But unlike many consumer ‘toys’, Web 2.0 actually delivers impressive benefits to the enterprise, including:
Streamlining collaboration within and beyond the enterprise
Accelerating search and information retrieval
Capturing knowledge assets and facilitating knowledge transfer
Speeding application development and deployment
Communicating with stakeholders in new ways
Some of these benefits are ‘soft’. Others are quantifiable. But all have combined to earn the attention of line-of-business managers and IT strategists alike. Web 2.0 is here to stay.
In fact, it’s now evolving into Enterprise 2.0 – the application of Web 2.0 technologies to workers using network software within an organization
Every new technology introduced into the enterprise brings with it new threats. Web 2.0 is no different, with threats including:
Infection and downtime – caused by viruses, worms, Trojans and spyware specifically carried by Web 2.0 applications
Data leaks – as staff members get lulled into a false sense of security, or intentionally share things they shouldn’t share
Legal prosecution – for illegal activities or regulatory breaches
Productivity loss – as users spend more time on blogs and social networking sites than on work
Resource waste – as servers and networks become congested with frivolous multimedia content
Reputation damage – as any of the above abuses hit the headlines
These threats may look similar to the threat landscape associated with Web and email use in general. But the unique nature of Web 2.0 technologies demand a new understanding and new defenses

Download PDFMapInfo SpatialWare 4.8 for Microsoft SQL Server Release NotesSpatialWare ® allows you to store, access, manage and manipulate spatial data as a standard part of your business data. Spatial data contains geographic information so that it may be represented on a map. Customer records with name, address and telephone numbers are only records in a database. Once the address can be tied to a geographic location on earth, the record becomes spatial information. Display that record with other spatial information on a map and you can see the relationships among the records, allowing you to make more informed decisions about your business data.
With SpatialWare and SQL Server, spatial data may be a part of any SQL Server database insert, update or delete. You can query both spatial and non-spatial data within a single SQL Server query. Spatial data used in conjunction with non-spatial data is being used by companies to find their next customer, increase the number of products and services that are offered to customers, and serve customers better. Spatial data can help answer key questions such as: Where can I buy or service products? Can you get a service truck out to me today? Do you offer cellular service in my area? What is the average home value within a 5 KM radius? All these answers depend on knowing accurate location information. SpatialWare lets you capitalize on this information. You already store key business information in your database; your spatial data should complement and extend the analysis opportunities available from the database.

Download PDFHow to Create Point Cloud and Brickmaps for Occlusion PassesA BrickMap is a good way to speed up your render times if you have a complicated environment that also has a moving camera shot. By creating a BrickMap you no longer have to calculate the occlusion on each frame;it simply references the BrickMap file. You will want to wait to create a BrickMap pass until you have finished modeling your set,as you can't make any adjustments or changes to your set once you create the BrickMap,or else you will have to re-create it.
OK,let's start: Open your environment file.
2.Make sure the file has been cleaned up.Check for:
• Double sided
• Subdiv scheme
• Normals facing out
• Delete history
3.Go to Window>Rendering Editors>Renderman>Shared Geometric Attributes
• Click [Create]
• Click [Edit]
• Add the RenderMan setting [Dice Rasterorient] and un-check the check box to off. (This ensures even tesselation of the scene regardless of Camera position)
• Select all of the polygon geometry in your scene and click [Attach]
4. Create a new RenderManENV light from the features tab in the RenderMan render globals.
5. Set the settings to roughly:
• Shadowing = colorbleeding (or occlusion).
• Sampling Mode = sampled
• Samples = 5 2 or higher for production quality ( 024 is production quality)
• Max variation = 0 or .Zero will be the best looking but will take a long time to render.
6. Still in the features tab click the checkered Icon next to the Bake field to create armanMakeGlobalDiffuse3dPass.

This change, driven by the open-source community, brought a whole set of new requirements and challenges for the Eclipse platform, such as dynamic plug-in management, services, security, and improved performance. This paper describes the path from the proprietary Eclipse 2.1 runtime to the new Eclipse 3.0 runtime based on OSGie speci?cations. It details the motivation for such a change and discusses the challenges this change presented. 1 Although Eclipse was initially created to serve as an open platform for tools, its architecture was designed so that its components could be used to build essentially any client application.
Now in Release 3.0, Eclipse has reinvented itself, evolving toward a 2 Rich Client Platform (RCP). The RCP is a natural progression toward integrating not only tools but

Before the development of the Master View, the only way to control multiple computer configurations from a single console was through a complex and costly network system. Now, with the Master View CS-12, you can easily access two computers in a cost effective manner. Setup is fast and easy; plugging cables into their appropriate ports is all that is entailed.
There is no software to configure, so there is no need to get involved in complex software installation routines or be concerned with incompatibility problems. Since the Master View CS-12 intercepts keyboard input directly, it works on any hardware platform and with all operating systems. The Master View CS-12 provides two convenient methods to access the computers connected to the system: using the push button Selection switch located on the unit’s side panel; and entering Hot Key combinations from the keyboard. There is no better way to save time and money than with a Master View CS-12 installation. By allowing a single console to manage both of the attached PCs, the Master View CS-12 eliminates the expense of purchasing a separate keyboard, monitor, and mouse for each PC. Additionally, it saves all the extra space they would take up, and eliminates the inconvenience and wasted effort involved in constantly having to move from one PC to
