  • Progress DataXtend™ CE for C# pdf
  • Performance, availability, and scalability concerns often take a back seat to application functionality until the end of a development project. However, in Improving .NET Application Performance and Scalability, the authors warn: “Many, if not most, performance problems are introduced by specific architecture, design, and technology choices that you make very early in the development cycle, often in the design stage.” The strategies they recommend for building performance into an application stress the importance of choosing a scalable solution for persistent data access. Analysts also confirm that data access technology has a significant impact throughout the project lifecycle: – Development Phase: An R.B. Webber study concluded that coding and configuring data access typically accounts for 30 to 40% of total project effort. – Tuning Phase: Performance and data integrity issues often do not surface until testing. – Deployment Phase: According to a 2004 Forrester Research survey, 66% of performance problems are first identified by irate users calling the IT help desk. Progress ® DataXtend™ CE for C# provides cost effective, scalable, and high performance object oriented access to relational data for Microsoft ® .NET applications. DataXtend CE meets and exceeds data access requirements at each stage of the project lifecycle, ensuring a fast, free flow of data. Tightly integrated features shorten development schedules, simplify performance tuning, and ensure enterprisewide deployment scalability and high availability. In the previously referenced document, a Microsoft architect strongly suggests that development teams plan up front for performance: “If you’re very lucky, performance problems can be fixed after the fact. But, as often

  • Heroes of Might and Magic V: Hammers of Fate Games Cheats Hints & Trainer PC pdf
  • Heroes of Might and Magic is one of the most renowned and beloved series for every turn-based strategy gamer there is. The top of the peak was reached with the almost legendary Heroes of Might and Magic III. This was for many years the defining title for this genre. Although HOMM IV was not so enthusiastically greeted, it was the corner stone that allowed the series to take its decisive step to the 3D realms and opened a new path for this series. HOMM V came to follow the path of HOMM III and carry on its legacy while also trying to sweep off the traces of the painful criticism that its predecessor received. Ubisoft proved that they can learn from their mistakes and managed to get themselves quickly over the harsh disappointment that came with the forth title. Heroes of Might and Magic V reverted to the main HOMM III basics and managed to save the day. Now the series is back in the good graces of TBS fans everywhere. To celebrate the success, the first Heroes V expansion pack came out on the market. It bore the name Hammers of Fate and brought a brand new set of 3 campaigns each consisting of 5 missions (in addition to the original 6 campaigns of 5 missions each) and introduced the hammer wielding faction of the Dwarves. The expansion also brought a very happy smile on the fans’ faces by introducing new neutral monsters, new map content and artifacts along with

  • Web 2.0 Handouts
  • During the 25 years that I have delivered professional development activities for educators, I have always tried to model the technologies and techniques that I was teaching. In recent years, the efforts have had less to do with specific technologies, software products, services, and much more to do with philosophies where learning happens as part of continuing and multi-dimensional conversations among learners and teachers, and others on the Net. This is what the emerging new web, web 2.0 has done to my vision of education. I have long abandoned the print handout, using it only under those conditions where they are expressly requested by the people who pay me for my services. Otherwise, I point to my web site at the beginning of the presentation demonstrating links to web pages that provide a variety of digital resources for the topic at hand. Until recently, these have been static html documents or pages that were derived from content management systems. The first time that I installed a wiki engine on my web server and produced a web page that could be edited by any visitor to that page, I saw this as the perfect vehicle for providing access to digital content for my workshop participants within the context of education as conversation philosophy mentioned above. Fairly early in the evolution of my wiki handouts, I selected MediaWiki (http://mediawiki.org/) as the engine for my online handouts. Its robustness, richness, availability of various extensions that have been developed by an open-source community of programmers, and security

  • SAP Help Guide: Time Zones Tutorial
  • Use Processes which cover more than one time zone primarily affect logistic functions such as availability checks, production planning, delivery scheduling, statistics and service provision, but they also affect financial accounting in areas such as treasury, inter-company transactions, and so on. This function enables you to use dates and times that are comparable and exchangeable in applications that are implemented worldwide. For time-related applications, the SAP system can use local dates and times for proposed dates and validations (for example, to ensure that a requested delivery date is not in the past). Time Zone Management in Global Systems Global Application Generally, users think and act in terms of their local time, and they also expect to use their local time in business transactions. When the SAP System is used for global transactions that span time zones, business partners and systems will have different local times. These differences in local times can lead to problems such as late postings and missed batch runs. Download SAP Help Guide: Time Zones Tutorial
