Experience in integrating Java with C# and .NETJava has been with us for seven years now and has made phenomenal inroads into the world of system, business, internet and educational programming. As demonstrated by presentations made at conferences such as JavaGrande, its influence extends also into scientific and high performance computing, specifically in parallel and distributed applications [11]. The reason for Java being used by these latter communities is that it has something to offer over and above the languages currently in use – chiefly Fortran, Visual Basic and C/C++.
Specifically, object-oriented programming, increased security both within a program and between programs, parallelism facilities, applets and access to new resources through class libraries are cited as features which could be profitably used by scientific programmers [19].
The move towards Java in distributed computing has not been without its problems [17, 15], however, and it is to be expected that programmers will be loathe to embark upon another change of language so soon. Yet, the advent of Microsoft’s new language C# cannot go unnoticed, and the questions to be asked are:
• What are the additional advantages of C# as a language over Java?
• Can the new and interesting features of C# be incorporated into existing Java software?
Like Java, C# is not just a programming language, but co-exists with a particular runtime enironment (like Java’s JVM), a means of communicating on the network (like Java’s RMI but unlike Java’s applets) and several independent technologies which are used by both languages (such as XML)

Up till now, webmasters had no control over what pages Google crawled. Webmasters could only submit their homepage to Google and hope that Google would crawl through links to find the rest of their web site. Google’s new service, Google Sitemaps, provides webmasters with a method to inform Google exactly which pages they want crawled, how often these pages change, and the order that these pages should be crawled.
Stop waiting.
Whether your web site contains a single web page or millions of pages, Google Sitemaps are useful for any business with a web site. If you want Google to crawl more of your web pages or you want to be able to tell Google when your web pages change, then you should be using Google Sitemaps.
Google Sitemaps are particularly beneficial for parts of a web site that cannot be reached by Google’s crawler. For instance, dynamic elements behind a search form are particularly notorious hard for Google to index. Why wait for Google to find your web site? Instead of waiting around, get your content indexed faster by telling Google where to look with Google Sitemaps.
Get Started.
There are only two steps to participate in Google Sitemaps:
1. Create a Google Sitemap
2. Submit the Sitemap
A Google Sitemap is an XML file that follows the Google Sitemap Protocol. The Google Sitemap contains a list of URLs and may also contain information about those URLs such asRAID Installation Guide for Promise PDC20378 pdf manualThe Basics What is RAID? DownloadAED Challenge User Guide and Administrator GuideAED Challenge is a training tool that provides a computer-simulated environment for practicing automated external defibrillation (AED) skills. It gives realistic practice to students who are learning to use an AED and helps experienced AED users keep their skills sharp.
AED Challenge simulates a variety of sudden cardiac arrest scenarios. Your objective is to provide rapid treatment and defibrillation. The program gives advice, feedback, and scores performance. AED Challenge gives defibrillation-trained personnel quality practice whenever it is needed. AED Challenge follows the 2005 American Heart Association (AHA) and European Resuscitation Council (ERC) Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC)
AED Challenge was designed for review and practice of AED protocol knowledge by emergency responders. It is not a self-instructional program. It is intended to supplement training conducted by a qualified instructor and supervised by a licensed physician. This application is not a replacement for initial hands-on training using an actual device.
The treatment recommendations contained in this application meet national and international guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated defibrillation. It is not intended to be a substitute for device operating instructions and local protocols.

Authors create and change documents locally and upload them to a Web server, where they can be accessed by their collaborators. However, Web browsers and servers which implement the protocol HTTP are mostly limited to provide reading access to Web documents. For this reason, existing Web-based groupware systems (e.g. the BSCW system) are implemented using client/server side scripting. These scripts are used to implement the basic operations needed for this kind of applications.
The protocol WebDAV (World Wide Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning) which was developed as an extension of HTTP/1.1 by the WebDAV working group of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and defines new methods which offer additional services for editing and managing files on remote Web servers in a structured way (e.g. locking, version management, metadata management, etc.). When using WebDAV, the Web is becoming a rich infrastructure for collaborative applications, where the Web-DAV methods can be used to implement the basic operations needed (e.g. copy, delete, upload, assign metadata to documents, etc.). Scripting can be used in this context as well, but not for implementing the basic tasks of collaboration, but to simplify maintenance of the application.
The paper is structured as follows: In Section 2 we introduce the functionality of WebDAV. In Section 3, we briefly summarize related work in the area of implementing Web-based groupware systems and we give a short description of two systems, BSCW and DReSS. Furthermore,Microsoft Uses LiteSpeed™ for SQL Server from Quest Software to Eliminate the Need for Additional StorageMicrosoft uses SAP as its primary Enterprise Resource Planning software. The Microsoft Enterprise Application Services Group depends on a variety of SAP systems for online transaction processing, batch processing and analytical reporting.
The Challenge
Two of these mission-critical systems include SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) and SAP Business Warehouse (BW). Both systems have four separate environments: technical sandbox, development, test and production. They require a total of eight separate databases and these databases were frequently running out of backup space due to extensive growth.
Steve Bury, Senior Technologist in the Enterprise Application Services (EAS) Group, explained, “Without a compression solution we were on the verge of having to acquire additional database backup storage to accommodate database growth. Just adding a few drives was not an option. Most systems’drivebays were full so we would have been required to add both new drivebays as well as additional controllers. A far more expensive alternative would have been to replace all existing drives with larger ones.”
The Quest Solution
Today the Microsoft EAS Group is using LiteSpeed™ for SQL Server to help compress and speed up the back- up process on all SAP systems: R/3, GTS, APO and BW. All R/3 environments are running on SQL Server 2005 and the other systems will be upgraded soon. As a result, Microsoft estimates it will save up to $186,000 per year for costs associated to resources, storage and hardware. “With LiteSpeed for SQL Server, we recognized a 4-to-1 compression ratio on our SAP database backups which solved our disk spaceGrowing Without Groaning: Pain-free, Reality-based Migration forDedicated Server.
