Processing WSDL in Python

Web Services Description Language (WDSL), originally developed by IBM, Microsoft, and others, is an XML format for technical description of Web services. In this tutorial, Mike Olson and Uche Ogbuji introduce WSDL4Py, an open-source Python library for WSDL 1.1 hosted by IBM developerWork’s open-source zone. The Windows version of TmoleX is distributed as a single executable file, called tmoleX.exe. To install TmoleX, simply double-click on tmoleX.exe and follow the installation instructions. The Map Book function has been a Part of Map 3D since the early days of ADE. In the last several releases the functionality has become very robust and a whole lot easier to use due to the Sheet Set Manager and a Wizard. That being said, there is one piece of the Map Books that can cause you to go nuts (and many folks it seems just give up)… setting a % Overlap value and still getting a scaled map book. The key to solving this dilemma is in the Map Book template (.dwt). Often a shape looks great on screen using max, but if you want to actually make it in 3d then it’s a bit tricky seeing as we don’t have access to a rapid prototyping machine or a CNC mill, but we do have a laser cutter. So this explains how to turn a 3d studio model into a real thing made up of laminates of card, paper, ply, Perspex whatever you want. This tutorial assumes a basic knowledge of 3DS Max an AutoCAD.

A Rough Google Earth Guide

Google Earth is a virtual globe program, allowing viewers to visualize data on top of displayed satellite images of the Earth’s surface. Launched in 2005 and released to the public in 2006, Google Earth fast became a household name hailed as a revolution for humanitarian development, much as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) were several decades ago. According to MapAction, “There seem at present tobe two distinct groups of humanitarian practitioners: those who are already, albeit tentatively,exploiting Google Earth and related geospatial methods in their work,and those whowill be, as soon as they see their first demonstration of its potential.” (MapAction, 2008: 9)
