  • Choosing a Powered Wheelchair PDF Manual
  • The wide range of battery-powered vehicles currently available for the disability market is divided into three main categories: powered wheelchairs, scooters and buggies. The advice in this factsheet covers powered wheelchairs only. For advice on scooters and buggies refer to DLF fact sheet Choosing a scooter or buggy . People tend to think about purchasing a powered wheelchair when they can no longer manage their standard manual wheelchair. First, however, it may be worth considering the range of active user wheelchairs that are available. These are manual wheelchairs that are lightweight and have large propelling wheels on an adjustable axle, so that the position of the wheelchair user within the chair can be adjusted to optimise their propelling and manoeuvring potential. A wheelchair user who may, previously, have found propelling a standard wheelchair too difficult may find that the reduced effort needed to propel an active user wheelchair is sufficient to regain independent mobility. The relative lightness of these wheelchairs, especially over powered wheelchairs, is an advantage if the chair has to be lifted and transported in and out of a car boot. For further details on active user wheelchairs refer to DLF factsheet Choosing an active user wheelchair . Highway regulations group powered vehicles into two categories: Class 2 and Class 3 vehicles: ” Class 2 vehicles can travel up to 6. Download Choosing a Powered Wheelchair PDF Manual

  • In-Circuit Programming the ACEx Family of Microcontrollers ACE1001/8001, ACE1101, ACE1202, ACE1502 Tutorial
  • Introduction the ACEx (Arithmetic Controller Engine) family of programmable integrated circuits is designed for applications requiring high performance, low power, and small size. The ACEx family supports in-circuit programming of the code EEPROM array, the data EEPROM array, and initialization registers 1 and 2. In-circuit programming of an ACEx device is accomplished through a 4-pin interface. Data is shifted serially in and out of the device using a 32-bit command/response word. This 32-bit command and response word contains all the necessary information to program data to the EEPROM arrays or the initialization register. This application note provides a detailed description of the programming interface, the 32-bit command/response word, and the programming procedures. In addition, this application note also provides all timing specifications for the programming signals. • Metcalfe's Law, Web 2.0, and the Semantic Web
  • In talking about the Web, whether the original model, the so-called "Web 2.0", or the emerging Semantic Web (aka Web 3.0), one of the most important things to keep in mind is the network effect. The power of the Web emerges through the link space realized between Web pages. This is evidenced in a number of pieces of work, most famously the PageRank algorithm (Brin and Page, 1998) that was behind the early success of Google. Unlike traditional information retrieval algorithms, which were solely based on the information content of the individual pages, PageRank takes into effect how Web pages are linked to each other. By coupling this information with traditional indexing schemes, the system was able to outperform its competitors. The network effect describes the value of a service to a user that arises from the number of people using the service. At its core, it captures that value increases as the number of users increases, because the potential links increase for every user as a new person joins. This is best quantified by what has come to be known as Metcalfe's Law. This proposition developed by Bob Metcalfe in the early 1980s, was originally defined to better explain to his customers why they needed more Ethernet boards than they were buying. Metcalfe hypothesized that while the cost of the network grew linearly with the number of connections, the value was proportional to the square of the number of users. For example, given n users of ethernet cards, the number

  • Nissan Sentra 1.8S (Manual) Complete Report
  • The popular fifth-generation Sentra sedan, introduced in 2001, gets further styling tweaks and added convenience features to keep it competitive in the econocar/ pocket-rocket segment. For 2004, the Sentra receives redesigned front and rear fascias and a newly styled hood. Interior upgrades on the 2.5S, SE-R, and SE-R Spec V include an enhanced Rockford Fosgate sound system and a trip computer as standard equipment, while the SE-R Spec V gets Skyline-style sport bucket seats. Power choices remain a fuel-thrifty 126-hp, 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine in the 1.8 and 1.8S models and, for a good deal more oomph, a 165-hp, 2.5-liter four-banger in the 2.5S and SE-R. But for a wilder ride we recommend the more powerful and responsive 175-hp, 2.5-liter version in the wicked little SE-R Spec V, which also gets a new brake package with quicker-stopping Brembo front discs. The 350Z gets some minor upgrades and a boost to 300 horsepower for six-speed-manual models. Nissan is taking a breather after launching new versions in 2005 of the Pathfinder, Frontier, and Xterra. The Titan and the Armada have new power-folding mirrors, the Xterra adds an entry-level X model, the Murano sports new wheels and a restyled grille, and the Quest adds a 3.5 Special Edition trim package. Unchanged: Maxima, Altima, Sentra, Frontier, Pathfinder, Xterra. Future: Nissan may launch one or two subcompacts based on the Cube, which is sold in Japan. All-new Altima and Sentra are due within a year. Power Circles were designed as an easy-to-use system for rating products and services. Please note: Power

One simplification is to model it as a small Local Area Network. Previ- ous work has shown that a gossip-based multicast can be an effective tool for modeling the flow of information on a local area network. We examine the ef- fect of different networks within this mathematical framework. We propose a general mathematical model that incorporates the susceptibility and infectivity of a given machine in a local area network. We also use the concept of pro- portionate mixing to model the spread of information among heterogeneous patches, where each patch coists of use and non-use of an information router. A very interesting idea to model the flow of information is to Get PDF
  • AUTO-CODE Mill Tutorial 1
  • This drawing is ready to use in AUTO-CODE. The part is positioned so that the lower left corner of the rectangle is at 1,1. The contours are drawn as polylines and the drill holes are drawn as circles. All the layers for dimensions and notes can be turned off to reduce the clutter or they may remain on while AUTO-CODE is running. For this tutorial we will be turning them off. In AutoCAD, select the layer control list and freeze the layers that are not used for programming the part. To freeze the layers, change the sun icon into a snowflake. The only layers you will need for this tutorial are 0 and DefPoints. After turning off the extra layers, you should only see the top and side views of the part. We are going to focus on the top view only. Starting with a 4 by 6 by ½ inch stock material, the part will be clamped along the top and bottom edges. It is not necessary to show the clamps in AUTO-CODE. It is necessary that you know where they are located relative to the drawing. For this basic part, we are going to drill the five holes indicated by circles and then cut out the rectangular area in the center using a half-inch end mill. The drill holes will be 3/8” (0.375”) in diameter. With the drawing open, the next step is to launch AUTO-CODE. Download
