Download manualThe Linux Public Web Browser mini?HOWTOThe directions below will produce the RedHat (currently version 6.2 is used, 7.0 is in development) Linux system that boots into the bare (=no window manager, like gnome, kde or fvwm2) X server and starts Netscape Navigator (not Communicator, which includes Main and News clients). Upon exiting the browser the X server is restarted and the new Netscape process is launched as needed. The system is intended for Internet Kiosks and similar applications. Security is emphasized at all the stages of the setup. This HOWTO will be updated (maybe significantly) as long as more reports about the deployment of such boxes will arrive.
The basic idea here is to give web access to people who wander by, while limiting their ability to mess anything up. This setup was originally intended for trade shows, but it might be applicable other places you want to have a web browser going without having to babysit a computer. Following these instructions does not make your system bulletproof or idiot?proof.
You need a graphical browser
This document assumes that you already have a running graphical web browser, such as Netscape Navigator, on your system. You should have permission to use your graphical web browser. If you want to use Netscape Navigator in a commercial setting, you can buy a copy with appropriate license through Caldera.
You need to be able to add an account
If you don't have the right to be root, get the system administrator to add the ``guest'' account and give you ownership of guest's home directory.Adobe Illustrator CS4 Programmer's GuideA plug-in is a library that extends or changes the behavior of Illustrator. On Windows, a plug-in is built as a DLL (dynamic-link library). On Macintosh, a plug-in is built as a bundle that contains a shared library. The plug-in architecture in Illustrator is very powerful. Plug-ins have access to Illustrator’s elegant vector, text, and raster engines, as well as Illustrator’s user interface. The API is a fundamental part of the application; in fact, most of Illustrator itself is implemented as plug-ins. You can create plug-ins that add new tools to the drawing, shading, and raster tools already in Illustrator. Plug-ins can turn Illustrator into a powerful CAD, cartographic, or other custom design application. Users can add or remove plug-ins to quickly and easily customize Illustrator to their needs.
The Illustrator API offers several benefits to plug-in developers. Because Illustrator handles large application tasks like printing and saving files, you can concentrate on the implementation of your plug-in’s unique features. Plug-ins do not need to support undo or window updating; these are handled by the API and are invisible to the plug-in. This translates into shorter development cycles.
Your plug-in also can take advantage of Adobe Dialog Manager (ADM), a cross-platform, user-interface API. Plug-ins that use ADM floating panels are completely integrated with Illustrator; the panels can be docked, undocked, and controlled as if they were built into Illustrator.
Get pdf Adobe Illustrator CS4 Programmer's GuideInstalling Fedora Core 1There are three basic parts to installing FC: downloading and creating CDs, the initial installation process, and final setup. Fedora Core comes as a series of three ISO files, each about 650 MB in size. After downloading and verifying the files, you'll want to put them onto CDs. Most every version of Windows comes with CD-burning software, so I won't belabor that process here. It's not quite as straightforward on a Linux box, though, so I'll provide explicit details for creating CDs with Linux.
Once you've got your three CDs, it's time to install. The first CD is bootable, so, assuming that your machine can boot from a CD, you just stick it in and restart the machine. A wizard starts, first offering to check the CDs for errors, and then guiding you through about 16 screens that allow you to configure your machine and set up preferences. Most of these screens can be navigated simply by clicking "Next", as the wizard will detect and display the appropriate choice for you.
After completing the wizard, the installation starts, and you'll be prompted to insert CD #2 and #3 when necessary. Once all the files have been transferred and the system has been installed, the machine will restart and you'll spend a few more minutes making a few last tweaks and choosing settings. Upon completion, you've got a Linux box ready to go.

I suggest compositing in After Effects rather than Photoshop, even though we're only working on one frame. After Effects has better layering options and it is much quicker to adjust things (Photoshop brightness adjustments are "permanent" unless you make an effect mask...too
tedious!!!)
Part I: Maya
Setup camera, lights, and object
Render object passes
Render reflection passes
Render occlusion pass
Part II: After Effects
Bringing in all the layers and setting blending modes
Adding hue/saturation effects and adjusting opacities to "match the numbers"
Render out the final frame
DownloadSSH Secure File Transfer for Windows - Student Organizations Server TutorialThis tutorial demonstrates how to use the SSH Secure File Transfer client for Windows to copy files from a local computer to the Student Organizations Server. The example uses http://www.clubs.psu.edu/up/clubs_example/, as the Web address for an example organization at University Park. Organizations that use http://www.greeks.psu.edu/ in their Web address have “up” as their campus code. A fraternity with a Web address of http://www.greeks.psu.edu/ifc/aaa/ has the directory path /clubs/up/aaa.
The councils also have this distinction, (for example, IFC has the directory path /clubs/up/ifc/). 1. First you must install the Secure FTP client for Windows if you haven’t already done so. You can download the client (part of the SSH Secure Shell program)..
