Using Distance Snap
Back when I was drafting on basic AutoCAD, a long time ago, I had a bad habit. I’d spend hours making my drawings look good. Yeah, you know what I mean; it all starts when trying to place dimension lines at just the right distance from the geometry, then it snow balls into aligning dimensions and rearranging dimensions and before you know it you’ve just spent another hour. Thankfully, we upgraded to AutoCAD Mechanical and I found power dimension and its distance snap... the rest they say is history.
So here’s how it works. After you’ve specified the first and second extension lines, power dimension will ask you to specify the dimension line location; just like AutoCAD does. But instead of trying to find another dimension to align it with, keep dragging your cursor. The preview will ‘snap’ to a location and change from green to red. After you have done that, you will be left with this. Now the first step in removing the caliper is to take off the spring on the front side. You do it using some pliers. The yellow arrow shows the spring. The second pic shows the caliper with the spring removed.
The next step is to remove the corks (red arrows) and unscrew the two 7mm alen (imbus) screws that hold the caliper. The screws are under the corks – pic2 To get the screws out, insert the 7mm alen key in and unscrew them out.
This is how the screws looks like. The white arrow points where the other one is. When the screws are out, you need to disconnect the pad wear cable. It is on one of the sides of the car (HGT-both sides).
Connector is circled red. After that is done, pull the caliper toward you by hand. Next step is to remove the pad wear cable from its holder on the caliper. After you remove it, it should dangle freely like this.
Then pull off the caliper in the yellow arrow direction. After you have pulled the caliper off, you will be left with one pad on the caliper holder and one on the caliper piston.

There will be two layers in this shader, one for the color and the other for the reflections and highlights. Think of it in terms of a real car paint. You have a base color and on top of it a clear coat which adds the gloss to the paint
First off, open the Hypershade window (Windows -> Rendering Editors -> Hypershade). You will notice that by default you have three shaders in the Materials panel. These are the default Maya ones.
Under the create tab click on Lambert. This will create a new Lambert shader in the Materials tab and also under the workarea. The reason for choosing Lambert over Blinn is that we do not need any specular highlights. So instead of creating a Blinn and turning off specularity, I created a Lambert which does not have any specular highlights. Now double click on the “lambert2” shader in the work area or hit CTRL+A to open the Attribute Editor. First off rename the shader to something more meaningful, like “paint_color”. Remember assigning proper names to materials can save a lot of headache in the long run. So do it!
