The MPEG-7 standard provides description mechanisms and ontology management tools for multimedia documents. We have implemented a classification scheme for sound effects management ipired on the MPEG-7 standard on top of an existing lexical network, WordNet. WordNet is a semantic network that organizes over 100.000 concepts of the real world with links among them. We show how to extend WordNet with the concepts of the specific domain of sound effects. We review some of the taxonomies to describe acoustically sounds. Mining legacy metadata from sound effects libraries further supplies us with terms. For example: A larger courier font is used to denote relevant commands mid-sentence, such as newconfig, in order to separate the command from the rest of the text. File and path names, such as /etc/inittab, are in bold. Individual references to filenames without paths like inittab aren’t.

Make sure you read them!
One small point; there are many instances where command lines are preceded by either a # or $ symbol. The # refers to the root user and the $ symbol refers to a regular user. In either case, don’t type the symbol. To make matters even more confusing, most of the configuration files used in this guide use leading # symbols to define comments. It’s confusing but it’s the UNIX convention, not ours. Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it.

A C# program starts in a single thread created automatically by the CLR and operating system (the "main" thread), and is made multi-threaded by creating additional threads.
The main thread creates a new thread t on which it runs a method that repeatedly prints the character y. Simultaneously, the main thread repeatedly prints the character x.
The CLR assigns each thread its own memory stack so that local variables are kept separate. In the next example, we define a method with a local variable, then call the method simultaneously on the main thread and a newly created thread:
A separate copy of the cycles variable is created on each thread's memory stack, and so the output is, predictably, ten question marks.
