  • The engine switches itself off after a few seconds if you stop the vehicle and leave your foot on the foot-brake. The engine starts again and the vehicle will start moving as soon as you release the foot-brake. The engine will not switch itself off if it is still cold, or if too many items of electrical equipment are in use. Reduced engine power Engine power is reduced to 30 kW (except when using the kick-down feature). Freewheel feature (reduced engine braking) The clutch is disengaged automatically when you take your foot off the accelerator while the vehicle is moving. This means the engine braking effect is minimal. The clutch will engage again when you press the footbrake, so the normal engine braking effect is then available. Audi A2 Owner’s Manual. • Picture perfect The Audi A5 in New York
  • Photographer GABO staged and photographed the Audi A5 in Italy in the style of a road movie. On 3 April, on the eve of the New York Auto Show, the extraordinary photos of the new coupé were on display for the first time at the Audi Forum New York - some in colour, others in black and white; some in high definition, others coarse-grained. “When I photograph a car, I’m not just documenting its appearance. In my work I try to capture its personality and express emotions,” explained the artist. The Audi A5 and S5, which will be unveiled for the first time in the USA, were another premiere at the private viewing. An exclusive concert by English jazz musician Jamie Cullum ensured a feel-good atmosphere at the event. Exquisite creations by celebrity chef David Bouley were another highlight greatly enjoyed by the guests. In the limelight, however, was the new coupé - for chief designer Walter de’Silva the “most beautiful car” that he has ever designed. And, of course, GABO’s varied works of art: “For Walter de’Silva, designing a car is art. That’s why I had to photograph the A5 as if Download this Audi PDF Book

  • Extracting A Background from an Image Using Photoshop CS2's Extraction Tool
  • This is tutorial #2 in the series for changing or removing backgrounds. This method uses the extraction tool available in Photoshop CS2 (I'm not sure if it's available in Photoshop CS, but it won't be available in any version prior to this). Unfortunately, unless other softwares contain this tool (I don't know of any that do), the tutorial will only be geared to those who own Photoshop CS2 upwards. This method removes the background from the image, rather than removing the image to a new background. To begin, open your photo and locate your extraction filter - it can be found under "filter" in the menu (Select "Filter", then Extract) and open it up. This filter will not work on 16-bit images, so if you've opened a raw file, you'll need to change the mode to 8-bit (select "image", then "mode", then select 8-bit). On the left are a series of tools - the first one is the "highlighter" for drawing around the areas you want to keep; the second is the paint bucket fill, next is an eraser, an eyedropper, two masking tools, and magnifying glass (for zooming in and out) and the hand tool (for moving your image around within the filter). On the right are some options you can set: tool options are the brush size, the highlight color and the fill color, as well as a box for "smart highlighting". Smart highlighting works best on high contrast images with sharp edges, but not so well on other types of images.
  • Photoshop Elements Quick Guide
  • Photoshop Elements is an image editing program you can use to prepare images for your story. Photoshop allows you to resize and crop photos, fix flaws in the image, and composite images together into a collage. Step 1 – Opening Program and Getting Photos After opening up the software you will see the “welcome” window. Select “Browse for File.” This will open up the Browser window. Use the window in the upper left to navigate to your “rough images” folder. You should now see your rough images in the Browser. Step 2 – Selecting a Photo to Edit To edit a photo, double click on it. A new window will open. This is the Photoshop Elements Editor workspace. Many of the tools you’ll be using are on the far left, in a vertical strip called the Tool Palette. You can find out each tool’s name/function by hovering over the tool with your mouse. Step 3 - Cropping This is what a typical image might look like if you scanned a bunch of pictures at once. Your first job is to separate these photos, edit them, and then save each one as an individual file. To do this, use the rectangular marquee tool, shown below. • Microsoft: Silverlight More than a Flash
  • Microsoft gives a name to its Flash-killer technology. The technology formerly known as WPF/E is now known as Silverlight. Microsoft has given a go-to-market name for its cross-platform, cross-browser plug-in for delivering the next generation of user experiences and rich Internet applications for the Web. The technology formerly known as WPF/E is now known as Silverlight. Microsoft announced Silverlight at the National Association of Broadcasters conference in Las Vegas on April 16. The NAB announcement highlights Silverlight uses for media users. The software company will announce further details about the technology at its own Mix07 conference, which starts at the end of April and runs through May 2 in Las Vegas. Forest Key, a director of product management in the Microsoft Server and Tools Division, said Silverlight integrates with existing Web technologies and assets to provide higher quality experiences with lower costs for media delivery. In a briefing with eWEEK, Key demonstrated how Silverlight offers consistent experiences to both Mac and Windows users on a variety of browsers, including Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari. As for which platform Silverlight will support next, Key said, "Linux is an open question. We're looking at the desktops and browsers by volume. We want to put muscle behind supporting the bulk of the market." And Linux support is still under discussion, he said. Silverlight uses WMV (Windows Media Video), Microsoft's implementation of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers VC-1 video standard, ensuring compatibility with the millions of hours of content already available on the Web. • Click and Clack s Official Guide to Changing a Flat Tire PDF
  • Find a Level Place to Stop and Find the Tool You'll Need You can change a tire if you re parked on an incline, but it s much more difficult… and dangerous! So if you find yourself with a flat on a hill, DRIVE slowly to level ground. Put the transmission into Park (or put the gear shift into reverse if you have a manual transmission) AND SET THE HAND BRAKE. Now you re ready to go looking for the tools you ll need. Tip: Here s an idea… when in doubt, take a minute and check your owner s manual. (Remember that? It s that shrink-wrapped, unread booklet that s been in your glove box since you drove your car off the lot.) Tip: If, at any point in changing a flat tire, you feel like you re in over your head don't sweat it. Just grab the nearest cell phone and call for help. STEP 2: Chock a Wheel To provide an extra degree of safety, it s a good idea to put something on either side of the wheel diagonally opposite the flat tire. Since our flat is the left rear tire, chock the right front. Chocking means to put something large, like a brick, a large rock, or a mother-in-law right in front of and right behind the tire to keep it from moving. This is an extra precaution, but it s one we recommend. Download Click and Clack s Official Guide to Changing a Flat
