Windows Vista Setup
Windows Vista computers should automatically connect to the BYUI network. Do NOT use BYUI-Setup.
1. Right click the wireless connection icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select View Available Wireless networks.
2. Double click the BYUI network.
3. Once it is connected to the BYUI network you may see a popup. Click on it. You will see a window where you will need to click Enter/Select additional log on information.
4. In the User Name field, enter your campus username (NetID), and in the Password field, enter your Password. Leave the Logon domain blank. Click OK.

Unlike previous issues, the March 2007 DoubleClick is published using Quark XPress 7. This issue was created with help from an OWC Mercury Extreme 1.4 GHz G4 Power Macintosh AGP Graphics tower, (with our thanks to OWC), and a 1 GHz G4 iBook. A Kodak DX7590 is used for all pictures. It interprets and implements commands entered by the user using the system’s infrared remote control. These commands are relayed to the control module via the system’s infrared sensors mounted in the screen modules. It also distributes power to the system and detects the vehicle’s ignition state via a sense wire running from CN1 to the vehicle’s ignition switch. This enables it to limit battery drain whilst the vehicle is not in use. The control module receives audio and video inputs from the DVD Player via connector CN1 and from the vehicle’s TV tuner (if fitted) via connector CN2. It is also able to receive a further audio/video input and supply a low-level two-channel audio output via CN3.
Technical Description:
A micro-controller in the Control Module supplies and controls the power to the system via an I 2 C bus. On receipt of a power-on command from the Infrared Controller it performs a simple system check and then sends commands to other parts of the system to bring them on line. This is in contrast to real-world settings, where the need for maintenance of domain specific ontologies emerges in the daily work of users. But in order to allow for participatory ontology engineering, we need to have a more realistic conceptual model of how ontologies develop in the real world. We introduce the ontology maturing processes which is based on the insight that ontology engineering is a collaborative informal learning process and for which we analyze characteristic evolution steps and triggers that have users engage in ontology engineering within their everyday work processes.
This model integrates tagging and folksonomies with formal ontologies and shows maturing pathways between them. As implementations of this model, we present two case studies and the corresponding tools. The first is about image-based ontology engineering (introducing so-called imagenotions), the second about ontology-enabled social bookmarking (SOBOLEO). Both of them are inspired by lightweight Web 2.0 approaches and allow for realtime collaboration.
Within state-of-the-art semantic approaches, ontologies have emerged as the key to enable more advanced technological support for end users and their work processes, which particularly applies to knowledge work. However, current research and development concentrates more on what we can do as soon as we have ontologies—rather than having a closer look at the processes of creating and especially maintaining such domain-specific ontologies. In real-world settings these issues are crucial to fulfill the users’ needs and currently insufficiently dealt with.
