  • The Art of Unix Programming Teaching Guide
  • The Art Of Unix Programming (TAOUP) was written primarily to be used as a self-education tool for professional or enthusiatic amateur programmers. It was not designed to be a course textbook, but it may usefully be employed as one. This instructional guide is intended to help. TAOUP is different from the general run of Unix tutorials, which tend to concentrate on the level of basic shell usage, application programming interfaces and other relatively low-level issues. TAOUP very deliberately focuses at a higher level: design principles, style, and the history that has informed both. It is not a replacement for an introductory UNIX textbook, but a valuable complement to same. TAOUP could be appropriate in at least three different contexts: • Courses on the Unix operating system. TAOUP is appropriate as a core text in a course on Unix, especially one oriented toward programmers (as opposed to, say, training system administrators). • Intermediate-to-advanced courses on software engineering. The problems of complexity control in larger software systems, and the lesson Unix experience teaches about that control, are a core theme of the book. • Courses on the history of computing. The material is presented in a historical frame, with an emphasis on technology as a human activity. The evolution of Unix makes an interesting lens through which to examine interactions between technology, economics, and subcultural history. Download pdf The Art of Unix Programming Teaching Guide
  • Nikon FM Instructions Manual
  • The Nikon FM is a compact 35mm single-lens reflex camera that offers a host of advanced features amateur photographers and professionals a like will appreciate. It is designed to accept virtually every accessory of the Nikon System-the most comprehensive ever created for photography-so it can do virtually everything the top rated SLR’s can do with that unique precision and reliability which you have come to associate with Nikon. To get the most out of this camera, study the instructions in this manual carefully, as well as those in related manuals, and practice using the controls—before loading the camera with film. Keep the manual on hand for ready reference until you have mastered operation. The few minutes you spend familiarizing yourself with the camera will guarantee you the best results and increase your pleasure in taking pictures many times over. Installing the Batteries The Nikon FM’s built-in exposure meter is powered by two button-cell type 1.5V silver-oxide batteries. These are mounted in the battery clip, which forms a single unit with the battery chamber’s coin-slotted lid, in the camera’s baseplate. To install the batteries, first unscrew the lid by turning it counterclockwise, with a coin or something similar, until it can be freely removed by hand. Then, seat the two batteries in the battery clip, one on top of the other, making sure that their respective plus (+) and minus ( - ) indications correspond with similar marks provided in the clip. After seating the batteries correctly, replace the lid, and secure the connection
  • Addendum to Users Manual Ranger Wedge Interface
  • A laptop computer contains an integrated keyboard whereas a desktop computer uses an external keyboard. When using a desktop computer with a scanner that is designed to emulate keyboard input, the scanner is wedged into the cable that connects the external keyboard to the computer (hence, the term wedge scanner). Since a laptop keyboard is internal, there is no cable accessible to use a standard wedge connection for a scanner. However, most laptops make provision for an external keyboard via a separate keyboard connector (or port). Since the scanner connections to the laptop are different from the connections to a desktop computer, the scanner must be programmed specifically to operate as an external keyboard device. This is accomplished by using the programming codes on page 9. Download pdf Addendum to Users Manual Ranger Wedge Interface

  • Tutorial: Easy Beads in Paint Shop Pro
  • I’m using Paint Shop Pro 8, but I know this feature is still in later versions. Ever tried Balls and Bubbles? They’re fun! Here are the easiest beads (or round candies if you’re so inclined) I know how to make. Start by opening a new raster image of 100 pixels. At 200 dpi this is going to make you a half -inch bead, scale-able as are all your picture tubes. Now go to Effects, Artistic Effects, Balls and Bubbles: When the options box opens, choose the “Gold Ball” preset, and select Single Ball and Maximum possible size. If you haven’t ever explored the Balls and Bubbles feature you’ll want to come back later and play with all the various presets and make some of your own. Now, you can keep the color or colorize the bead as you wish. I’ll show you how to save as a single tube and also a multiple tube set, so while you’re playing with the colors make about six different ones. Download Tutorial: Easy Beads in Paint Shop Pro
  • SAP Ebook: The Appointment Calendar (BC-SRV-GBT) Tutorial
  • The appointment calendar allows you to organize your appointments [Page 7] and to find out when other employees have appointments. The appointments are managed centrally and can be taken into consideration when appointments are planned in your enterprise. Integration The appointment calendar is included in various SAP applications, for example, the processing of sales orders or working with activities in Customer Relationship Management. The appointment calendar is also available as an independent application. The maintenance of your appointments is independent of the application you are in. This means that appointments that you created for sales orders are also displayed in your activities view and vice versa. Features The appointment calendar supports you in your appointment planning with the following functions: • You can switch between a daily, weekly or monthly view when displaying your appointments. • You can work with individual appointments, group appointments and periodic appointments. You can create a detailed description for each appointment. • A search function supports you when searching for times without appointments for one or more users. • Appointments can block a time period or just reserve it (all-day event). • All employees involved in a group appointment are notified automatically when the appointment is created and changed. • A substitute concept enables each user to assign authorizations for the display and maintenance of their appointments to other employees. • Various time zone functions support you when you are planning appointments in different time zones. • 2009 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA TDI Information
  • The Jetta ushers in two important new features this year, a station wagon and a new, 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder TDI diesel engine. The sedan can also have its front wheels powered by a 2.5-litre 5-cylinder or a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder. The Jetta Wagon cannot be ordered with the 2.0-litre turbocharged gasoline engine. Interior and trunk The cabin is easy to access but the wide doorsills collect dirt and grime. The front seats are very comfortable, and drivers can easily find a good driving position thanks to the telescopic steering wheel and seat height adjustment. The slide adjustment lever should be on the door-side of the seat or, even better, run the width of the seat to make it easier to shift the seat before getting in. The rear seat is comfortable for two adults. Legroom is good but headroom is tight for tall people. The folding seatback has a 60/40 split, and the leather package adds a ski pass-through. When the seatback is folded it slopes up a bit towards the front, so it doesn’t form a flat floor with the trunk of the sedan, or the cargo floor of the wagon. As is customary with Volkswagen, the sedan’s trunk is very spacious. However, the opening is a bit small. The lid has outside hinges. There’s a small dual grocery-bag hook below the upper part of the trunk. The dimensions of the cargo area in the wagon are generous: 106 cm behind the rear seatbacks when they’re up, 178 cm when they’re folded, 100 cm
