Combining server-side Jetspeed Ajax services with client-side services, j2o is a paradigm shift in the way portlets are viewed and aggregated. The key change here is that Jetspeed 2.0 is a servlet-centric application: every request goes back to the server. The user interfaces experience is driven by HTTP page paradigm.
Jetspeed j2o Desktop is a client-side centric solution. The user interface is controlled on the client-side, where it intuitively belongs. Key features of the portal have been moved to the client side:
1. Page Aggregation
2. Customization
The server-side does what it does best, model and persistence:
1. Stores the model and user information.
Client-side Aggregation
Each portlet in its own HTTP request. This request delivers the content for one portlet only. The portlet aggregation process is moved to the client-side.
Client-side Customization
The server stores the portlet definitions and page information. The client-side provides the tools to customize the user's desktop.
Server-side Model
The model is stored on the server-side in standard Jetspeed persistence stores. PSML is served to the client-side, where it is in charge of aggregating the page.
The Desktop
The desktop holds portlets that are displayed to a user. With the first prototype, a desktop is modeled upon a single PSML page

The S60 shares its platform and suspension with the Volvo S80 sedan and the V70 wagon, though it is lighter and shorter than both of those models. The S60 replaces the S70 sedan (the V70 wagon continues) and is available in three different engine and equipment combinations.
All three engines are DOHC five-cylinder 20 valve units; the base model has a 2.4 litre normally aspirated engine with continuously variable valve timing (CVVT) on the intake camshaft and it produces 125 kW maximum power and 230 Nm maximum torque. This model is designated the S60 2.4 20V SE and it costs $54,950 in manual form. Next in the line-up is the S60 2.4T and with its light-pressure turbocharger and CVVT on the exhaust camshaft, it has a power output of 147 kW and a torque output of 285 Nm. The manual 2.4T is priced at $62,950.

But unlike many consumer ‘toys’, Web 2.0 actually delivers impressive benefits to the enterprise, including:
Streamlining collaboration within and beyond the enterprise
Accelerating search and information retrieval
Capturing knowledge assets and facilitating knowledge transfer
Speeding application development and deployment
Communicating with stakeholders in new ways
Some of these benefits are ‘soft’. Others are quantifiable. But all have combined to earn the attention of line-of-business managers and IT strategists alike. Web 2.0 is here to stay.
In fact, it’s now evolving into Enterprise 2.0 – the application of Web 2.0 technologies to workers using network software within an organization
Every new technology introduced into the enterprise brings with it new threats. Web 2.0 is no different, with threats including:
Infection and downtime – caused by viruses, worms, Trojans and spyware specifically carried by Web 2.0 applications
Data leaks – as staff members get lulled into a false sense of security, or intentionally share things they shouldn’t share
Legal prosecution – for illegal activities or regulatory breaches
Productivity loss – as users spend more time on blogs and social networking sites than on work
Resource waste – as servers and networks become congested with frivolous multimedia content
Reputation damage – as any of the above abuses hit the headlines
These threats may look similar to the threat landscape associated with Web and email use in general. But the unique nature of Web 2.0 technologies demand a new understanding and new defenses

For concreteness, it describes the setup actually used at Coraid. Some knowledge of UNIX and of commercial GUIs (Windows, MacOS, or recent Linux) is presumed.
This is not a technical guide to Plan 9. This is only a "guide for the perplexed" to teach you just enough Plan 9 to get you started.
The information given here is not complete my goal is to give you a useful subset. Thus I will skip some menu items and commands at every stage, the ones you do not need immediately. I assume that you will eventually read the official documentation
Plan 9 is an experimental UNIX-like operating system developed by Bell Labs and released as open-souce freeware. It has requirements comparable to Windows 95 (e.g., 32 MB RAM on a 486) and is often used in embedded systems.
That is bad Latin for, "More UNIX than the UNIXes themselves" (cf. Romanis ipsis Romanior) and sums up what Plan 9 is like. Plan 9 is based on the same ideas as early UNIX simplicity, compactness, and orthogonality but implements some of them differently, in ways that are (I would argue) closer to the spirit of UNIX than normal present-day UNIX implementations. Specifically: Instead of NFS, SAMBA, etc., there is normally just one file-sharing protocol, called 9P, and it is transparent to the user. You just carry your whole....

