Audio Problems
If no sound is audible
• Press Fn+Page Up several times.
• Click the speaker icon in the taskbar (if present), and make sure Mute is not checked and the Volume slider is not set to the bottom.
• Double-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and make sure the audio source is not muted. If the source is not displayed, click Options, Properties, and select the source from the volume control list.
If sound does not record
• Make sure the microphone is securely connected to the microphone jack.
• Check the software controls for recording sound: Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, Multimedia (or Entertainment), Sound Recorder.
• Double-click the speaker symbol in the taskbar. Then click Options, Properties, and make sure the microphone is enabled in the recording controls.
• Test the audio with the e-Diagtools diagnostics— see “Using the e-Diagtools Diagnostic Tests” on page 25.

In this section we will create a new database, a new user, and a very simple table. MySQL has a two level directory like hierarchy for keeping databases and tables. At the root there is MySQL; under root you can only create “databases.” Database is almost like a directory, you can create “tables” under a database. Follow the steps listed below.
1. Start the mysql server (follow the CSIF MySQL tutorial).
2. Check if mysql server is running.
$ mysqladmin -u root -p status

3. Start the mysql client. We will use the command line client to create a new database, a new user and a table in the new database.
(a) $ mysql -u root -p

Although exception handling was a significant improvement over other mechanisms like checking return codes, it is far from perfect. In fact, it can be argued that this mechanism is seriously limited, if not, flawed. This paper aims to contribute to the discussion by providing quantitative measures on how programmers are currently using exception handling. We examined 32 different applications, both for Java and .NET. The major conclusion for this work is that exceptions are not being correctly used as an error recovery mechanism. Exception handlers are not specialized enough for allowing recovery and, typically, programmers just do one of the following actions: logging, user notification and application termination. To our knowledge, this is the most comprehensive study done on exception handling to date, providing a quantitative measure useful for guiding the development of new error handling mechanisms.
