Using Facebook Pages to reach users: the experiences of University of WolverhamptonSocial networking websites have been steadily gaining popularity over the last few years. A recent OFCOM report (OFCOM, 2008) demonstrated that 22% of adults in the UK had registered with a social networking site (the figure is highest for 16-24 year olds and decreases with age). Facebook is, at present, the most visited social networking site and has over 130 million active users (Facebook, 2008a). This article shares the experiences of University of Wolverhampton’s pilot project into the use of Facebook pages for academic libraries.
During 2007, we noticed that many of our students using PCs in the University of Wolverhampton Learning Centres were regular visitors of Facebook. Each member of the University is given a University e-mail address as well as access to our VLE, but from talking to students, I found that some were choosing to use Facebook as the platform to communicate with their cohort and organise group work.
Academic staff had also started to use Facebook, mainly as a forum for social interaction within their classes but also as a way for students to communicate with them. Some libraries had been using Facebook to set up a profile for the library. However, Facebook regulations permitted this (profiles should be for individuals only) and many were closed. In November 2007, Facebook began Facebook Pages which is designed for businesses and organisations (including libraries) to create a presence. By creating a Facebook page rather than a profile, other Facebook members can become a “fan” and be sent updates via Facebook.Hewlett Packard HP Maintenance and Service Guide ManualHP Pavilion zx5000 Notebook PC HP Pavilion zv5000 Notebook PC Compaq Presario R3000 Notebook PC Series HP Compaq Business Notebook nx9100 Series This guide is a troubleshooting reference used for maintaining and servicing the notebook. download manualTowards C# program verification: C#-kernel and its axiomatic semanticsVerification of programs presented in widely-used object-oriented programming languages, such as C++, C#, Java, is a subject of much current interest. The well-known approach to program verification is based on Hoare-like axiomatic semantics. Difficulties of developing compact and transparent axiomatic semantics of object-oriented programming languages are connected with such constructs as overloading, dynamic binding of methods, exception handling, static initialization of classes. Axiomatic semantics has been proposed for different sequential subsets of Java in [3, 4, 7–10]. While compact and transparent axiomatic semantics has been developed for separate difficult Java constructs, it turned out to be cumbersome and inconvenient for the practical use in the case of a wide sequential Java subset.
In this paper we consider a wide sequential C# subset called C#-light. C#-light programs include all sequential C# constructs except for attributes, destructors, using statements, checked and unchecked constructs and unsafe code constructs. To simplify C#-light program verification, C#-light is translated into an intermediate language C#-kernel, for which a Hoare-like axiomatic semantics is proposed. Unlike standard axiomatic semantics, our forward rules can generate lazy verification conditions which include functional symbols denoting postponed extractions of invariants of labelled statements as well as postponed invocations of methods and delegates. These functional symbols are eliminated by refinement algorithms.

To make use of the service, you require an account from COMMZGATE as well as the IP address of the gateway on the Internet. Please contact your account manager if you do not have the above. HTTP Methods:
The POST method may be used for the APIs unless explicitly stated otherwise.
There are two categories of APIs:
1. MT (Mobile Terminate) APIs involve sending messages from the MMG to Mobile Device. The APIs are:
1) Send Message
2) Check Balance (Tokens are deducted upon each successful MT request)
2. MO (Mobile Originate) APIs involve receiving messages from the Mobile Device to MMG.
There is currently only one API:
1) Receive Message
For MT and Application APIs, http POST is initiated by the External Application and directed to the MMG.
For MO APIs, http POST is initiated by the MMG and directed to the External Application.
This document defines the APIs, their parameters, and return values. Note that parameter names are case sensitive. Also, none of the parameter values that are passed in should contain the pipe “|” character. The standard HTTP encoding rules must be used when passing text as parameters.
Download pdf Mobile Messaging Gateway HTTP API Connectivity Guide Version 2.0Can C# Replace Java in CS1 and CS2?Microsoft has developed a language called C# (—see sharp“) that it claims will allow programmers to —quickly and easily build solutions“ for its new.NET platform [3]. The language has much in common with Java, particularly in those features emphasized in CS1 and CS2 courses. It also includes some of the desirable features of C++ that are missing from Java as well as some new features not available in either language. This paper explores the pros and cons of teaching CS1 and CS2 using C# instead of Java and concludes with a discussion of the author‘s plans for teaching such a course in the fall of 2002.
Bill Gates has referred to the .NET technologies as —the breakthrough tools that will allow developers to write the next generation of applications“ [2]. He might be spouting marketing hype, but the release of .NET clearly constitutes a watershed for the company.
Many schools will choose to ignore what Microsoft does, but others will find the Microsoft connection appealing. Few departments would sacrifice the quality of instruction just to teach .practical. tools that are currently used in industry. But if C# turns out to be as useful as Java in teaching the CS curriculum, some schools will choose C# instead of Java because of the particular interests of their students, their school or their community.

The reasons for this shift were documented in a report from an ad-hoc committee formed by theiSight Users Guide ManualIn a few easy steps, you can get started video conferencing with friends, colleague ,and family in real-time,full-motion video and audio.
