Ajax on RailsIn a few short months, Ajax has moved from an obscure and rarely used technology to the hottest thing since sliced bread.
This article introduces the incredibly easy-to-use Ajax support that is part of the Ruby on Rails web application framework. This is not a step-by-step tutorial, and I assume that you know a little bit about how to organize and construct a Rails web application. If you need a quick refresher, check out Rolling with Ruby on Rails, Part 1 and Part 2.
Just in case you've been stranded on a faraway island for most of the year, here's the history of Ajax in 60 seconds or less. In the beginning, there was the World Wide Web. Compared with desktop applications, web applications were slow and clunky. People liked web applications anyway because they were conveniently available from anywhere, on any computer that had a browser. Then Microsoft created XMLHttpRequest in Internet Explorer 5, which let browser-side JavaScript communicate with the web server in the background without requiring the browser to display a new web page. That made it possible to develop more fluid and responsive web applications. Mozilla soon implemented XMLHttpRequest in its browsers, as did Apple (in the Safari browser) and Opera.
XMLHttpRequest must have been one of the Web's best kept secrets. Since its debut in 1998, few sites have used it at all, and most developers, if they even knew about it, never used it. Google started to change that when it released a series of high-profile webJetspeed -j2o- The Web 2.0 Desktop for PortletsJetspeed j2o Desktop is a Web 2.0 solution for portlets. Combining server-side Jetspeed Ajax services with client-side services, j2o is a paradigm shift in the way portlets are viewed and aggregated. The key change here is that Jetspeed 2.0 is a servlet-centric application: every request goes back to the server. The user interfaces experience is driven by HTTP page paradigm.
Jetspeed j2o Desktop is a client-side centric solution. The user interface is controlled on the client-side, where it intuitively belongs. Key features of the portal have been moved to the client side:
1. Page Aggregation
2. Customization
The server-side does what it does best, model and persistence:
1. Stores the model and user information.
Client-side Aggregation
Each portlet in its own HTTP request. This request delivers the content for one portlet only. The portlet aggregation process is moved to the client-side.
Client-side Customization
The server stores the portlet definitions and page information. The client-side provides the tools to customize the user's desktop.
Server-side Model
The model is stored on the server-side in standard Jetspeed persistence stores. PSML is served to the client-side, where it is in charge of aggregating the page.
The Desktop
The desktop holds portlets that are displayed to a user. With the first prototype, a desktop is modeled upon a single PSML page

The INSTALL program copies the files needed for the tutorial to the CIMFTUTORIAL directory on your hard disk, with a backup set of the files to the BAKTUTOR directory. If you named the CIMF directory something else during installation, substitute that name when referring to your directory. The files include drawing and data files used in the tutorial. During the tutorial, you will modify the original files and create new data files.
To do the tutorial a second time, you will need to restore the files to their original condition. To restore the files, first delete all files from the TUTORIAL directory, then copy everything from the BAKTUTOR directory

It is caused by the shape of the eye, usually due to the cornea’s surface or occasionally due to the eye’s lens being tilted. Sometimes astigmatism can be inherited but it often happens as a normal characteristic of growth.
Blur from astigmatism is not like that from myopia where all of an image is equally blurred, because some parts of the image are more out of focus than others. If you look at the line diagrams, you can see the effect of astigmatism by tilting the tip the page down and facing away from you the lines running across the page are less distinct than those running away from you.
The blur of astigmatism makes things uncomfortable to look at, difficult to focus and may cause headaches, tiredness and poor concentration.
What about tired eyes?
Astigmatism can also result in fatigued eyes, especially if you are concentrating on anything for a long period of time, whether looking up close (for example, studying or computer use) or in the distance (for example, driving).

Download Timing Chain Installation ManualCreating a Paperspace TemplateSince my first days with DesignCad, a paperspace template was not available until I created one and imported the file into my existing drawing file, filling in the necessary details into the titleblock before printing. Frankly, it was a pain until DesignCad came out with paperspace templates.
To the new user, the existing templates are quite and more than suitable and may indeed be suitable for some experienced users and customers alike, but from time to time or as is required, an up to date template is required to:
1. look professional,
2. convey the information required by a given standard i.e. local council or Patents Office.
3. Your drawing standards and template requirements have changed.
My own business has a drawing template log, where any changes to templates are noted and dated. Why? For quality reasons and if my company is audited, I can show the auditor the trail of changes, if asked.
To the new user, creating templates can be a daunting task, even to a reasonably experienced user, so with this tutorial, I will endeavour to guide you through the task. Paperspace templates are all based on a standard, being ISO, DIN, JIS, ANSI to name but some. Most, if not all are based on the ISO Standard.

You do it like so. First remove the clips and screws near the front end of the console on its sides (circled red) Then remove the rubber in the “shelf“ of the bravo console using a knife or a small screwdriver and lift it up. Unscrew the screw underneath it. Lift the gear stick gator like in the pic above and use force to get the gear knob off – grip the gear knob with your hands and pull in the direction of the arrow (upwards)
Then using your finger or a small flat head screwdriver lift the mirror switch plate by inserting the screwdriver in the place of the yellow arrow. After you have lifted the plate, disconnect the connector that is on its down part of the plate and unscrew the screw that is on the console (place of the screw marked by red arrow) Then take off the hand brake gator and leave the hand brake up.
After you have done the above, take out the rear ashtray and unscrew the two screws underneath. Now the console is free of any connections to the car chassis. So to get it out, pull its rear end up in the arrow direction. Now comes the hard part ! Making the went pipes to work and making a bracket for them if you don’t have holes for it. If this score exceeds 5, the message is tagged ‘{Spam?}’ before it is delivered to you.
It is possible to set up rules within Outlook® to automatically move such messages to a folder which could be checked from time to time. In theory it would be possible to move all such mail automatically to the deleted mail folder; this is not advisable, however, as mail may occasionally be scored incorrectly, leading to the deletion of normal mail. Information Services recommends that you make at least a quick check of the message sender and subject prior to deletion, even for messages marked ‘{Spam?}’.
