MapInfo SpatialWare 4.8 for Microsoft SQL Server Release NotesSpatialWare ® allows you to store, access, manage and manipulate spatial data as a standard part of your business data. Spatial data contains geographic information so that it may be represented on a map. Customer records with name, address and telephone numbers are only records in a database. Once the address can be tied to a geographic location on earth, the record becomes spatial information. Display that record with other spatial information on a map and you can see the relationships among the records, allowing you to make more informed decisions about your business data.
With SpatialWare and SQL Server, spatial data may be a part of any SQL Server database insert, update or delete. You can query both spatial and non-spatial data within a single SQL Server query. Spatial data used in conjunction with non-spatial data is being used by companies to find their next customer, increase the number of products and services that are offered to customers, and serve customers better. Spatial data can help answer key questions such as: Where can I buy or service products? Can you get a service truck out to me today? Do you offer cellular service in my area? What is the average home value within a 5 KM radius? All these answers depend on knowing accurate location information. SpatialWare lets you capitalize on this information. You already store key business information in your database; your spatial data should complement and extend the analysis opportunities available from the database.

This document first began as an effort to help teams within Google, but we thought it'd be just as useful to webmasters that are new to the topic of search engine optimization and wish to improve their sites' interaction with both users and search engines. Although this guide won't tell you any secrets that'll automatically rank your site first for queries in Google (sorry!), following the best practices outlined below will make it easier for search engines to both crawl and index your content.
Search engine optimization is often about making small modifications to parts of your website. When viewed individually, these changes might seem like incremental improvements, but when combined with other optimizations, they could have a noticeable impact on your site's user experience and performance in organic search results. You're likely already familiar with many of the topics in this guide, because they're essential ingredients for any webpage, but you may not be making the most out of them.
Even though this guide's title contains the words "search engine", we'd like to say that you should base your optimization decisions first and foremost on what's best for the visitors of your site. They're the main consumers of your content and are using search engines to find your work. Focusing too hard on specific tweaks to gain ranking in the organic results of search engines may not deliver the desired results. Starting Microsoft Excel and Opening Files
Launching Excel via the Start menu and All Programs isn't the most efficient way of doing things; it's much easier to do so from an icon on the Desktop:
1. Open the Windows Start menu and choose All Programs then Microsoft Office
2. Instead of clicking on Microsoft Office Excel 2003, hold the right mouse button down and drag Excel from the Microsoft Office menu onto the Desktop - choose Copy Here
3. Now (and in future) double click on the Microsoft Excel icon to launch the software
You can also place shortcuts to files you are currently working on the Desktop in a similar way - this time (when you drag the file icons from My Documents using the right mouse button) choose Create Shortcuts Here from the pop-up menu. When you have finished working on a file then you can the shortcut (leaving the file itself safe in My Documents). Another feature which makes opening a file easier is to alter the number of documents which feature in the list of recently used files (the list which appears at the foot of the File menu):..

This is important when you want to provide visitors with information that is always up-to-date, without hand tweaking a lot of static HTML pages. However, although PHP is easy to use, it includes no general-purpose database access interface. Instead it has a number of specialized ones that take the form of separate sets of functions for each database system. There is one set for MySQL, another for InterBase, and another for PostgreSQL—and others as well.
This wide range of support for different database engines help make PHP popular because it means essentially that no matter which database you use, PHP probably supports it. On the other hand, having a different set of functions for each database also makes PHP scripts non-portable at the lexical (source code) level. For example, the function for issuing a SQL statement is named mysql_query(), ibase_query(), or pg_exec(), depending on whether you are using MySQL, InterBase, or Post-greSQL. This necessitates a round of messy script editing to change function names if you want to use your scripts with a different database engine, or if you obtain scripts from someone who doesn’t use the same engine you do.
In PHP 4 and up, this problem is addressed by means of a database module included in PEAR (the PHP Extension and Add-on Repository). The PEAR DBGetting Started With MX BreadcrumbsIn the Getting Started with MX Breadcrumbs tutorial, you will learn how to use MX Breadcrumbs for quickly inserting breadcrumbs in your site pages. Beginning with the files in your installation package, you will understand what MX Breadcrumbs is, how it works, and what you can do with it. Although much of the tutorial and sample site were done in PHP, the ColdFusion and ASP steps are nearly identical. The primary difference is in the database configuration and connection sections, where separate instructions are provided.
MX Breadcrumbs is a Dreamweaver MX extension that allows developers to create dynamic breadcrumbs in their web sites. It will actually create a directory index displaying the database information in an hierarchical manner. This is a simple extension that includes a Command and an Advanced Breadcrumbs Recordset. MX Breadcrumbs supports PHP_ADODB, PHP_MySQL, ColdFusion and ASP_VBScript server models. • The administrator subdivides the fonts into workgroups intended for specific types of users or projects
• The administrator decides which workgroups you need to access.
• You access workgroups, and the fonts within them, through the Universal Type Client application.
• Your user permissions control what you can do with fonts within each workgroup, including whether you can add fonts, share sets, change a font’s class, and more.
• Some users are font administrators, giving them more power over fonts.
The Universal Type Server Daily Workflow
If you’ve been using another font manager, your workflow stays relatively the same ----- open the font manager, find the fonts you want to use, and activate them. The benefit of Universal Type Server is that everyone you work with has access to the same fonts at the same time. Take a look at the typical use of Universal Type Server:
• Launch the Universal Type Client
• Open the appropriate workgroup (in many cases, you will belong to only one workgroup)
• Use the Universal Type Client to sort and preview fonts
• Customize font keywords, classes, foundries, and more*
• Create sets of fonts for specific projects or clients
• Add new fonts you purchased or received with jobs*
• Activate any fonts you want to use
• Use the fonts in any application in any document
• Collect fonts for output* Universal Type Server can also activate fonts automatically when youParallels Desktop for Mac User GuideParallels® Desktop is a powerful, easy-to-use software that lets you run Windows® and other operating systems with their applications in fast, secure virtual machines side-by-side with Mac OS® X on Intel®-based Macintosh® computers. Parallels Desktop is powered by a lightweight hypervisor, a thin layer of software that "works" between the host computer’s hardware and Mac OS X. This results in dramatically more stable, more secure, and higher-performing virtual machines.
Parallels Desktop fully supports Intel virtualization technology (VT-x). See the Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x) Support (page 8) topic.
To enhance your experience of running more than one operating system on your Macintosh computer, Parallels Desktop for the Mac includes two utilities: Parallels Image Tool and Parallels Compressor™.
Parallels Desktop has a set of special tools (utilities and drivers) that will help you use your virtual machines efficiently (mouse synchronization tool, clipboard synchronization tool, etc.). See the Parallels Tools Overview (page 67) topic for the full list of tools and their descriptions.
Key terms used in this Guide:
Primary operating system (primary OS) to designate the operating system that controls the input /output devices on the computer and that is loaded when the physical computer is turned on. Actually, it's Mac OS X.
Guest operating system (guest OS) to designate an operating system that runs under virtual machine control. One primary OS and multiple guest OSes can run at the same time on a single computer.
