With the advent of the Internet, the need to deliver highly available, scalable e-business systems has mushroomed. The Web is traforming how companies traact business, communicate with their custome and business partne, and ultimately how they compete. Corporatio are in the throes of traforming themselves into e- businesses. As part of this traformation, Information Technology (IT) departments are being asked to deliver and maintain systems that traact with custome around the clock, that share data across the public Internet, and that generate large amounts of revenue for the corporation. These systems must be able to scale to meet the demands of a networked world. The penalty for downtime or slow respoe times in this environment is immee. Every minute counts and can result in lost revenue to the corporation and maybe even more importantly tarnish the corporation in the eyes of the public and its business partne. Web server farms have become part of the standard

It’s been called the essence of Web 2.0. It’s the ability to combine pieces of different web sites to create something new, something meaningful. Something for you and the people who have your tastes. Your social network. Not some mass market portal built by corporate programmers who think that they know you and your personal tastes.
Referred to as a composite web site by some and Mashup site by others, we call it amalgamating web data through the process of transcoding. Whatever. It’s about giving you the data that you want on your mobile phone or desktop browser. It’s Web 2.0. It’s about you.

This provides a good feel for the differences between the two versions and for how to port applications from 1.0 to 1.1, and, in particular, it gives us an opportunity to see what is better about developing for 1.1. This chapter doesn’t duplicate the in-depth explanation of Chapter 7; instead, it focuses on the main differences and changes between the 1.0 and 1.1 versions of the example application, Lumos. So it is recommended that you review Chapter 7 first to get familiarity with the solution.
You can view the Silverlight 1.1 version of the Lumos application online by visiting http://labs.infragistics.com/wrox/silverlight1_0/chapter8.
Also please note that the source code for the Lumos application is included along with the other code from the book and is available for download from www.wrox.com.
However, to keep the file size of the download manageable, the code for the Lumos application available for download does not include the video clips from the full application. This means that the buttons will not work (due to missing videos), but it should be sufficient to get the idea across. You can download a cou- ple of the videos separately, however, to see them in action.

Download pdf Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile - Games Cheats Hints & Trainer PC GuideInstalling Fedora Core 1There are three basic parts to installing FC: downloading and creating CDs, the initial installation process, and final setup. Fedora Core comes as a series of three ISO files, each about 650 MB in size. After downloading and verifying the files, you'll want to put them onto CDs. Most every version of Windows comes with CD-burning software, so I won't belabor that process here. It's not quite as straightforward on a Linux box, though, so I'll provide explicit details for creating CDs with Linux.
Once you've got your three CDs, it's time to install. The first CD is bootable, so, assuming that your machine can boot from a CD, you just stick it in and restart the machine. A wizard starts, first offering to check the CDs for errors, and then guiding you through about 16 screens that allow you to configure your machine and set up preferences. Most of these screens can be navigated simply by clicking "Next", as the wizard will detect and display the appropriate choice for you.
After completing the wizard, the installation starts, and you'll be prompted to insert CD #2 and #3 when necessary. Once all the files have been transferred and the system has been installed, the machine will restart and you'll spend a few more minutes making a few last tweaks and choosing settings. Upon completion, you've got a Linux box ready to go.
