Sample Java Application – Personal Lending Library
This is a small sample application to track our personal library of books. It includes a list of people to whom we loan our books. The application has four Java classes:
1. Person has fields for the person's name and a number which will be the maximum number of books this person can borrow at one time.
2. Book has fields for title, author, and the person who is currently borrowing the book.
3. MyLibrary contains a list of all of our books and a list of all of the people who might borrow
them. It includes methods for checking books out to people and checking them back in. It also includes a main() method that simulates a user session. In the main() method, a new MyLibrary is created, books and people are created and added to it, and some books are checked out and check in. At various points, information about the MyLibrary object is printed to the system console.

A warning light may illuminate when a problem exists with one of your vehicle’s functions. Many lights will illuminate when you start your vehicle to make sure the bulb works. If any light remains on after starting the vehicle, refer to the respective system warning light for additional information.
Service engine soon: The Service engine soon indicator light illuminates when the ignition is first turned to the ON position to check the bulb and to indicate whether the vehicle is ready for Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) testing. Normally, the Service engine soon light will stay on until the engine is cranked, then turn itself off if no malfunctions are present. However, if after 15 seconds the Service engine soon light blinks eight times, it means that the vehicle is not ready for I/M testing. See the Readiness for Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) testing in the Maintenance and Specifications chapter.

Smart dimensioning tools force overlapping dimensions to automatically space themselves appropriately while integrating tolerance and fit list information into the drawing. Inspection dimensions enable you to specify testing criteria. Read on to learn more about how you can use Power Dimension to quickly change, edit, or delete dimensions and spend your time innovating rather than managing workflow issues. It’s much more enjoyable.
Using Distance Snap
Back when I was drafting on basic AutoCAD, a long time ago, I had a bad habit. I’d spend hours making my drawings look good. Yeah, you know what I mean; it all starts when trying to place dimension lines at just the right distance from the geometry, then it snow balls into aligning dimensions and rearranging dimensions and before you know it you’ve just spent another hour. Thankfully, we upgraded to AutoCAD Mechanical and I found power dimension and its distance snap... the rest they say is history.
So here’s how it works. After you’ve specified the first and second extension lines, power dimension will ask you to specify the dimension line location; just like AutoCAD does. But instead of trying to find another dimension to align it with, keep dragging your cursor. The preview will ‘snap’ to a location and change from green to red. This is power dimension’s distance snap and while it is snapped in position and red, theWire Rigging Cartoon Ribbon Models in MayaThe following process was used to create a custom rig to study the conformational morphs of the HIV gp120 receptor as it binds CD4. A cartoon model can first be generated in Pymol, VMD or Chimera, exported as VRML and then converted to OBJ for import into Maya.
1. Clean the model. Use the Polygon “extract faces” tool to separate all of the main parts into individual parts: Beta Arrows, strands, and Helices.
2. Merge the vertices of each new part and delete history. Also rename the parts now if required.
3. Draw curves on the surfaces. Make each surface “live” by clicking the icon that looks like a magnet while the object is selected. Only one object can be made live at a time. Place a CV at just about every ring in the strand tube to achieve a balanced deformation.
This will end up being your initial confirmation state curve.
4. Import the final confirmation state geometry. And make it live and perform the same task as above. However you don’t have to break it up or clean this geometry, it will be deleted.
5. You should have a beginning (yellow) curve for the initial confirmation state and a final (blue) curve for the final confirmation state. With almost the same number of CVs in them...

Up till now, webmasters had no control over what pages Google crawled. Webmasters could only submit their homepage to Google and hope that Google would crawl through links to find the rest of their web site. Google’s new service, Google Sitemaps, provides webmasters with a method to inform Google exactly which pages they want crawled, how often these pages change, and the order that these pages should be crawled.
Stop waiting.
Whether your web site contains a single web page or millions of pages, Google Sitemaps are useful for any business with a web site. If you want Google to crawl more of your web pages or you want to be able to tell Google when your web pages change, then you should be using Google Sitemaps.
Google Sitemaps are particularly beneficial for parts of a web site that cannot be reached by Google’s crawler. For instance, dynamic elements behind a search form are particularly notorious hard for Google to index. Why wait for Google to find your web site? Instead of waiting around, get your content indexed faster by telling Google where to look with Google Sitemaps.
Get Started.
There are only two steps to participate in Google Sitemaps:
1. Create a Google Sitemap
2. Submit the Sitemap
A Google Sitemap is an XML file that follows the Google Sitemap Protocol. The Google Sitemap contains a list of URLs and may also contain information about those URLs such as2006 Audi TT Roadster 1.8T Technical Specifications Technical2006 Audi TT Roadster 1.8T. New e-mail service at NUI, Galway
A new e-mail service for staff, based on the industry-leading Exchange platform from Microsoft, is currently at pilot stage. This service will be made available to all staff and research post-graduates from early in 2006, and in addition to providing staff with a reliable and secure e-mail service, it will offer a number of value-added features including calendar-sharing, nominated delegate access to email and calendars, meeting notices, a Global Address Book containing contact details for University staff, and access from certain mobile devices including BlackBerrys.
In conjunction with the core Exchange based service on campus, a web-based version of MS Outlook, Outlook Web Access (OWA), will allow staff to check and read their e-mail and calendar from any computer with internet access. From January 1 st 2006 all new staff joining the University will be provided with Exchange based e-mail. Subsequently, all current staff will be migrated onto the new service on a phased basis. As part of the migration service, we will facilitate the migration of your existing mail on Bodkin onto the new Exchange server. More details of the migration schedule for existing staff will be published on ourDesign Compiler Reference Manual: Optimization and Timing AnalysisPipelining is a technique commonly used to increase the throughput of designs that have deep levels of logic to meet high sampling rate requirements. The pipelining technique partitions blocks of combinational logic into n stages of equal delays, with the stages separated by banks of pipeline registers.
Register balancing improves the performance of the pipeline design, by moving the registers through combinational logic, adding additional registers as needed, to reduce the clock period. In this chapter, you will learn about the following:
• Basic Concepts
• Considering Input and Output Delays
• Handling Designs Having Hierarchy
• Enabling Register Balancing
• Inserting Pipeline Registers in a Design
• Hints and Restrictions
• Resetting Flip-Flops
• Replacing Flip-Flops
This chapter includes example methods of inserting the pipeline registers in a design through HDL and a script to convert simple flip-flops to asynchronously reset flip-flops.
Download pdf Design Compiler Reference Manual: Optimization and Timing AnalysisRuby Programming - Delightful LanguagesThis is a brief recounting of my initial impressions of and experience with the Ruby programming language and its community. In many ways Ruby strikes the same chord in me that Perl did a decade or more ago. I show Ruby from a Perl perspective. When I first encountered Perl, I found the language to be a little strange coming from a C background. From time to time I would use Perl to write things I would have written in C or shell, and soon Perl was my tool of choice for many tasks. Ruby is having a similar effect on me. Sometimes I prototype Perl code in Ruby, sometimes I just use Ruby for the sake of seeing if I arrive at a different solution using a di?erent language.
Like Perl, Ruby makes programming fun, but in a different way. Ruby borrows features from many languages, and one of those is Perl. I can simply translate Perl code into Ruby if I want. I will use the Soundex function as an example, as the algorithm is simple and my Perl implementation will reveal something about my abilities as a programmer. The Soundex algorithm is a simple hashing of the letters of a word to a four character code which brings similar sounding words to the same code. In 1994 I posted a routine, shown in code listing 1, to comp.lang.perl which shows both the simplicity of the Soundex algorithm and my Perl style at its worst (or best).