This work is part of an engineering education branch (REENGE) of a Brazilian Program for Engineering Development (PRODENGE). The main purpose of this work is to incentive the students application of AutoCAD at Chemical Engineering College of Campinas State University (UNICAMP). In order to accomplish this some 3-D sketches of mixers and filters were drew thrpough AutoCAD. This sketches provide a way to examine small equipment details as well as to see a full equipment, allow rotate the objects to obtain upper and side views through many simultaneous windows.
This contents are the result of a review in the literature and an access through Internet was provided so the benefits are extended to all that has got a Internet connection.
This scientific initiation paper is a part of the PRODENGE - REENGE project of the Chemical Engineering Faculty of the UNICAMP. This project has the reengineering of the engineering teaching in Brazil as its objective. In order to meet this, the national members of this project aim the engineering courses integration, the introduction of new teaching methodologies and the faraway teaching via Internet. Faraway teaching means all kinds of learning procedure which is developed by the student working interactively with the computer. Hence it can be done either in a in house Lab or in any place where Internet facilities are available.

This exciting new feature, called Dynamic Blocks, enables you to modify blocks within specific constraints. A block library might have dozens of windows (if architectural) or bolts (if mechanical). With Dynamic Blocks, you can create one block that takes the place of all these related blocks and be confident that modifications match the dimensions of their real-world objects. As a result, the process of finding the right block is much more efficient. Inserting and editing the block is practically error-free.
Furthermore, you can individually modify components of blocks. For example, within a desk set, you could move the chair, change the type of telephone, change the desk size, and specify the size of the computer’s monitor. Thereby, you can work with one block that contains multiple editable components in place of several blocks. Facilities management was never so easy!
This first of three articles explains the basic concepts of Dynamic Blocks and ends with a quick-start tutorial. Part two provides detailed documentation of the feature. Part three introduces some of the advanced uses for Dynamic Blocks.
DownloadWindows 7 to Swim in Windows Live + Yahoo? Where Will Vista SP1 and XP SP3 Fit?Traditionally, Microsoft's core business has been focused on the Windows platform and the Office suite. Windows and Office, by all means, continue to be the heart of Microsoft. The latest versions of the flagship products, Windows Vista and the Office 2007 System, made available to the public at the end of January 2007, have fueled the vast majority of the company's most recent fiscal second quarter record financial results of $16.37 billion in revenue, and $6.48 billion in operating income. With Office SP1 out of the way at the end of 2007, Microsoft is currently building Windows Vista Service Pack 1, Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows 7 client platforms, as well as putting the finishing touches on Windows Server 2008.
But on February 1st, 2008, the Redmond company managed to steal the show away from its flagship products with the $44.6 billion cash and stock unsolicited acquisition proposal directed at Yahoo. Enjoying a continual near-monopoly on the desktop with Windows and Office, and pushing hard on the server side with the new lineup of Windows Server, SQL Server, ISS7 and PHP against Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP, and with the entertainment division starting to pick up steam, Microsoft is now turning to the Internet. In the Cloud, the Redmond company is the indisputable underdog. And with the rival Internet giant from Mountain View hugging the online advertising and search engine markets, Microsoft is now doing a tad of hugging itself: bear hugging. Microsoft has been looking to acquire YahooImporting Maya Models into CrysisT his tutorial will explain how to export static textured models (meaning no animation yet) from Maya into Crysis. I’ll update this tutorial as I learn more about the process and more tools become available. Big thanks to Psychojohno and Spiderdan for their tutorials which taught me a lot!
What you need:
• Maya 6.0
• The Far Cry SDK version 1.4 (you can get it from fileShack)
• This script: CryExportUserInterface_001b.mel. (look for an updated version at http://seithcg.com/wordpress/?page_id=51)
Important requirements:
• Your object should be in its own directory inside of “Crysis/Game/Objects/My Objects/”. e.g.: “Crysis/Game/Objects/My Objects/toto/toto.ma”
• The object’s textures should be inside the object’s directory. e.g.: “Crysis/Game/Objects/My Objects/toto/toto.dds”. But you can actually use any texture from any object, as long as the files are in the Crysis/Game folder.
• For now the shader you use in Maya HAS to be either a “blinn” or a “phong” shader (NOT a “lambert”!).
