  • BRL-CAD Tutorial Series Volume IV – Converting Geometry Between BRL-CAD and Other Formats
  • Computer-Aided Design (BRL-CAD) three-dimensional (3-D) solid modeling package to support combat vehicle vulnerability studies and various other military and industrial applications. The software, which is now in its third generation, includes a large collection of tools and utilities, including an interactive geometry editor, raytracing and generic framebuffer libraries, network-distributed image-processing/signal-processing capabilities, and an embedded scripting language. In support of the package, a multivolume tutorial series is being written to assist users with the many features and functionality of BRL-CAD. Three volumes have been published thus far. Volume I provides an overview of the package contents and installation (Butler and Edwards, 2002). Volume II addresses the basic functionality of the package’s Multi-Device Geometry Editor (MGED) and offers a comprehensive list of the user commands available (Butler et al.,... • Microsoft Volt to Adding Supplementary Plane Characters to a Font
  • VOLT is a free tool available from www.microsoft.com/typography. It is mainly designed to add OpenType features to a font but can also be used to add characters in the supplementary planes, which some font editors cannot yet do. This article focuses on adding the characters beyond the BMP. Unfortunately, VOLT is not available for any platform other than Windows. Important background information: VOLT uses glyph IDs as the basis for all its operations. A glyph ID is simply a number that tells where in the font the character is found (first, tenth, fifti- eth, whatever). It has nothing to do with a character’s Unicode value or any other meaningful characteristic; it just uniquely identifies each glyph in the font. Such glyph IDs are a part of any TrueType font and are created for you by your font editor. VOLT also stores information in special additional tables that are not part of a standard TT font; these tables allow you to save the font, test it, and return to edit your work. These tables are removed as the last step in creating a finished font. If you are using FontLab, you need to understand under what circumstances glyph IDs are changed. FL provides many different ways to display the characters in a font: by Unicode value, by name, by glyph ID, etc. You can switch the display around as much as you like; the position of a character in the actual font database (and therefore the glyph ID) is not altered unless you

  • Fiat Bravo/a door handle replacement pdf
  • How the clip looks is circled with a red circle and where the clips are positioned, is pointed out with red arrows. First you need to take off the door card, here is a short reminder of where the screws are. After you have removed the door card and the protective sheet, you have to take out this window lead so you get better access to the pins. To get it away, total unscrew the yellow circled nut and loosen the torx bolt (circled red). Now that you have done the above, move the lead out of the way. Also remove the plastic bit that is held by the nut on the yellow circled spot. The next step is to unscrew the handle. To do so, unscrew the screw circled red and the nut in the opening (arrow). Now comes the hard part, removing the handle lever. You need to remove one lever from inside the door and one from the outside. The inside lever. To take it off, you need to push it in the arrow direction. The lever is the one closer on the pic. The direction is to the lock on the door, or as in the pic to the connector. After you removed it, it will look like this. Now that all that is done, we are about to take the handle off. Go to the front of the door and move the handle in the direction of the yellow arrow until it is free to be taken out
  • Districting Competition Tutorial Using ArcGIS 9.3 and Districting Wizard
  • This tutorial is designed to show the user how to use ArcGIS software and the Districting extension to prepare and submit a plan for the Competition. Please refer to the document “FINAL Rules of the Competition” for details and rules about this project including the rules and procedures of the competition. This tutorial, which also serves as a manual, provides instructions on how to use many of the tools, functions, and options available in ArcGIS and the Districting extension that will help the user create proposed plans for this project. However, because the tutorial was written in a relatively limited timeframe many functions and options of the software that may also be useful are not covered. Persons with more experience with GIS software in general and with ArcGIS in particular may be able to more easily learn and use these additional functions. Please follow the tutorial carefully as missed steps or incorrect specifications or actions can cause errors and much frustration. Please expect that it will take several practices and some hours of work to become comfortably efficient with the software. The software is the product of ESRI and may not always work as expected or desired. The authors of this document are only responsible for the tutorial and the two tools that were created to assist the competition – the Compactness Tool and the Fragmentation Tool. Any errors or significant omissions in the tutorial

  • Peer-to-Peer Programming with Wireless Devices
  • Peer-to-Peer programming (P2P) has in recent years become a widely explored research area. With the evolution of wireless technology such as mobile phones, the idea to bring these two technologies together gives a new dimension to P2P communication, collaboration and resource sharing. This master thesis explores the domain of Mobile Peer-to-Peer networking and proposes a Peer-to-Peer System with Wireless Devices. The system is based on an open, protocol-based P2P platform called JXTA. It allows any connected device on the network ranging from sensors and cell phones to personal computers and servers to communicate and collaborate in a Peer-to-Peer manner. It is platform and network independent and designed to be implemented on any networking device. JXTA for J2ME (JXME) is a lightweight version of JXTA that gives P2P functionality to constrained wireless devices. The technology, which is open source, is under development by the JXTA community, and this thesis focuses on the development of JXME for the Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC). The system proposed uses the JXME API, but suggests a more specific approach to implement different Peer operations such as Peer discovery, resource advertising and file transfer. Because of the limitations of wireless devices, one or more powerful Peers need to participate in the network as Proxy Services. This gives both the advantages of a fixed P2P network and the mobility of a wireless device. The prototype developed demonstrates the P2P system with simple collaboration and file sharing. The application has been successfully tested on phone emulators, and network tests show that the
