  • This provides a brief introduction to using Stata 8.0 for the dataset analysis. Stata is available on all of the computers in the Kennedy School’s computer lab. If you have a home computer you may want to purchase a copy of Stata from the CMO. Stata is available for Windows98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows NT, Macintosh, and UNIX operating systems. The Stata User’s Guide is also available from the CMO. The commands outlined below assume that you are using Stata Release 8.0 for Windows. Throughout this text, anything appearing in Bold font is a Stata command, whereas anything in red italics is a variable name which you should change for your specific analysis. Menu commands are indicated as, e.g., File | Open, to indicate that you first go to the File menu and then choose the Open option. The Blue Courier is the type of output you should generate. As a shortcut, you can also just copy and paste any of the command lines here directly into your Stata Command window then run. The windows can be moved about and re?sized to suit your preferences. If you do not see any of these on your version,

  • Fiat Bravo Changing / removing / refitting of front brakes pads
  • The first thing you need to do is jack up the car and remove the wheel. After you have done that, you will be left with this. Now the first step in removing the caliper is to take off the spring on the front side. You do it using some pliers. The yellow arrow shows the spring. The second pic shows the caliper with the spring removed. The next step is to remove the corks (red arrows) and unscrew the two 7mm alen (imbus) screws that hold the caliper. The screws are under the corks – pic2 To get the screws out, insert the 7mm alen key in and unscrew them out. This is how the screws looks like. The white arrow points where the other one is. When the screws are out, you need to disconnect the pad wear cable. It is on one of the sides of the car (HGT-both sides). Connector is circled red. After that is done, pull the caliper toward you by hand. Next step is to remove the pad wear cable from its holder on the caliper. After you remove it, it should dangle freely like this. Then pull off the caliper in the yellow arrow direction. After you have pulled the caliper off, you will be left with one pad on the caliper holder and one on the caliper piston. • Enabling an Accessible Web 2.0
  • The Web is constantly evolving and changing. In the beginning the Web was a click, wait, replace model. A user would type a Web address, and a page was loaded. To interact or get more details about the current topic the user would provide information via a form, click submit and wait for a new page to be downloaded. The foundation of the Web was to be able to share information. Until competent search engines were developed, the user would click on provided links to traverse the myriad of data. The Web opened up a vast world of knowledge to people. Except it was, and still is, very visually oriented and relies on the mouse interface to navigate. Eventually the Web became more accessible. Mechanisms are available and supported in Web browsers to provide keyboard navigation and to enable assistive technologies to allow persons with disabilities to use the Web. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 were developed in the W3C to provide guidance and techniques to make the Web Accessible [1]. The original Web was not perfect but with some work by Web developers it could be used by all. Now we are entering the next generation of the Web – Web 2.0. It is all about interaction, collaboration, and social networking. It is more dynamic and fluid and no longer just static pages of information. This presents yet another challenge for people with disabilities. These new interaction models are pushing the limits of the technologies of the Web and the
  • Teach Yourself JAVA in 21 Days
  • Java is an object-oriented programming language developed by Sun Microsystems, a company best known for its high-end Unix workstations. Modeled after C++, the Java language was designed to be small, simple, and portable across platforms and operating systems, both at the source and at the binary level (more about this later). Java is often mentioned in the same breath as HotJava, a World Wide Web browser from Sun like Netscape or Mosaic (see Figure 1.1). What makes HotJava different from most other browsers is that, in addition to all its basic Web features, it can also download and play applets on the reader’s system. Applets appear in a Web page much in the same way as images do, but unlike images, applets are dynamic and interactive. Applets can be used to create animations, figures, or areas that can respond to input from the reader, games, or other interactive effects on the same Web pages among the text and graphics. Although HotJava was the first World Wide Web browser to be able to play Java applets, Java support is rapidly becoming available in other browsers. Netscape 2.0 provides support for Java applets, and other browser developers have also announced support for Java in forthcoming products. • Ford Focus Supercharger System Installation Instructions
