The following information provides basic precautions which must be observed if fuel is to be handled safely. It also outlines the other areas of risk which must not be ignored. This information is issued for basic guidance only, and in any case of doubt, appropriate enquiries should be made of your local Fire Officer or Fire Department. Fuel vapour is highly flammable and in confined spaces is also very explosive and toxic and when diluted with air becomes a readily ignitable mixture. The vapour is heavier than air and will always fall to the lowest level. It can readily be distributed throughout a workshop by air current, consequently, even a small spillage of fuel is very dangerous. Always have a fire extinguisher containing FOAM CO2 GAS, or POWDER close at hand when handling fuel, or when dismantling fuel systems and in areas where fuel containers are stored.
WARNING: lt is imperative that the battery is not disconnected during fuel system repairs as arcing at the battery terminal could ignite fuel vapour in the atmosphere. Always disconnect the vehicle battery BEFORE carrying out work on the fuel system. Whenever fuel is being handled, transferred or stored, or when fuel systems are being dismantled all forms of ignition must be extinguished or removed, any leadlamps used must be flame proof and kept clear of spillage. To use an HSQLDB, download the HSQLDB system from http://hsqldb.sourceforge.net/ and copy hsqldb.jar into the JRE lib/ext folder (this jar file is also included in the HSQLDB folder). A sample database (clients.properties and clients.script) has been included in the project folder.
To use a MYSQL database, download the MYSQL server from http://www.mysql.com/, install the server and create the database. A script that creates the database has been included in the MYSQL folder in the project folder. If MYSQL is used, it is worthwhile downloading the MYSQL Control Center which provides GUI access to the databases. To use an MS Access database under Windows, an ODBC connection that links the database, “clients.mdb”, and the logical database name used in the system, Clients, must be defined. First, you open MAX and go to the Left view port. I like to maximize the view port that I am working in so I would hit ALT+W.
Ok, now you need to go to the Create tab, select Shapes, and then select Line. Draw a line like I have done in the picture below
Next, go under the Modify tab and open the Modifier List and scroll down until you see Lathe.
When you first apply the Lathe modifier, your line will look really weird. Simply go under the Parameters Menu, and then under the Align sub-menu select Max. To get the shape that we want, while still under the Parameters Menu, change the Degrees to 180.0. Make sure the check box next to Weld Core is selected.
After you do that, you should have something like I do below.
