Every aspect of Web 2.0 is driven by participation. The transition to Web 2.0 was enabled by the emergence of platforms such as blogging, social networks, and free image and video uploading, that collectively allowed extremely easy content creation and sharing by anyone.
Standards
Standards provide an essential platform for Web 2.0. Common interfaces for accessing content and applications are the glue that allow integration across the many elements of the emergent web.
Decentralization
Web 2.0 is decentralized in its architecture, participation, and usage. Power and flexibility emerges from distributing applications and content over many computers and systems, rather than maintaining them on centralized systems.
Openness
The world of Web 2.0 has only become possible through a spirit of openness whereby developers and companies provide open, transparent access to their applications and content.
Modularity
Web 2.0 is the antithesis of the monolothic. It emerges from many, many components or modules that are designed to link and integrate with others, together building a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
User Control
A primary direction of Web 2.0 is for users to control the content they create, the data captured about their web activities, and their identity. This powerful trend is driven by the clear desires of participants.
Identity
Identity is a critical element of both Web 2.0 and the future direction of the internet. We can increasingly choose to represent our identities however we please, across interactions, virtual worlds, and social networks. We can also own and verify our real identities in transactions if we choose.
Download pdf WEB 2.0The Art of Unix Programming Teaching GuideThe Art Of Unix Programming (TAOUP) was written primarily to be used as a self-education tool for professional or enthusiatic amateur programmers. It was not designed to be a course textbook, but it may usefully be employed as one. This instructional guide is intended to help.
TAOUP is different from the general run of Unix tutorials, which tend to concentrate on the level of basic shell usage, application programming interfaces and other relatively low-level issues. TAOUP very deliberately focuses at a higher level: design principles, style, and the history that has informed both. It is not a replacement for an introductory UNIX textbook, but a valuable complement to same.
TAOUP could be appropriate in at least three different contexts:
• Courses on the Unix operating system. TAOUP is appropriate as a core text in a course on Unix, especially one oriented toward programmers (as opposed to, say, training system administrators).
• Intermediate-to-advanced courses on software engineering. The problems of complexity control in larger software systems, and the lesson Unix experience teaches about that control, are a core theme of the book.
• Courses on the history of computing. The material is presented in a historical frame, with an emphasis on technology as a human activity. The evolution of Unix makes an interesting lens through which to examine interactions between technology, economics, and subcultural history.
Download pdf The Art of Unix Programming Teaching GuideInstalling Eclipse Tutorial ManualIn this collection of documents, we describe how to develop Java applications that use the SWT (Standard Widget Toolkit) instead of using Java’s Swing or AWT widgets. SWT applications are developed using the Eclipse workbench. By the end of this document, you will be able to create a stand-alone Java application (jar file) that uses the SWT and runs on either Windows or Linux. In this document, we describe the installation of Eclipse on Windows and Linux platforms and the creation of a simple Java program that uses the SWT.
We have attempted to note common problems that affect the install and provide solutions to these problems. We used Windows XP Professional with the Java 1.4.0 JRE and Eclipse 2.1 as the primary platform for illustrating the use of Eclipse, but issues specific to Linux (both GTK and Motif) are also described at the end of this document.
Download PDf for Installing Eclipse Tutorial ManualThe AspectJ Programming GuideMany software developers are attracted to the idea of aspect-oriented programming (AOP) but unsure about how to begin using the technology. They recognize the concept of crosscutting concerns, and know that they have had problems with the implementation of such concerns in the past. But there are many questions about how to adopt AOP into the development process.
Common questions include:
Can I use aspects in my existing code?
What kinds of benefits can I expect to get from using aspects?
How do I find aspects in my programs?
How steep is the learning curve for AOP?
What are the risks of using this new technology?
This chapter addresses these questions in the context of AspectJ: a general-purpose aspect-oriented extension to Java. A series of abridged examples illustrate the kinds of aspects programmers may want to implement using AspectJ and the benefits associated with doing so. Readers who would like to understand the examples in more detail, or who want to learn how to program examples like these, can find more complete examples and supporting material linked from the AspectJ web site ( http://eclipse.org/aspectj ).
A significant risk in adopting any new technology is going too far too fast. Concern about this risk causes many organizations to be conservative about adopting new technology. To address this issue, the examples in this chapter are grouped into three broad categories, with aspects that are easier to adopt into existing development projects coming earlier in this chapter. The next section, Introduction to AspectJ, we present the core of AspectJ's features, andManual do Utilizador do Nokia E61iSe tiver transferido dados anteriormente para o Nokia E61i e o outro dispositivo

WinTask is a powerful, flexible platform for building automation solutions on a stand-alone or networked PC. You can, for instance, launch an accountancy package, integrate data from other programs, calculate results with this new data and then print them.
You can also launch a terminal emulation package, type the userid and the password, navigate through the host screens, pick up data in different screens and paste them back on your PC. You can navigate on a website, extract prices and retrieve them in an Excel spreadsheet. You can create an installation script to automatically install software on thousands of PC’s. WinTask can provide all the user information required to install software without any user interaction.

Microsoft has implemented its own algorithms and protocols to support PPTP. This implementation of PPTP, called Microsoft PPTP, is used extensively in commercial VPN products precisely because it is already a part of the Microsoft Windows 95, 98, and NT operating systems.
The authentication protocol in Microsoft PPTP is the Microsoft Challenge / Reply Handshake Protocol (MS-CHAP) [ZC98]; the encryption protocol is Microsoft Point to Point Encryption (MPPE) [PZ98]. After Microsoft’s PPTP was cryptanalyzed [SM98] and significant weaknesses were publicized, Microsoft upgraded their protocols [Zor98a, Zor98b, Zor99]. The new version is called MS-CHAP version 2 (MS-CHAPv2); the older version has been renamed as MS-CHAP version 1 (MS-CHAPv1). MS-CHAPv2 is available as an upgrade for Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT 4.0 (DUN 1.3) [Mic98a, Mic98b]. Even though this upgrade is available, we believe that most implementation of PPTP use MS-CHAPv1.
This paper examines MS-CHAPv2 and discusses how well it addresses the security weaknesses outlined in [SM98].
The most significant changes from MS-CHAPv1 to MS-CHAPv2 are:
• The weaker LAN Manager hash is no longer sent along with the stronger Windows NT hash. This is to prevent automatic password crackers like L0phtcrack [L99] from first breaking the weaker LAN Manager hash and then using that information to break the stronger NT hash [L97].
• An authentication scheme for the server has been introduced.
