A threads facility allows you to write programs with multiple simultaneous points of execution, synchronizing through shared memory. The paper describes the basic thread and synchronization primitives, then for each primitive provides a tutorial on how to use it. The tutorial sections provide advice on the best ways to use the primitives, give warnings about what can go wrong and offer hints about how to avoid these pitfalls. The paper is aimed at experienced programmers who want to acquire practical expertise in writing concurrent programs. The programming language used is C#, but most of the tutorial applies equally well to other languages with thread support, such as Java.
Almost every modern operating system or programming environment provides support for concurrent programming. The most popular mechanism for this is some provision for allowing multiple lightweight “threads” within a single address space, used from within a single program.
Programming with threads introduces new difficulties even for experienced programmers. Concurrent programming has techniques and pitfalls that do not occur in sequential programming. Many of the techniques are obvious, but some are obvious only with hindsight. Some of the pitfallsSAP Free Tutorial: Translation Tools for Translators (BC-DOC-TTL) PDFThis topic gives you a quick overview of the functionality in transaction SE63. However, for a detailed explanation of the various functions, please refer to the individual topics. Working With SE63 You translate short texts and long texts in the respective editors within transaction SE63. To call up this transaction, either: • Enter /NSE63 in the command field in the initial screen of the R/3 System • Choose Tools ? ABAP/4 Workbench ? Utilities ? Translation ? Short/Long texts on the initial screen of the R/3 System. You can translate texts either: • By using a worklist • By calling up the objects directly.
Worklists Most objects requiring translation are assigned to development classes. When you create a worklist, you can include one or more development classes. All the objects belonging to the development classes you choose are then included in your worklist. To create a worklist, proceed as follows:

Voice over Internet Protocol—VoIP—is a new way to make and receive telephone calls using a broadband Internet connection rather than a regular phone line.VoIP converts your phone call—actually, the voice signal from your phone—into a digital signal that travels through the Internet to the peon you are calling. If you are calling a plain old telephone number, the signal is converted back at the other end. If you're comfortable with new technology, you may be interested in learning more about VoIP. OnGuard Online suggests that it's smart to do some research on VoIP before signing up for it. Most services using VoIP allow you to call anyone with a telephone number-including local, long distance, cellular, and international numbe. Othe may allow you to call only
downloadLinux Man Page HowtoWhy do we write documentation? Silly question. Because we want others to be able to use our program, library function or whatever we have written and made available. But writing documentation is not all there is to it: Documentation must be accessible. If it's hidden in some non?standard place where the documentation?related tools won't find it ?? how can it serve its purpose?
• Documentation must be reliable and accurate. There's nothing more annoying than having program behaviour and documentation disagree. Users will curse you, send you hate mail and throw your work into the bit bucket, with the firm intent to never install anything written by that jerk again.
• The historical and well known way documentation is accessed on UNIX is via the man(1) command. This HOWTO describes what you have to do to write a man page that will be correctly processed by the documentation? related tools. The most important of these tools are man(1), xman(1x), apropos(1), makewhatis(8) and catman(8). Reliability and accuracy of the information are, of course, up to you. But even in this respect you will find some ideas below that help you avoid some common glitches.
How are man pages accessed?
You need to know the precise mechanism for acccessing man pages in order to give your man page the right name and install it in the right place. Each man page should be categorized in a specific section, denoted by a single character. The most common sections under Linux, and their human readable names, are:
Section TheSecuring Web 2.0: are your web applications vulnerable? The definition of Web 2.0 is still being debated despite extensive discussion. Its staunchest advocates proclaim it a complete philosophical and technological reworking of how the web functions. Others declare that it is meaningless. However, most agree on common characteristics of a Web 2.0 application, such as increased interactivity, the acceptance of user input for building community and a reliance on client-side functionality. Additionally, Web 2.0 applications can be more vulnerable to exploitation by hackers than their predecessors. Hackers spend most of their time gathering information. When Web 2.0 applications push functionality and code to users, they provide hackers with information that can be used for formulating attacks. Often, old attacks such as cross-site scripting become more dangerous when used against Web 2.0 applications. This white paper defines some of the common technological components of Web 2.0 applications and discusses ways of securing them against exploitation.
Web 2.0 components
Web 2.0 uses the web for delivering information that is often created through community contribution. Wikis and blogs are good examples of these types of appli cations. The main attribute of a Web 2.0 application is interactivity. More functionality is on the client, and less is on the server. As a result, requests are updated in the browser without refreshing the entire page. For example, consider Google Maps. Instead of a static page, you can drill down or zoom in and out of a map without making requests for a new page. Notes:
- The Anandtech guide says you need to use a Torx 12 screwdriver. There is no such thing. You need a Torx 10 screwdriver.
- Removing the grey side grill on the hard drive side is a little tricky.
The first friction tab is actually inaccessible from the top holes in the case, so you need to stick your screwdriver in the hole by where the hard drive button is and unclip it. (See Pic)
- In order to push in the back clips, you can do one of two things. You can use a thin metal object such as a precision flathead screwdriver / bobby pin / paperclip OR you can make an opening “key” out of a CD spindle case. The key would not work for me, it was too flimsy, but it works for some people. You can purchase an “unlock kit.”
- If all you want to do is just flash the firmware, you only need to remove the six long screws on the bottom.
