  • Fiat Bravo/a & Marea - Cleaning the MAF sensor (Diesel engines only)
  • The first step is to locate the MAF sensor. Its position is on the air intake system, after the air filter box. The second step is to unplug the connector on the MAF sensor. It has a clip that holds it firmly in place, so you need to push the clip with your finger to release it. (red arrow) Then just pull the plug off. The third step is to unscrew the two torx security screws. To do that, you will need a trox screwdriver T20. After the screws are out, gently pull the sensor out of his casing. After you have done the above, you will have this on your table. The next step is the cleaning. For that you will need a 3 or 4 cotton sticks and some alcohol. *Use clear alcohol or start spray – do not use any spray or liquid that is oily or greasy. Get the cotton sticks mentioned above and flatten them. So they look like this. *If you don’t do that, they will not fit in the openings. The places that you need to clean are marked whit red arrows. Easier, you need to clean the 2 metal plates and the *resistor. *not sure it’s a resistor, butclean it any way. Download pdf Fiat Bravo/a & Marea - Cleaning the MAF sensor (Diesel engines only)
  • Why .NET Technology is Important for ERP
  • In the late 1990’s many ERP companies caught the web browser wave, undertaking projects to leverage the Internet and browser technology and even to convert their software to “lite-client” or web “portal” architectures. Unfortunately for some, .NET came on the scene too soon after this major overhaul. When .NET appeared, some were too technically exhausted, or inflexible, or still basking in the glow of their new “Internet-based architectures” to recognize and embrace .NET. Other ERP software companies were and continue to be simply too busy struggling to stay solvent during the devastating one-two-three punch of Y2K, the recession of 2000, and 9/11. They lack the resources to consider the complete restructuring of their products that .NET warrants. While Microsoft struggles to explain and market .NET, the changes at its core represent the biggest shift in software technology since the dawn of Microsoft Windows. .NET is the second shoe to fall in the Internet revolution, portending a whole new computing model emphasizing not just superficial trading of web pages, but cooperating and collaborating systems. For ERP vendors and their customers, .NET spells the future of enterprise software applications. And, as we will explore in this whitepaper, .NET technology points to a future that demands ERP software companies rethink and rewrite their base architectures. The Right Place, the Right Time: Accepting the Challenge In 1998, Intuitive Manufacturing Systems was a 4-year-old ERP company, following the industry leaders, investigating “lite-client” architectures and tools to move their ERP package into the Internet age. Intuitive’s investigation turned up

  • How to setup and secure Snort, MySQL and Acid on FreeBSD 4.7 Release
  • This document will help a user install FreeBSD 4.7 Release, Snort 1.9.0, MySQL 3.23.53, and ACID-0.9.6b21. It will also guide the user through the process of securing the machine and getting the snort sensor(s) to log to a central database over stunnel. The intention is to give users that are new to any of the software the opportunity to build an enterprise-class system based completely on free, open-source tools. Following the instructions in this document will get you the following: • Multiple FreeBSD boxes, one running the Windowmaker desktop. I chose Windowmaker because the intention of this tutorial is to create dedicated Snort machines. In other words Gnome and KDE are overkill for what we are doing here (and it looks nice). • Locked-down machines (C2 in 2002!). I tried to be responsible with the securing of these boxes, but this is not a definitive guide to securing FreeBSD; there are several links to those at the end. If I have missed something obvious, feel free to point it out (nicely please) with your suggestion on exactly how to fix it. • Multiple Snort sensors logging to a central MySql server/viewing station. • An easy method of updating your software via the ports collection. • The fastest NIDS for your money. This will provide access to the ECU. 5) To improve access to the wiring harness, unplug the connectors and remove the engine computer. The computer is held in place by plastic clips. 6) Route the BCS wires up to the engine computer area. 7) Remove the ECU connector covers by cutting the zip ties and pulling off the covers from the connector housings. 8) Remove about eight inches of the cloth tape around the ECU wiring harness. 9) Make the connections about six inches away from the ECU connectors. 10) Use the ECU pin diagram below to help you locate the correct wires to connect into. 11) Verify the correct wire for each connection by pin number and wire color code. See the reverse side of this page for wiring instructions. Calibration Procedure The rear panel calibration adjustment allows you to fine tune the BCS for your vehicle. If the setting is too high or too low, your car will not make full power. After the BCS is installed, the rear panel adjustment can be set
