Creating a Poster in Microsoft PowerPointThis handout will guide you through setting up a poster in PowerPoint, inserting text and images, and preparing the poster for printing.
Creating your document
A poster created in PowerPoint usually consists of a single slide.
Launch Microsoft PowerPoint. PowerPoint will automatically open a blank presentation.
To resize the slide, select Page Setup from the File menu.
In the dialog box that pops up, select Custom under Slides sized for:
Then enter the width and height of your poster, in inches. PowerPoint will automatically set portrait or landscape orientation based on the measurements you enter.
The maximum size PowerPoint will allow for a slide is 56”. If you want your poster to be
bigger than 56”, create it at half size and then print it at 200% scale. In this example, the

Insert text and graphics as you normally would in PowerPoint.
Remember that if you are designing your poster at half the printed size, everything on your poster will also be half the printed size. So, if you want your title to be 1.5” high (108 pt), and you are designing your poster at half size, set the font to 54 pt.
Inserting a PowerPoint slide
You can insert a PowerPoint slide into your poster by saving it as an image.
1. In PowerPoint, select the slide you would like to place.
2. Select Save as from the File menu.

Programming with the Zope 3 Component ArchitectureThis tutorial provides a short introduction to developing with Zope 3. It provides an example of creating a content objects and associated views, adapters, and utilities. The skills learned here are applied in most facets of Zope 3 development.
We Zope to be much more approachable to Python programmers. You should be able to use existing Python objects in Zope with few changes. We want developers to be able to learn Zope a little bit at a time. We provide greater support for reuse through components.
Let's look at a minimal class that is usable in Zope. As an example, we'll use objects that manage personal information.
We normally organize our software into packages. We can put our packages anywhere, as long as they are in Zope's Python path. We'll create a buddydemo package in the src directory, which is in the Python path. We create an empty __init__.py file in buddydemo, so that Python will treat buddydemo as a package. We'll create a buddy.py module to hold our class, named Buddy. The class is very simple. It stores information in attributes. It provides a single method that combines the first and last name. There are no Zope- specific mix- in classes. We do subclass Persistent. Doing so makes our life easier, because then Zope will manage our data in its object database. We don't have to subclass Persistent. If we don't though, we need to manage our data some other way (e.g. in a relational database).

Time required: 50 minutes
Tools required: 3 flat bladed screwdrivers, large, small and another in between. Best option would be a hot air gun, or a powerful hairdryer would work but will probably take longer.
Now heat the bonding with your hot air gun. I started from the right, Heat from about where the clip was and work your way right and down the side, don’t keep the gun in the same place for too long as you will melt the plastic. Once you feel the bonding is soft enough take your small screwdriver and scratch out all the softened bonding, don’t worry if it sticks to the glass it will come off easy later with a little rub. It dries and goes hard quite quickly so repeat the above till you have removed most of the bond.
Now from where the clip was work your way left across the top heating and scratching all the bond out just like your did previously, but do take your time, don’t rush anything.
Once you have removed most of the bond from the top and both sides, place your middle size screwdriver in the gap (again where about that clip was), and try to lever the glass away, but be gentle.