  • Before starting, be sure the vehicle has 91 or better octane fuel in it. DO NOT try to run the vehicle at full throttle at sea level altitude with a supercharger unless the fuel tank is filled with good 91-octane fuel. Failure to heed this warning can result in severe engine damage. Special Note: If you do not have a factory workshop manual, buy one now! It is good to have for any repairs now and in the future. The factory manual is available from Helm Publications, 800-782-4356. Tools Needed: 8, 10, 11 (7/16”), 12, 13 (1/2”), 14 (9/16”), 15, 17, sockets and wrenches, a 5mm Allen wrench, Phillips and straight blade screwdrivers, and a telescoping magnet. You will also need a #30 Torx bit to remove the throttle body from the stock intake manifold. Most of these tools are available at your local hardware or auto parts store. This conversion requires the proper compli- ment of automotive tools, as well as a solid knowledge of automotive technical and mechanical conditions. You should have suffi- cient experience with the vehicle type upon which the conversion is to be performed. Again, we suggest that you obtain a service manual for the vehicle. • 1.8T Boost Control System
  • The 1.8T BCS (Boost Control System) is designed to work with all throttle-by-wire Audi and Volkswagen 1.8T engines. Compatible models include the A4, Beetle, Passat, Jetta, Golf and GTI. The BCS provides user adjustability of maximum boost. At the minimum setting, the boost is held to the stock level of 6 PSI and the car will drive exactly like a stock car. As the boost setting is increased, the allowable boost is increased in precise increments. At the maximum setting, the boost is allowed to reach 14.5 PSI. This boost increases horsepower by 30 hp and the low-end torque is increased by 45 ft-lbs. The BCS includes a ten segment, three color LED boost gauge that reads in 1.5 PSI increments from 1 to 14.5 PSI. The display is electronically filtered to provide a smooth reading. The BCS offers an alternative to aftermarket re-programming of the ECU. With the BCS, the stock ECU programming is maintained. This helps to preserve smooth and predictable drivability. The BCS is easy to install. Its small size makes it easy to fit in the center console. The six wires leading from the BCS are all connected to the car’s wiring harness at one location. Features: • Maximum boost adjustable from the driver’s seat • Maintains stock ECU programming • Boost gauge reads manifold pressure from 1 to 14.5 PSI in 1.5 PSI steps • Low cost • Miniature size • Easy to install Download pdf 1.8T Boost Control System
  • Non-Programmers Tutorial For Python
  • So, you’ve never programmed before. As we go through this tutorial I will attempt to teach you how to program. There really is only one way to learn to program. You must read code and write code. I’m going to show you lots of code. You should type in code that I show you to see what happens. Play around with it and make changes. The worst that can happen is that it won’t work. When I type in code it will be formatted like this: ##Python is easy to learn print "Hello, World!" That’s so it is easy to distinguish from the other text. To make it confusing I will also print what the computer outputs in that same font. Now, on to more important things. In order to program in Python you need the Python software. If you don’t already have the Python software go to http://www.python.org/download/ and get the proper version for your platform. Download it, read the instructions and get it installed. Installing Python First you need to download the appropriate file for your computer from http://www.python.org/download. Go to the 2.0 link (or newer) and then get the windows installer if you use Windows or the rpm or source if you use Unix. The Windows installer will download to file. The file can then be run by double clicking on the icon that is downloaded. The installation will then proceed. If you get the Unix source make sure you compile in the tk extension if you want to use IDLE. Download pdf Non-Programmers

  • Sensor Web 2.0: Connecting Earth's Sensors via the Internet
  • Sensors are everywhere, which includes space, air and ground. Earth phenomena such as disasters also occur everywhere; such as wildfires, floods and volcanoes. There is a need to rapidly deploy existing sensors to aid emergency workers and investigators. The vision for our effort is to provide users the capability to create “mash ups” (a web application that combines data from more than one source into an integrated experience), similar to that used by Google Earth users to create a composite map with overlays of sensor information and from other data sources such as weather, traffic, urban construction etc. We make use of Web 2.0 technology and Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) web service standards to enable access to Earth’s sensors is an emerging mega-trend which will lower the cost of producing customized science by an order of magnitude. This paper will outline the key aspects of our experiments to date and implications for the future and in particular the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) international effort. Our team has been developing various ongoing prototypes with increasing complexity to demonstrate n an approach to interconnect sensors around the world and to enable easy access to the data from the sensors. Furthermore, we enable easy methods to combine various sensor data along with applying processing algorithms to provide users with customized data products. In our demonstrations, we have used up to four satellites, one Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), multiple ground sensors, data algorithms and models in a variety of
