O*NET is a database—not a book, like the DOT. This database has the qualities of both an interactive library and a language.
Serving as a library for information on the working world, O*NET allows everyone to access data on job characteristics and worker attributes. It includes information on the knowledge, skills, abilities, interests, preparation, contexts, and tasks associated with 1,122 O*NET occupations.
Like a spoken language, O*NET acts as a medium for exchanging information. Workers benefit by exploring career options and learning which skills employers seek for specific types of work. Employers identify necessary skills to increase the efficiency of recruitment and training. Educational planners need O*NET to design instructional programs that teach the skills demanded in the workplace.
O*NET has an organizing structure and a distinct vocabulary. An overview of the birth of O*NET precedes a more detailed look at its structure and content. Discussion of software applications that build upon O*NET follows. A final section tells how to obtain O*NET products. The table on page 4 and the diagram on page 5 highlight key points, and the sidebar starting on page 6 gives details on O*NET skills.

Deployed as a plug-in for the major browsers on the Windows, Mac and Linux (supported by Novell) operating systems, web developers can craft interactive applications that have an identical user experience on the vast majority of web browsers deployed today. Silverlight addresses a disconnect that exists today in web development workflow where the design intent of graphics designers and interaction designers cannot be faithfully communicated to and crafted by the web developers. In Silverlight, this intent is created in design tools like Expression Design and Expression Blend and passed off to web developers in XML-based XAML data files. The fidelity of the designers’ ideas is kept as there is a clear separation between the design in XAML and the code in JavaScript.
Silverlight is a browser plug-in that renders XAML and exposes a JavaScript programming model in 1.0, extending this with a .NET programming model and runtime in Silverlight 2. Since the Silverlight 2 runtime has full access to the HTML Document Object Model (DOM) and cross-domain data access abilities, it is possible for future Silverlight applications to implement analytics entirely in managed code or in JavaScript code that is invoked from the managed code.
This architecture enables using AJAX-style programming patterns for building responsive, interactive, applications. An event model within the Silverlight control allows for web developers to easily add JavaScript-based event handling for mouse,PHP vs. JavaIt isn't correct to compare Java to PHP. Since PHP is a server-side scripting language whereas Java is a general-purpose language. In other words, PHP is only used as a server-side language where Java is both for server-side and desktop programming language. Moreover, Java is compiled and strongly-typed language. On other hand, PHP is a dynamic typed language. Hence, only for server-side programming, the comparison between Java and PHP makes sense.

Programmers
- There are millions of bad programmers: Both Java and PHP programmers.
- Everybody is a PHP programmer. Even monkeys! Almost all web hosting companies use Apache Server/PHP.
- Changing or creating a page in PHP is easy. Creating a page: Use Drupal, WordPress, Xoops, Php-Nuke etc
- For JSP (Java) it is also easy to change or create a page. However, for a complex application, monkeys cannot do programming in Java.
Language features & libraries
- Java is OO. So is PHP now (PHP 5.0).
- Java Provides reflection (reverse-engineer classes, interfaces, functions). PHP is finally added the same feature in PHP 5.0. Note: Reflection enable you to architecture your application better.
- Java has a richer set of API.
- Java provides management API (JMX) for managing and monitoring devices and applications.
- There thousands of OSS projects for Java (apache.org). Java provides a clean mechanism to combine these libraries (jar) to compose a complex application.
- JavaMicrosoft Word Printing IssuesThere have been several reports of “printing problems” in MS Word reported over the last couple of months. After much research and testing, I believe that I have been able to determine the probable cause of these problems and a potential fix.
Microsoft Word is highly customizable program. The problem arises when changes are made to the default printer settings without the user knowing this has happened. This could be interpreted as a “corruption”, but if used as designed, it really is a feature. To better understand how to avoid this problem, users need to better understand one of the basic processes of the MS Word program. Word maintains a file called normal.dot. This is a template file – the basic pattern that Word uses every time that it starts a new blank document. This file can be customized if, for example, users always print to non-standard size paper or wanted specific margins or tabs.
The “problem” appears to be caused by changes being made to this normal.dot template. My guess is that there are one or more documents “floating around” where the template has been changed and the current user inadvertently updates their own normal.dot to match.

– Detects edges from distinct variations in field intensity
– Must have objective selection on the screen the same as the objective in use.
Probes
• Singly ‘fired’ by pressing the center scroll button on the mouse.
• Continuously fired by selecting ‘continuous fire’ on menu created by right clicking over video view.
To acquire points:
1. Select a feature measurement (on upper center menu) or use Measure Magic
2. Select a probe
a. One of those listed above, or
b. New probe can be used by selecting a point or multiple points depending on if measuring a point, line, or arc/circle (1, 2, or 3 points, respectively). The last point selected should be ‘dragged’ across the edge by the mouse to create the proper probe.
3. Position the probe over the video image
4. Size the probe
5. Select direction of scan (light to dark, dark to light, or first edge)
6. Click the center mouse button to fire

(circled red) You do it by taking a knife or a small flat screwdriver and you pull it off by pushing the knife in the arrow direction. Then after you have removed the plastic covers off, you will see two screws in the holes. Unscrew these out and pull the light will fall off like in the pic. Then just pull it off.
After the light is off, unplug these connector – it may be more in your case. After you have the light free. Take off the white plastic lid by pressing the red circled point in the arrow direction and pulling it upwards.
After that, you have the access to the bulbs. They are 5W bulbs. After you change the bulbs do the reverse to get the light back on Aerial base – taking off
After you have removed the light off the ceiling. You will see a nut that holds the aerial base to the cars roof. Unscrew the nut and take off all contacts off the screw. (arrows yellow) To get the base off, press it from inside the car upwards and it will pop out.(blue arrow) And that is it, now put the new base in. put all the contacts on the new base screw and tighten the nut again.
