource files to Yahoo!. The application package does not contain any Blueprint markup or scripting code; these are supplied directly by your server at runtime. There are several ways to deploy a Blueprint application. Options include browser-based Mobile Sites, Yahoo! Go Widgets, and stand-alone Mobile Apps (when available) Getting Started: 1 Download the SDK at mobile.yahoo.com/devcenter/downloads 2 Read the documentation at developer.yahoo.com/mobile/blueprint 3 Build your service on your own server and return Blueprint XML. 4 Read the Deployment Guide at developer.yahoo.com/mobile/blueprintdeployguide and publish your service at mobile.yahoo.com/developers/manage Download pdf Yahoo! • Tire Balance, Vehicle Ride & Vibration PDF
  • As a result of advancements in automotive technology, today’s tire and wheel/rim fitments require special attention. By design, radial tire construction and low aspect ratios contribute to a vehicle’s ride and handling quality. Proper tire mounting, balancing and installation are critical to attaining a smooth vehicle ride. Vehicle vibration and a suspected problem tire may actually be due to an improperly balanced tire and wheel assembly or related to the mechanical condition of the vehicle. BALANCING The technical definition of balance is the uniform distribution of mass about an axis of rotation, where the center of gravity is in the same location as the center of rotation. A balanced tire is one where mass of the tire – when mounted on its wheel and the car’s axle – is uniformly distributed around the axle (its center of rotation). Balanced tires can spell the difference between a positive and negative driving experience. Drivers of new, high performance or luxury vehicles may be more sensitive to imbalance problems, but no driver is happy with an annoying vibration. An out-of-balance tire and wheel assembly: • Degrades ride quality and driver comfort. • Shortens the life of tires, bearings, shock absorber, and other suspension components. Vibration is the most noticeable effect of imbalance. • It is dependent on vehicle speed and may be felt in the steering wheel, seats or floor board. • It often first becomes apparent between 40 and 45 mph and changes in magnitude with greater speeds. Because of this, Yokohama customers with ride complaints,

  • In-Circuit Programming the ACEx Family of Microcontrollers ACE1001/8001, ACE1101, ACE1202, ACE1502 Tutorial
  • Introduction the ACEx (Arithmetic Controller Engine) family of programmable integrated circuits is designed for applications requiring high performance, low power, and small size. The ACEx family supports in-circuit programming of the code EEPROM array, the data EEPROM array, and initialization registers 1 and 2. In-circuit programming of an ACEx device is accomplished through a 4-pin interface. Data is shifted serially in and out of the device using a 32-bit command/response word. This 32-bit command and response word contains all the necessary information to program data to the EEPROM arrays or the initialization register. This application note provides a detailed description of the programming interface, the 32-bit command/response word, and the programming procedures. In addition, this application note also provides all timing specifications for the programming signals. • 1. Create a ‘Helix’ spline object from the create panel. Make sure there are plenty of turns in it and that both radii are the same. 2. Add an extrude modifier and adjust the amount so it just about reaches the next coil, get it as close as possible but don’t spend ages doing it as step 4 will sort it out. 3. As you will notice the tube is inside out so add a 'Normals' modifier to flip them and turn it the right way. 4. Now as there is still a gap in-between the coils add a 'Vertex Weld' modifier and increase the value just enough to weld the gap together. 5. Now, add an 'Edit Poly' modifier and go into 'Edge' sub-object mode, then select one edge travelling the length of the tube and hit 'Ring' (Alt+R) to select the entire helix. 6. Click the small grey box next to 'Connect' in the modify panel and give the selection 1 edge segment. You will now have two spirals travelling the length of the tube. (I forgot to do an image of this stage :) 7. Select one edge of one spiral and click 'Loop' (Alt+L) in the modify panel to select the entire spiral. Then click the 'Scale' tool (R) and drag the web connecting the two width axes for the tube (shown in yellow in the image below), this will create your thread depth. • Apache POI - HWPF - Java API to Handle Microsoft Word Files
  • HWPF is the name of our port of the Microsoft Word 97(-2007) file format to pure Java. It does not support the new Word 2007 .docx file format, which is not OLE2 based. HWPF is still in early development. It is in the scratchpad section of the SVN. You will need to ensure you either have a recent SVN checkout, or a recent SVN nightly build (including the scratchpad jar!) Source in the org.apache.poi.hwpf.model tree is the old legacy code refactored into an object model. Source code in the org.apache.poi.hwpf.extractor tree is a wrapper of this to facilitate easy extraction of interesting things (eg the Text). Source code in the org.apache.poi.hdf tree is the old legacy code. At the moment we unfortunately do not have someone taking care for HWPF and fostering its development. What we need is someone to stand up, take this thing under his hood as his baby and push it forward. Ryan Ackley, who put a lot of effort into HWPF, is no longer on board, so HWPF is an orphan child waiting to be adopted. If you are interested in becoming the new HWPF pointman, you should look into the Microsoft Word internals. A good starting point seems to be Ryan Ackley's overview. This document contains a link to a detailled Word format description you can find somewhere at http://www.wotsit.org/. Please do not contact Ryan Ackley directly, because he is working for a company now that signed a NDA with Microsoft and thus he will be no longer

  • 1992-95 VW Corrado VR6 Front Big Brake Upgrade Installation Instructions
  • Most 17” wheels will clear the outer diameter of the caliper. Wheel weights mounted on the inside of the wheel may need to be repositioned. The more critical clearance is the spokes of the wheel to the outer face of the caliper. Do not assume an 18, 19 or even 20 inch wheel will clear the outer face of the caliper. A minimum distance of 60.81mm, measured from the outer rotor face to the inside face of the wheel spokes. This is the net metal-to-metal measurement. We recommend at least 2mm additional clearance to clear the ST-40 caliper on our big brake kits. Please refer to the Wheel Fitment section of our website to confirm any wheel fitment issues. Final fitment of the wheel to the caliper is the responsibility of the customer. Wheel Spacers Wheel spacers can provide extra clearance to the outer face of the caliper. This will also space out the entire wheel, widening the track width of the vehicle. Basic suspension settings will generally not be adversely affected by a slight widening (up to 3mm per side) of the track. Fender clearances should be checked on lowered cars, and longer lug studs or wheel bolts may be required. It is the responsibility of the customer to insure wheel spacers are properly specified and installed. Brake Vibration The most common causes of brake vibration are run-out and thickness variations on the rotor. Double disc grinding insures the rotor run-out is within +/- 0.002” when installed on our aluminum hat. Thickness variation is
