  • Web 2.0: Impact on Online Users
  • Web 2.0 has captured the imagination of consumers and businesses alike. But knowing how to leverage Web 2.0 concepts to fuel collaboration and innovation among employees, partners, and customers is another story. Web 2.0 can change an enterprise but recognizing how, and determining whether one should, is confusing. This paper aims to dispel some of the myths surrounding Web 2.0 and discusses its practical applications and its impact on online users by demonstrating HE goal oriented eLearning based on service oriented architecture (SOA). There is no doubt Web 2.0 impacts are seen in the workplace with blogs, wikis, and prediction markets cropping up. As the original spreadsheet changed business, Web 2.0 will also bring in changes for better and find its own niche, in the business world. Many organizations are already testing Web 2.0 concepts for enhancing their image for better positioning “Web 2.0 is the network as platform, spanning all connected devices; Web 2.0 applications are those that make the most of the intrinsic advantages of that platform: delivering software as a continually-updated service that gets better the more people use it, consuming and remixing data from multiple sources, including individual users, while providing their own data and services in a form that allows remixing by others, creating network effects through an "architecture of participation," and going beyond the page metaphor of Web 1.0 to deliver rich user experiences." - Tim O'Reilly 2 Tim O’Reilly was one of the first to use the term, “Web 2.0”. It is a web-based software
  • Jeopardy in Web 2.0
  • What on earth is Web 2.0? Web 2.0 carries a high profile and surrounding hype. Developers must surely be feeling the heat to quickly adopt the new second generation of dynamic, interactive and simple by design technologies. Web 2.0 is the term pioneered by O’Reilly for new generation Web applications.Live.com, start.com, Google maps, Google Docs, YouTube, Flickr, and MySpace are few examples. Adaptation of this technology vector has changed the web application development approach and methodology significantly.AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript), RIA(Rich Internet Applications) and Web Services form the core components of Web 2.0applications. AJAX delivers a rich user interface by displaying more dynamic content. Another common technique is Real Simple Syndications feeds (RSS), an XML based standard that allows subscribers to promote information feeds. This is most commonly used to subscribe to blogs and news articles. AJAX and Rich Internet Application (RIA) clients are enhancing client-end interfaces in the browser itself. XML is making a significant impact at both presentation and transport (HTTP/HTTPS) layers. To some extent XML is replacing HTML at the presentation layer while SOAP is becoming the XML-based transport mechanism of choice. With Web 2.0, the functionality and experience of the sites become the primary focus, and the technology empowering the dynamic content is hidden behind the scenes to the average user. Yet the web applications underneath the polished finish remain just as complex, and add a variety of new and often unproven or unsecured technologies to the back end. Worms like Spaceflash, Yamanner and Samy are exploiting “client-side” AJAX frameworks,
  • Fiat Marea Poly Elliptical Headlight Conversion PDF
  • Your first step is to buy a pair of Fiat Marea Poly Elliptical Headlights which can be found on all Fiat Marea ELX and HLX’s of any age. Your second step is to make sure that you are also given the sidelight connector with part of the wiring loom; it isn’t entirely necessary to obtain this but it does make it a lot easier to install and look factory fit. Make sure you have enough of the wiring loom as possible as you will be wiring them into the Bravo’s wiring loom. (Approx 30cm). You can extend the wire using good quality speaker wire, so don't worry if it’s too short. The rest of the headlight connectors on the Bravo will fit directly into the new Marea Headlights. (These are the Indicator connector, Dipped/Main Light Connector). Bravo Headlight Removal Pre-Removal If you have bought used headlights, theoretically they will already be aligned for you. Therefore if you want to save yourself time and money by not having your lights realigned then mark off the position of the brackets and bolts in there current position before removal. If possible mark the headlight pattern on a garage door or wall. I would still recommend you get them aligned properly just to be on the safe side as well as make sure you don’t loose valuable light. • Virtools: How to create interactive textures and an orbital camera
  • This tutorial shows how to create behaviors for interactive textures: scrolling, blending textures on the faces of a cube. We will work on one face of the cube with its specific material-shader and one texture “mountain.jpg”. Part 4 of this tutorial covers setting up an orbital camera. Part 1- In Maya, exporting a cube with textures Before exporting to Virtools, make sure that all faces inside the cube have their normals facing towards the inside of the cube. Go to Modeling, Display > Polygon Components > Normals Normals are represented with colored lines sticking out of the faces of the cube. The red arrow shows the way one normal should look like. The red arrow indicates a normal that needs to be reversed. Go to Modeling, Edit Polygons > Normals > Reverse Creating a database Resource folder: Open Virtools and create a Resource database, go to Resource > create New Data Resource Folder, name of your choice and save in the location of your choice. Virtools automatically creates a Resource.rsc file and a Resource folder which contains several subfolders. The file called Resource.rsc is used to open the database Resource folder in Virtools. This folder is independent from the composition that you will later create in Virtools. It can be used to exchange assets between projects. • Safe Runtime Examination of Data Structures in C Programs
  • What: We are developing a tool to track variables and their values in C programs as they change at runtime. Because of the low-level, unrestricted memory access the language allows, the challenge lies in collecting accurate information without disrupting the program’s execution. Our approach combines techniques from profiling with memory tracking to analyze dynamic allocation throughout the lifetime of a program. Why: Dynamic program analysis provides useful tools for documenting, debugging, and improving the quality of programs. An example is the Daikon tool, which detects likely invariants (logical statements) about variables in programs. Daikon uses separate front-ends to observe the execution of Java, Perl, and C programs, but the current C front-end [2] has limited functionality. The freedom that C gives programmers to control the contents of memory presents a challenge to such automated tools when determining which variables are valid and what they refer to. A robust C front-end for Daikon is important so that it can be used with the abundance of software written in that language. The source-rewriting approach employed by the current C front-end works well only for small, self-contained, and well-behaved programs because it changes the layout of a program’s data structures. We are implementing a new approach that is applicable to a larger class of programs, including those that require access to external libraries. This enhanced support will allow us to compare Daikon-based techniques with ones developed by other researchers using standard benchmarks. It will also support investigations into how dynamic invariant detection can be

  • List Owner’s Manual - Listserv
  • L-Soft is aligning LISTSERV’s version numbering with the rest of the e-mail industry. There have been 51 released versions of LISTSERV since 1986 – 15 major upgrades and 36 minor releases. Version 1.8e in the “traditional” numbering system corresponds to 14.0. The present update is version 15.0. Because the old nomenclature is more familiar to our users, in this version of the documentation we will continue to refer to versions of LISTSERV inferior to version 14.4 by the old version system. Preface - About This Manual Every effort has been made to ensure that this document is an accurate representation of the functionality of LISTSERV®. As with every software application, development continues after the documentation has gone to press so small inconsistencies may occur. We would appreciate any feedback on this manual. Send comments via email to: MANUALS@LSOFT.COM The following documentation conventions have been used in this manual: • Menus, options, icons, fields, and text boxes on the screen will be bold (e.g. the Help icon). • Clickable buttons will be bold and within brackets (e.g. the [OK] button).
