AccuRender Tutorial: Adjusting ExposureAn important thing to keep in mind is that light intensity can vary significantly within a model. Just like in real-life, if daylight is coming through a window and you look toward it, your eyes compensate for it and adjust. If there are lights on within the room, they can become add less to the overall room brightness if the light coming through the window is too bright. This complex, sometimes subtle, change is taken into account by adjusting the Exposure like an automatic camera. These adjustments take into account over- and under-exposure due to contrasting light intensities.
These two images have the same lighting intensities in the model, but the sunlight coming into the room can be seen hitting the floor crisply only in the first rendering. This is because of the exposure adjustment, which compensates for the brighter spots by “stopping down” the camera lens.

This user guide describes how to set up and use the cable modem. Before installing the cable modem, you should read this user guide to ensure proper cable modem operation.
Understand the Cable Modem’s Features
Your cable modem has the following features to help you access and use the Internet:
• Two-way design allows the cable modem to send and receive data over the cable television network.
• Cable bandwidth allows data rates of up to 38 megabits per second (Mbps)*, which is faster than analog modems, integrated services digital network (ISDN), or asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL).
• Using your cable line means that the cable modem is always on, always connected, and does not tie up your phone line.
• Plug-and-play operation through universal serial bus (USB) ensures easy setup and installation.
• Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS?) compliance ensures interoperability with DOCSIS compliant cable operators.
*NOTE: Speeds may vary based on the following factors:
• Computer equipment including available RAM and processor speed
• Software applications utilizing your computer’s resources
• Network traffic depending on the time of day
• Limitations set by your Cable Service Provider

This allows LISTSERV® Maestro to use Access databases as a data source, making it possible to have LISTSERV Maestro extract data directly from an Access database [3].
The ODBC driver plugin is a special database plugin that allows recipient information or drop-in content to be pulled from any ODBC data source. The ODBC driver plugin can be used in the recipient wizard with the “Select Recipients From a Database” recipient type [1]. It can also be used in the target group wizard with the “LISTSERV Maestro Retrieves Recipients from Database” target group type [3] to retrieve recipient information from an ODBC data source. Additionally, it can be used to create drop-in content elements by retrieving content information from a database [1]. ODBC drivers exist for many applications [5], making a wide range of data available to LISTSERV Maestro for recipient retrieval or drop-in content definition.
By connecting directly to an Access database, you can use any standard SQL statement to extract data. You can even use the Access tools and wizards for constructing your query and testing it within Access. Then, by switching from Design View to SQL View, you can copy the SQL statement from Access and paste it in to LISTSERV Maestro.

The application, called SystemBrowser, works a little like Windows Explorer: it displays folders and files, as shown in the next figure.
What is EventBased Programming?
Before diving into the design and implementation of SystemBrowser, let’s back up for a second to discuss what EBP is, why it is appealing and how it allows us to control coupling. In a nutshell, EBP is a way to design a software system using events and event notifications to connect the major parts together. The advantage of this approach, over traditional call?any?object?you?need designs, is lower coupling. In many cases you eliminate static coupling between parts, making it possible to test those parts in isolation, using a test fixture.
I’ve barely begun and I’ve already introduced a couple of expressions that deserve explaining. What does parts mean in the previous sentence? I use this word to refer generically to classes, objects and assemblies. And what is static coupling. Unless you’re read other material of mine discussing coupling, you’re probably unfamiliar with the expression. Also, if there is something called static coupling, you might guess that there is something called dynamic coupling. You’d be right.

THROTTLE CABLE CONNECTION The throttle lever is provided with holes for attaching a solid wire throttle cable. 1. Remove the 5 mm screw and the cable holder. Hook the solid wire cable end into the throttle lever as shown. 2. Move the throttle cable control (located on equipment) into the FAST (or HIGH) throttle position. 3. Move the throttle lever by pulling the throttle cable until the throttle lever just contacts the choke arm. Install theMapping the Net: Revenge of the Physical WorldOnce upon a time, the Internet was a wholly virtual environment, moored only loosely to the physical world. It was where information went to become free, where censorship was routed around, where communities could leap barriers of distance and culture in a single bound . . . and where no one knew you were a dog. The kicker was that these aspects were built into the fabric of the Net, thanks to its origins in military communications research. You couldn’t tie the Net to the real world if you wanted to.
The physical world is making a comeback, even online. With the collapse of the dot-com stock bubble, things like brick-and-mortar storefronts, tangible assets, face-to-face meetings and hard-dollar profits suddenly are fashionable again. Following the same pattern, the foundational assumption that Internet users and sites have no connection to geography is eroding. It’s now possible to determine with high levels of certainty where someone is connecting from. This allows for targeting of services and content, but also raises the possibility that physical-world laws will encroach on cyberspace.
Like it or not, the era when one could confidently speak of the Net as a world apart is coming to a close. Profitability and traditional stock valuation metrics do matter in the end. In order to properly use the textures in 3D Studio MAX please verify the location (drive-letter; e.g. D: or E:) where your image-maps are located. Then open the File/Configure-Paths page in 3DSM, switch to the “Bitmap”-section and enter the path to the IMAGE-folder on your CD-ROM at the “Configure-Paths” setting If the Raytracer fails to find a texture in any of the 3DSM-default folders, it now automatically searches through the extra locations defined in the “Configure- Paths” on the “Bitmap”-page.
To add a path to the Path-List, press the 'ADD'-button and select the folder containing the image-maps for your textures, e.g. the IMAGE-folder on the product's CD-ROM.

Load the *.lws or *.lwo files directly in LightWave 3D or Inspire3D. In some cases the image maps for the different material-layers may not load automatically. If a path-requester appears, locate the IMAGES-folder on the CD-ROM and select the appropriate image.

Starting Microsoft Excel and Opening Files
Launching Excel via the Start menu and All Programs isn't the most efficient way of doing things; it's much easier to do so from an icon on the Desktop:
1. Open the Windows Start menu and choose All Programs then Microsoft Office
2. Instead of clicking on Microsoft Office Excel 2003, hold the right mouse button down and drag Excel from the Microsoft Office menu onto the Desktop - choose Copy Here
3. Now (and in future) double click on the Microsoft Excel icon to launch the software
You can also place shortcuts to files you are currently working on the Desktop in a similar way - this time (when you drag the file icons from My Documents using the right mouse button) choose Create Shortcuts Here from the pop-up menu. When you have finished working on a file then you can the shortcut (leaving the file itself safe in My Documents). Another feature which makes opening a file easier is to alter the number of documents which feature in the list of recently used files (the list which appears at the foot of the File menu):..
