SEO in the Web 2.0 EraTo those of us whose passion for the growth of the World Wide Web is exceeded only by the marketing possibilities that emerge from that growth, the Internet has become a playground for the imagination. There is a large number of marketers, however, who are fascinated by the Web but approach its marketing capabilities more out of necessity than lifestyle. The Internet’s capacity has advanced in so many areas in the past few years that marketers playing catch-up are at a significant disadvantage. Marketing directors and account managers with traditional media backgrounds need to expand their breadth of knowledge in order to make informed decisions in today’s e-commerce.
This article provides clarification surrounding the fairly recent buzzword “Web 2.0” and focuses on the evolution and future of the search engine born occupation of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO and its implications are expanding so fast and in so many directions that it has never been more important for C level professionals and traditionally oriented marketers to fully understand the world of Internet search.
When the first search engines began cataloging the World Wide Web in the mid-1990s, obtaining a high rank on search engine results pages (SERP) was not particularly difficult or secretive. It was the webmasters who submitted URLs to the engines and communicated a page’s relevancy to a keyword search through keyword meta tags in the HTML code. Early engines, like AltaVista, struggled with providing relevant search results because webmasters, who were paid on a cost- per-impression basis at theCase Study on the Bluetooth Vulnerabilities in Mobile DevicesSummary As the widespread use and acceptance of Bluetooth continues concerns are being raised related to security vulnerabilities and privacy issues inherent in the use of this technology. Inadequate device resources and lack of user awareness has compounded this issue where the emphasis on design constraints, functionality and ease of use sometimes outweigh security concerns. Recently some concerns have being highlighted relating to the possible security vulnerabilities in commonly used devices, and also the possibility of the imperceptible tracking of device users through the use of distributed and connected Bluetooth sensor nodes.
This paper discusses some of these issues and highlights a number of vulnerabilities in the current generation of Bluetooth enabled devices. In particular, the current methods being used to exploit these vulnerabilities are discussed and the results from a case study are presented which identify the percentage of popular devices susceptible to this type of misuse. Key words: Bluetooth Security, Bluesnarfing, Bluebug, Privacy.

The primary network administration tool for Diskeeper is Diskeeper Administrator Edition, a single point of control for all your Diskeeper administration needs. However, sites using Microsoft Group Policy can use the Diskeeper.adm administrative template file available from Executive Software to control many aspects of Diskeeper operation through Group Policy. The Diskeeper.adm template file is available free of charge from the Executive Software web site at www.executive.com/diskeeper/grouppolicy.asp.
Active Directory Users and Computers and the Group Policy Editor are the desktop tools used to administer Group Policy on your network. When the Diskeeper template is installed, these tools will allow you to configure Diskeeper options such as scheduling, defragmentation methods and defragmentation priority.
Note: This section assumes you have a certain level of experience using the Group Policy Editor. Refer to the Microsoft Group Policy documentation for complete information about using the Group Policy Editor.

If electrical power is lost, servers can fail without warning and software corruption can occur even with journaled file systems. UPS devices protect from voltage spikes, surges, overvoltage, undervoltage and other nastiness. They protect the most expensive and critical elements of IT infrastructure. A UPS also gives critical systems enough time to gracefully shut down and switch off before the UPS batteries are exhausted. If possible an email message can be sent to the outside world before everything goes dark.
Systems can also be configured and scripted to return automatically once power has restored and a minimum battery capacity has been reached. Unfortunately, even where a UPS has been purchased, the majority of installations I have come across have little or no configuration in place. It is not just a case of buying a UPS off the shelf and plugging it in. Armed with a little more information and a bit of extra time, a UPS can be used to offer much better protection from power failure events. This document is intended to assist with specifying and deploying UPS for Apple server installations. Implementation Process ” Identify devices requiring UPS protection; ” calculate power draw; ” estimate run time requirements; ” specify required UPS battery capacity; ” select manufacturer and model; ” install on site with appropriate electrical wiring; ” configure UPS communications and software for graceful shutdown and restart sequences; ” scheduled testing;Developing Applications with WebLogic SIP ServerThe SIP Servlet API is a part of JAIN APIs and being standardized as JSR116 of JCP (Java Community Process). The SIP Servlet API version 1.0 was published in February, 2003.
Note: In this document, the term “SIP Servlet” is used to represent the API, and “SIP servlet” is used to represent an application created with the API. J2EE provides Java Servlet that is a main technology of building Web applications. Although Java Servlet is used only to develop HTTP protocol-based applications on a Web application server, it basically has functions as a generic API for server applications. SIP Servlet is defined as the generic servlet API with SIP-specific functions added.
SIP Servlets are very similar to HTTP Servlets, and HTTP servlet developers will quickly adapt to the programming model. The service level defined by both HTTP and SIP Servlets is very similar, and you can easily design applications that support both HTTP and SIP. Listing 1 shows an example of a simple SIP servlet.
Listing 1-1 List 1: SimpleSIPServlet.java
package com.bea.example.simple;
import java.io.IOException;
import javax.servlet.*;
import javax.servlet.sip.*;
public class SimpleSIPServlet extends SipServlet {
protected void doMessage(SipServletRequest req)
throws ServletException, IOException
{
SipServletResponse res = req.createResponse(200);
res.send();
}
}
The above example shows a simple SIP servlet that sends back a 200 OK response to the SIP MESSAGE request. As you can see from the list, SIP Servlet and HTTP Servlet have many things in common:
1. Servlets must inherit the base class provided by the API. HTTP servlets must inherit HttpServlet, and SIP servlets must inherit SipServlet.
2. Methods doXxx must be overridden and implemented. HTTP servletsReport Runner Batch Tutorial and DocumentationReport Runner Batch runs on Windows NT, 200x, ME, XP, and Vista. Supports all versions of Crystal Reports. This version includes all of the necessary runtime files. You should still have an Advanced/Developer edition of Crystal Reports 9, 10, or 11 to meet licensing requirements.
The password for the installer is TRIAL. Registered Jeff-Net users may download and install this Batch version for free at any time. You will need to send us your seed key to receive your 90 day TRIAL license, but when you first run JNRRB, while you're waiting on the 90 day trial key, you may use the license of 'TRIAL3' to evaluate the software for a couple of days.
NOTE: If you install on a Citrix or Terminal Server or Servers in general, you must use an ADMIN ID and use Add/Remove Programs to do the install. Otherwise it will not install properly. One additional note about Citrix and Terminal Server environments: We do not limit the amount of batches that you run. In a Citrix/Terminal Server environment, allowing multiple users to randomly schedule batches to run is NOT recommended. This can cause memory issues depending on the size/speed of your server. The Crystal Reports engine uses as much memory as it can get for a given task. We seriously recommend having a Batch ‘admin’ that will handle all the scheduling and running of batches.
